Byrnes Pie & Eel House - Wallington - Photo album

It's been a long time since I visited a Pie & Mash shop, and one so local to me, for a rainy Saturday afternoon, I headed in here. It's a classic feel to the place with the marble tables and wooden benches, but that adds to sitting down to tuck into some good food. The pie tasted really nice with
I like this place, although i think the pie could have been a bit more beefier tasting and the meal was only served lukewarm. But these places are becoming rarer and rarer, so we should support them as much as we can to preserve our traditional Pie 'n' mash.
My old man sent me to get him some pie and mash as he's under the weather, i got myself a double pie and mash and was quality. Served up by a lovely fella.
Located bottom of Wallington high street. Spacious restaurant, plenty of seating. Staff friendly and helpful. Food quality is good with plenty of helpings. I had double pie with single mash and plenty of licka (don't know true spelling of this word). The food is already cooked so there is almost zer
I'm not a regular P&M eater as I live in the Northeast of England. However I know when a pie, mash and especially liquor is right. Byrnes has it just right. Soggy bottom and crispy top on the pies. Enough lumps in the mash to prove the potatoes are proper. Just the right amount of white pepper in
Excellent food and choice of sausage & mash if you don't like pie & mash. Yummy cakes and puddings too. Lovely decor, old tiled walls and bench style. Great friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Thank you.
I've been eating pie mash since I was 4 years old this is my best pie mash shop by far the eels are fantastic too. I live in in spain most of the time when I land at Gatwick I'm straight to Wallington. Nick you have got this the owners and staff are great and very friendly.
Exactly what you want and expect. They've done a great job on the decor too. Looks and feels like they have been there for 100 years. Would recommend. Make sure you get a nice drink of Sarsaparilla on the side
Good honest food, served by friendly staff. Can be a bit quiet, but it's the food we want, not the noise.
In my view best pie and mash shop around
I went to your shop today for the first time - i have eaten pie & mash all over south & east London & i must say that yours was the best i have ever tasted - lovely clean shop excellent pies & friendly staff - will definately be back
The food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is jolly. Always have an interesting conversation and fab food when I'm in here! Just wish I could figure out the liquor recipe..
I love pie and mash it brings back memories of when I was young and this place hits the mark 👍
Great food. Can't beat a double, double, double. Just need to get sarsaparilla back in stock.
Spot on pie n mash, perfect in every sense of the word, from the service, authenticity of the decor to the pie n mash itself, recently read a review from 2016, stating the exact opposite, well I can safely say that, I’ve eaten pie n mash all my life in lots of different places and this is right up t
Pie and mash was a lovely lunch time treat. They serve Sasparilla. So Quadraphenia surroundings meets Bonanza. Lol Really special jewel in Wallington.
For a South London boy, it's great having this so local. Very nice people, delicious food, classic venue. What else do you need?
Lovely pie n mash , clean and friendly atmosphere
