We decided to go here for my husbands birthday and was so happy we did. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the decor was so warm and inviting. We were seated upstairs which is a little small but perfect for an intimate dinner so it was perfect for us. The service was great we got served quickly and by our lovely waiter our drinks arrived quickly and the food followed not long after. The food as amazing and was such amazing quality with a good portion size to boot. But the best thing had to be the desserts they were absolutely divine!! Homemade and so flavourful I could have just ordered multiple dishes of the dessert lmao. So overall a fantastic Italian restaurant with amazing staff and outstanding food we will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend this restaurant :-)
Beautiful fresh food that tastes amazing, friendly staff and great location. Would highly recommend, had kids 13th birthday here, and it was amazing. I love the place.
Second time eating here- first time very good but last night a bit less so. Welcome was good and food and drinks but they were very slow to clear away for dessert and coffee. That said the food is great we all had pizzas - the children eat free and we had a good time. Two members of staff were good but there were 2 who I felt were new and didn’t have enough training.
We travelled down to Fino today, after personally waiting a couple of years to try their pizza I can safely say I was far from disappointed.
Greeted by Joe on entry, we were quickly seated and underway with ordering. Our order was calamari as a starter, followed by a pizza each. I had the Diavola and my partner had the Pepperoni.
The calamari came quickly and was as delicately fried as it was tasty. An insanely light texture and crunch made it a perfect way to start our meal.
The Diavola was a lightly spicy beast, with pepperoni, n'duja, balsamic onions and red chillies plated on a red sauce and light base, it was easily one of the tastiest pizzas I've had in Wakefield. Each different ingredient came through, wrapping together a great experience. Skin-on fries accompanied the pizza as a side, which were perfectly cooked and lightly salted. Our chef today, Matt, hit the mark on every part of our food.
The atmosphere was relaxed with warm copper lighting that accompanied a chill soundtrack of instrumental music. Joe brought with him a super friendly and engaging hospitality vibe that flowed smoothly from ordering to leaving.
We will definitely be returning to Fino, and I strongly urge you try the place if you haven't yet.
My first time eating at Fino. Such a beautiful building and the food was amazing. We were seated upstairs, the decor up there is beautiful and rustic.
Our server who looked after us throughout our meal was absolutely amazing (glasses, long dark blonde hair tied up with shaved sides). I wanted to say a person thank you to you! 😊 you made us feel very welcome and were simply fab! Keep being you ☺️
Will definitely be back again 😊🙌🏻
Quirky restaurant. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely welcome. Food was fabulous. Open kitchen - love that touch.
Great venue, great service, great food, great value. We did the 2 ppl, 2 course, 2 (alcoholic) drinks for £30! What a steal!! I don’t need to elaborate, just go and find out for yourself 🤌🏻🤌🏻😋😋

Lovely setting must be one of oldest buildings in wakefield! Food really flavoursome bit the pizzas a bit doughy but overall excellent service the waiter was really attentive and would go back. Booked last min too.
Beautiful restaurant inside and out. What a great atmosphere and exceptional service from the wait staff. The food was good but that was it. I did enjoy my meal, as did the other people I was dining with. All dishes were well presented, good portions etc and you won't be disappointed but I just felt it was nothing to write home about.
Absolutely fantastic service with the most wonderful waiters that are an asset to the business and the main reason I’d consider returning. The atmosphere was nice and everything was tidy and clean, and waiters really happy to accommodate birthday requests. Good prices especially given the rise in costs everywhere, although the only reason I don’t give five stars is that I don’t think there were enough vegan versions - a vegan pizza and vegan salad would be brilliant.
Amazing food. And amazing atmosphere, very well priced and good quality. We were served by Shaun his customer service went above and beyond. Very friendly and generous and made the whole dining experience very enjoyable. I will definitely be back again in the near future.
I don’t know why, but I really wanted to love this restaurant. The setting is great and has a really good atmosphere. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. The price is reasonable for the food. It didn’t quite live up to expectation though. The food took a long time to come (I understand it was a busy night but we had long periods of waiting) and when it did arrive, some of it was cold. The food was tasty but not exceptional. 3 1/2 stars is probably a fairer score.
Just had a fantastic meal here… pricing was spot on and food perfect!!
The whole experience topped off with fantastic service from Shane the assistant manager… will definitely be visiting again 👏🏻
The team at Fino have always been incredibly attentive and remarkably personable with us. We celebrated my 21st birthday on Christmas Eve and they were so generous to make it such a wonderful experience for all of us. It was my parents’ first time eating here and they absolutely loved it. Martin and the team sang a very special ‘Happy Birthday’ and the team were so brilliant with the cake and special arrangements. Very tasty food and a firm-favourite restaurant of ours.
Antipasti was amazing, full of rocket, meats, goat cheese, sundried tomatoes. Butterflied prawns in bisque, sea food pasta with parmiggiano and chicken salad. Amazing. Strawberry sorbet and espresso affogatto. Deliciosso. Will and Maggie amazing staff - very caring and they know they stuff. Homey atmosphere will come back asap there.
Looked for a local Italian for a quick date night meal and I happened to find Fino. I'm very glad I did! I went for the pollo e funghi and my girlfriend had the penne arrabiata. Both meals were amazing and my girlfriend wanted tagliatelle instead of penne pasta, not a problem! The meals were full of flavour and were exactly as described on the menu. Mine was full of garlic which I very much enjoyed however some may find it over powering, so it's good to discuss with your waiter beforehand.
We had cocktails and mocktails with our meals and again, what a great choice these were. 2 for £10 for any two cocktails on the menu, they were full of flavour, not watered down and just exactly as described (a running theme here)
The 2 for £6 mocktails were again full of flavour and great value for money.
Our waiter was Joe and he deserves a special mention as I haven't had such good service in such a long time. Joe was very friendly and inviting, professional but not over the top. He made sure we had what we wanted and that everything was all okay with our meals throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for Joe and I'd return based on his service alone!
The building Fino is based in is also ideal, it's a grade 2 listed building I believe and it has been decorated to suit the space perfectly. Very cosy, good furnishings and surrounds and just a nice atmosphere whether upstairs or down.
Overall I was very happy to visit Fino and will soon be back to try more of the menu I'm sure!
Excellent food, my daughter is vegan and she was impressed with the choice and obvious effort they go to. Great service, very friendly and helpful staff. And not expensive. Thoroughly recommended.
It has always been a great experience here.
Food is great and service is always fantastic. We always end up coming back here.
Good for lunch or an evening meal.
