Been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. My wife had pate followed by steak Diane. I had mushrooms followed by peppercorn Fillet steak. Both great and will be back. Resisted the dessert trolley, that are all home made.

I come to El Nido a lot with my family, and, without question, it's a wonderful experience. The food is excellent, and the service top notch. It's a pleasure to support a local business, especially one that is as accommodating as the Garcia family. The dessert trolley is the stuff of legend!

Been humming and harring about going to this restaurant for months and months, all because of the reviews! We finally decided to take a plunge. It was very easy to book a table over the phone. When we got to the restaurant we were greeted like regulars, so lovely! Our table was ready, amazing Spain wine! Olive and bread for the table. Only criticism I can say it took very long time for the starters to arrive. But food was really tasty and service was amazing! We will be going back, lovely local place! Loved the dessert trolly! Recommend!

Visited this restaurant on a Saturday night for a romantic meal for two. The restaurant was quite busy but not overcrowded or noisy. The staff were very professional and attentive. The food was excellent and of a very high quality. Do strive to leave room for the sweet trolley, it never fails to impress. The restaurant itself is very accessible and close to both Wallington Station and a bus stop for very easy access to both Croydon and Morden. Highly recommended! Sadly it's closing soon as the owners are retiring. They will be sadly missed and we wish them luck for the future.

Nice, friendly neighbourhood Spanish restaurant. Had a delicious chorizo and red wine starter. The sweet trolley is a winner! I had to choose the sherry trifle!

a wonderful, old-fashioned restaurant run by a lovely couple. Sadly, it's closing at the end of June 2023 as they're retiring. It will be much missed.

We had an excellent meal. All three courses absolutely delicious. We have never been disappointed in this restaurant. The service was very, very good . The proprietors were friendly, helpful and attentive. It was lovely choosing a dessert from a dessert trolley and everything looked delicious and tempting. Definitely one of our favourite restaurants.

Authentic Spanish food served by the most lovely husband and wife team who I discovered have run the restaurant since 1978! Everything I ate was utterly delicious - garlic prawn starter, paella main and dessert from the dessert trolley (yep dessert trolley! 🙌🏼). Can’t wait to go back

I have lived in Carshalton for 28 years and have been meaning to try El Nido as I have heard such great reviews from friends and family. We visited last night as it was the only restaurant that had availability and so glad that they did!! The service, atmosphere, food and cost was fantastic and I would not hesitate to return. Nowadays, service like we had at El Nido does not exist , the owners are genuinely friendly, which is rare. In my opinion, this restaurant should have a waiting list for bookings, it’s great!!

Just love this place. I'd not visited for a few years but the food and service we're as top class as always. I had mussels to start (just mussels, no shells in a wonderful sauce 👍) and then the chicken & chorizo paella. Both were excellent. Everyone else at the table really enjoyed their food. All in all, well worth a visit with a reasonably priced set menu as well.

Expensive lunch menu, not for regular dinners, but great for special occasions. Food is delicious, but not suitable for tropical/spicy pallets. Great collection of desserts.

Have driven past El Nido hundreds of times but last Friday booked for two. Firstly, being a non drinker I was pleased they stock 0% San Miguel beautifully chilled. Good start. There is a very relaxing atmosphere you don't feel other patrons are sitting on your shoulder. Then the lovely Mr & Mrs Garcia take over making you feel as if you have been using their restaurant all your life. Carlos, their son, is your chef and his menu is a delight. They specialise paella which is cooked from scratch using homemade stock so allow 30 minutes if not ordering a starter. I had black pudding finished with a fried egg, delightful. My wife and I shared a traditional paella, chicken and fish and we were NOT disappointed. Fabulous!! Couldn't finish it so took home leftovers for breakfast with scrambled eggs. I was tempted to a gooey chocolate brownie from the dessert trolley but could quite easily have worked my way through the entire contents. To finish? Delightfully strong hot espresso some of the best coffee I have had locally. If I ever drive past El Nido again I will be thinking "I wonder can they fit me in this evening?" Can't wait to go back

Visited El Nido for the first time this evening - we have been wanting to go for years as we have heard many recommendations about this place. Our experience was lovely, this is a Spanish restaurant run by a Spanish family and the make their own homemade desserts. We thought the food was wonderful and the service was wonderful (thank you especially Tristan!), we will be back!

This is a classic silver service restaurant with excellent Spanish dishes, English desserts and passionate staff. Took fiancé there and he loved the mushrooms and olives - he normally hates both. The fresh ingredients are truly fresh.

Lovely food, good service, friendly staff and good atmosphere. Service not exceptional like we'd been told it was. Could have been a bit more prompt, proactive and anticipate the things we had to ask for. Things were quite slow but this fits the relaxed pace of the place. Would be nice to have water on the table without asking for it. Also dessert menu - when it comes after the starters and main course, it makes it tricky to decide if you want two or three courses at the start. Do you want starters, or desserts, or both?
