Great choices and decent portions.
Visited with my daughter. We had three small plates and two side dishes. We didn’t quite finish the main courses as we had to have dessert!
Special mention for the octopus, a very hard dish to cook, as it’s very easy to overcook.
Each dish was delicious and really enjoyed them.
Dessert was a really nice blackberry parfait.
It’s not budget food if you have a decent amount, but you pay for quality.
Really nice serving staff, good communicators.
Toilets very well appointed and clean.
Ps even on a Wednesday night it was pretty full, worth booking.
Been meaning to come here for absolutely ages. Didn’t disappoint at all. Firstly, the staff were fantastic, attentive and welcoming and the whole restaurant was as clean as a whistle.
Menu wise… too hard to decide so two of us went for 5 starters and a main. Had it been dinner we’d have added an extra main. You can tell they are super keen about local produce and are so clever with it. Seasonal experts for sure. Nothing wasted and all from the area. We had a gorgeous chard style dip with the lamb rump (cooked to perfection), so earthy and refined, the perfect amount of garlic in the mash… just as an example. All starters were ace. Ox cheek, octopus, lovely whipped local cheeses…We finished with some home made digestifs. Incredible. The whole team deserve every accolade they get. And the whole meal was really good value for money. Will be back.
Had a quick bite and drink while waiting for our hotel room to be ready. One of the best Scotch eggs I've eaten and the local beer selection was great! I also had the chips (fries) and my dining partner enjoyed the tempura summer veggies.
Actually 4.8 stars. Great menu with some veggie gestures, interesting but brief wine list, excellent service*. Atmosphere? It's a converted store front, plenty of room between tables for prams and walkers. Parking is a bit of a hike. Needs a bit of screening from curious passers-by
Reasons that it's not five stars... Attractive and tasty bruschetta-like starter served on sourdough that defeated standard English (ie. blunt) table knife. Do I want to work that hard on a starter? Lovely desserts to share but TWO delicious donuts filled with strawberry rhubarb jam served to a table of three 🤔 *A heads up from the server would have been appreciated.
FLP was bit dear but probably the best eatery for miles (excluding Roke)
It's good, not sure what to add .The food
tasted good and the drink was good....Nothing jumps out but flesh ingredients with good cooking. If I could, I would give it 3.7/5, it is better than average.
Lovely restaurant bar. Popped in for a drink only and quite busy with groups, slightly older age groups enjoying lunch. The food looked great, but I didn't eat. Also there is a gun garden, outside space to enjoy the better weather. Tables set at the front to watch the world go by or in the back.
We love that they source their ingredients locally and have a seasonal menu. The starters were amazing and the mains very tasty! Puddings just for the extra touch! Drinks and cocktails really lovely too!
Everything about the place, from walking through the door and being greeted, to paying for the bill it was outstanding. Knowledgeable staff on both food and drinks doesn't happen often nowadays so it's always a pleasant surprise. The food and service was perfect and luckily all food was available at the time of ordering, pick of the bunch being the octopus. The presentation is delightful and the background music was even on point. The second time in a month I have visited here and it certainly will not be the last, a new firm favourite in Oxfordshire.
We went in for an early Supper on Thursday evening. The atmosphere was really lovely' a warm welcome, well balanced music that wasn't too loud to stop conversation and friendly customer service. The limited menu was brilliant and hearing just how hard the team have been working to meet their opening date was very impressive. A brilliant new addition to a town that needs some new places to visit.
Came in for brunch and had the best breakfast bun/bap ever. Honestly incredible. The pancakes and coffee were also great. Sitting in the sunny garden was lovely and this is definitely a gem in Wallingford and Oxfordshire.
I can’t believe I live in Wallingford and hadn’t eaten here before this week - now been twice as the first time with friends was so good I just had to bring family.
Lovely food - beautifully combined and presented and great understated but oh so helpful service. Very relaxing atmosphere. Quite pricey but worth it and portion sizes for starters and deserts are big enough for sharing.
I literally cried. ALL of the food was amazing but the potato bread with bacon jam was so good that I cried, and then ordered it again for dessert. Staff were amazing, vibe was great. The only constructive criticism I’d give is that the outside of the kitchen could do with a lick of paint - just because it’s the backdrop for the garden table view. Otherwise they should change nothing because everyone on staff and everything they do is perfect.
We went here for our wedding anniversary and the food was delicious as was our gin cocktails, staff were really friendly although with the noise in the restaurant and the staff wearing masks made it was really hard to hear them. Most of the menu is fairly priced although we thought £28 for a steak was very pricey! Would definitely recommend a visit!

Last night was our first visit and will not be our last. The food is exceptional, nothing run of the mill. If you are looking for something good, but also different, then I suggest you give it a try.
Fantastic
Good food, proper restaurant atmosphere and staff were happy, chatty and smiling.
We enjoyed a Potato Bread starter, and then had the bavette steak and lamb rump for mains. All were beautifully prepared - tender lamb still pinkish in the middle, and the bavette steak was great.
Had an espresso panacotta for pudding whicb finished me off nicely.
Wow this was a wonderful place we stumbled upon and a worthy feast was had after 3 hrs of driving. The staff and decour are very welcoming and excellent attentive staff. The menu was incredible, so we had multiple small plates for a tapas style feasting and were not disappointed. Just a shame its so far away from where i live to easily go again.
Went here for a drink nice little pub with a nice garden. Staff are really friendly and very welcoming. Not yet tried to food but looking forward to at some point.
