Saw the reviews and decided I had a neeed to go, which was a challenge as it had just snowed and it was a 150 mile round trip. You arrive at an unassuming frontage down in the mainly residential sea front. As you go in you get the feeling of a quirky large living room. It’s got no airs no graces it is what it is. I heard the table next door say that they read something that the chef has no love of Michelin inspectors as he wants to strive for different goals. The menu for Sunday lunch is short but I chose to stick to the a la Carte with chalk board specials as it seems crazy to come to a fish restaurant and have a roast! Started with a plate of deep fried oysters with good batter and dip. Main was a delicious Dover Sole with cockles potato and greens with hollandaise. Dessert was a truly sensational lemon soufflé with sauce and lemon merrangue ice cream, which was delicious. One of the best I have ever eaten including at two Michelin starred establishments (sorry chef). Staff are very attentive coped well as it got busier and dealt with events even the spontaneous unexpected breaking of a plate (with no cause) Toilets clean and well appointed. Even in awful wind and snow still full! A real testament to the quality of the experience. Was it worth a snowy 150 mile round trip? Oh yes!!

Just had the best meal ever at Whits. Fantastic food, fantastic staff, wonderful waitresses and a very lovely relaxed environment. Couldn't recommend it enough. But the icing on the top was the most wonderful company

My husband and I had a delicious meal from start to finish. I highly recommend the lobster ravioli for starter. There is a lovely calm, cosy atmosphere and our waitress Erika was super. Thank you, we will most definitely be back.

Had an absolutely wonderful meal last night to celebrate my mums birthday. We were there for almost 5 hours drinking and eating and never at any point made to feel we needed to leave! Wonderful service all night. Probably the best steak I've ever had. Can't wait to come again.

A warm welcome, Friendly, knowledgeable waiting staff, exceptional food (lobster ravioli, scallop & crab risotto and banana soufflé were all heavenly) , good wine and a wonderful atmosphere. Love living in Deal but having this restaurant on our doorstep is a real bonus. Can't wait for our next visit.

Having eyed up the menu for several months we finally booked for tonight to celebrate our ten year anniversary. The food was incredible, so tasty, well presented and have I mentioned delicious..? the service was great too, attentive but not overbearing. A final shout out to anyone considering a cocktail. The French Martini was absolutely lovely. A great night.

An absolutely fantastic restaurant. Based on my previous experience eating here a couple of months ago I took my wife this weekend; we were not disappointed. The lobster ravioli is amazing and the main dishes superb. If you love seafood cooked to an exceptionally high standard this is the place to go.

Had a purely idyllic lunch here on Sunday, the atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant is very warm and welcoming with lovely friendly staff, both myself and my partner eventually chose dishes from the specials board with a vast array to choose from it did take us some time to decide. We willl definitely be back to enjoy another beautiful meal.

Seriously impressed with Whits of Walmer. Superb Dover Sole served with the fish skeleton salted and deep fried. As a lover of pork scratchings, I've now discovered the piscine equivalent. Heaven!

I love this restaurant and we always use it when we travel down from London. Extremely good quality produce, excellent presentation and I think fairly priced dishes. This place is a must for all fish and sea food lovers, plus they do a good Sunday lunch set menu. Make sure you save room for dessert there amazing too.

Delicious Sunday roast ,- probably the best in the area - we had the Roast Sirloin of Scottish Beef. I started with a delicious Chicken Liver & Foie Gras Parfait with Brioche Toast & Po Onion Marmalade - the service was very good - friendly and attentive without pressure. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fine dining and great food.

Probably one of the nicest experiences I have had in deal. Lovely cocktails served out in the garden area, before going into the cosy interior. Food was absolutely excellent, service very good, ambience very nice. Only downside was the atmosphere was somewhat subdued probably due to the older nature of the other customers. But definitely worth more then one visit.

Whits does it again! We had dinner at the fabulous Whits last night. Nothing dissapointed, the service, the food all simply perfect. The photos don't do it justice as they obviously use only the finest ingredients and prepare everything with love and attention to detail, the flavors are divine. We love this place and have to say that it has to be the best restaurant in Deal, we are so lucky to have them so close. Thank you the Whits team ♥️

Absolutely outstanding. Stumbled across this place during a week in Walmer and was utterly blown away. Best seafood I've had since Angler in Moorgate. If you're anywhere near, treat yourself to the tasting menu on a Thursday.
