Called last minute during a Sunday Lunch and the team went out of their way to squeeze us in. Lovely pub in a beautiful setting. Went for the beautiful roast pork. Friendly, welcoming staff, quick service and relaxing experience. Prices were fair.

Wow what a find! An attractive traditional pub in a lovely village setting serving delicious home cooked meals. Friendly landlord and landlady made us very welcome despite our late arrival after taxi delays. Also allowed us to wait (again) for our return taxi after everyone else had gone. If only we lived nearer we would return regularly.

Called in for a quick Saturday lunch. Ordered a pork and apple sauce baguette. Excellent flavoured portion served without too much wait. Staff friendly and helpful. Surroundings beautiful. Looked like an excellent selection of beers and ciders, must go back when I'm not the driver and maybe with enough time to sample the main menu.

An accidental outing after a missed bus, that turned into a surprisingly good dinner at a cozy country pub. The soufflé was far better than some 'high-end' chains (Looking at you, Raymond Blanc), and the crab was super fresh. We both had fish and chips, which was delicious (maybe a bit oily and batter heavy, but very tasty). The chips were chunky and very nicely cooked. All the portions were healthily sized (don't let the pictures fool you, the chips are huge). The coleslaw was creamy, crunchy and fresh. The pub seemed a bit short staffed and weren't the most attentive (it was quite busy on a weeknight), but the food arrived quickly.

We had an absolutely fantastic meal at The Six Bells yesterday. The staff were really lovely and friendly, the food was of a very high standard, and we will definitely be going again! I had the special on the menu which was a Cajun salmon salad, and it was honestly delicious. The atmosphere was great too. We are very lucky to have this pub in our village.

A gorgeous local pub situated in an idyllic village. Staff were welcoming and friendly with a lots of space to get comfy. Drinks were plentiful and food was top notch, we both had ceaser salads and were very happy with the quality and portions. We will visit again and recommend it thoroughly.

Fantastic 'pub-lunch'. Burgers were delicious as were options for gluten-intolerant friends with us. If you are a Midsomer Murders fan, you'll know this pub and a visit should definitely be on the cards!

Really friendly and welcoming service from everyone there with fantastic food - sensational melting Brie burger and beef burger, with loaded potato skins to start, and excellent brakesprears beer. Awesome thank you!

I had the best seat in the house, in front or the fire place. Hubby had the second best at the bar having a pint with/for the Queen.

Lovely traditional old pub. Went for a Sunday roast which pleasant, if not slightly on the small side. Definitely needed dessert. Low ceilings, beams, roaring fire all added to the charm of this thatched roof pub.

When I was in residence as organist at Gloucester cathedral for a week two summer’s ago, a tenor in the choir and I, both Midsomer Murder fans from across the pond, decided to take a long drive to get lunch on one of our free days. The lunch is still memorable to this day and the salad was a triumph replete with fresh golden and red beets beautifully dressed with complimentary greens and chèvre. The French dip sandwich was also beautifully done with the nice addition of an onion ring. With such excellent food and ambience, I highly recommend this establishment.

I absolutely love the show Midsomer Murders and was extremely excited when my good friend in England took me to this pub where several episodes were recorded. The staff was so kind and shared fun facts and encouraged taking pictures. We had a great local beer and enjoyed the lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended

Sunday lunch with my eldest son, service was good, food was excellent. We were asked to move tables due to a booking mix up, luckily we hadn't got our food but we had got settled and happily catching up. Very busy, appeared to be fully booked.
