This is a Wetherspoons; it's no use complaining that there is no music as that is one of the things they are famous for! A lovely big pub where people can talk to each other without shouting, can enjoy some excellent quality drinks for very reasonable prices (especially real ales) and cheap but edible meals. I found the staff efficient, happy to keep the tables clean and to help find things within the pub. The customers were all very friendly and welcoming, especially as we now count as strangers - we left the area in 1975.

Nice big pubhard to believe it used to be a Netto! Some might find it a bit too dark but I think it is quite good. Those who know Wetherspoons will know to expect good value. The usual food offers (curry night, etc). No music but cheap drinks.

Lovely atmosphere, ordered the steak meal and asked for the steak mid rare and it was spot on. Nice's prices and friendly staff, the only downer (which is not on them is the portion size of the chips) don't get me wrong, you do get a quite a few but other than that..top service

You can't really fault the 'Spoons. I tend to pop in on a Sunday morning for breakfast which is perfectly decent and comes with refillable coffee in a quiet relaxed environment for well under a tenner. I'm sure at 10PM on a Saturday night the same pub is an entirely different environment, but perhaps that's the essence of a good pub at the end of the day. The staff are always sociable, from Jo at the bar to Irene the cleaner. I've also attached a photo of the carpet, as I believe some odd people like that kind of thing...

Excellent in my view. My visit was on St David's Day, but they are gearing up for St Patrick's Day, which will no doubt see a more boisterous crowd in... Staff were very friendly, courteous and bent over backwards for myself, an older guy, with a sub £10 meal. Reheated my jacket potato and have to give 11/10 to the two ladies (one younger, one slightly older than 30). Both are a credit to this pub.

A lovely pub. The small breakfast was delicious. There is plenty of seating. Lacked a little music for the lonely drinkers, like myself, but all in all the staff are really polite and friendly. Served with a smile. I will definitely visit again soon.

Updated review 091122 from below... Had one of those 6oz american burgers with cheese (2x3oz) and chips, with a pint £7.50. Can't grumble with the price, tasted ok, wasn't as substantial as I thought it would be (not recommended for a hard worker on its own), plate was heated, small amount of chips. Service despite being busy was quite good this visit. It's like McDonalds, you know what your going to get. The service isn't the best and you might have to ask to get your table cleaned but I think that's down to management coz the staff all appear to be multitasking non stop. The prices are great on the food and drink. Where else can you get a large wine and a pint for under a fiver. As in their advertisement sensible prices.

Always nice to visit a Wetherspoons, you always get a good breakfast, at a good price too. The unlimited tea and coffee is also a bonus too when you visit. I visited just after 8am and it was fairly quiet. Quick service and friendly staff. Place was clean and cosy, especially in the booths at either end.
