I had my engagement party here, it was such a wonderful evening. the manager helped us decorate the room the morning of the party and cooked the pizza's we wanted to serve, we also had a chicken curry with chips and rice which was warm and everyone enjoyed. the staff where amazing and patient as it was busy, they also provide us with champagne glasses to toast my fiancé's speech! I would highly recommend having a party here, you get high quality service the staff are so polite and helpful making sure we was happy.

Nice to be in Boons Back Yard again. Happy memories of playing there with The Roosters every month for more years than I care to remember in the 1990s. Still one of the best gig spaces in Wakefield.

I've been coming here for about 29 years on and off. After two years away I came back to discover that today is the last day Henry Boons will be open, after 200 years they finally close for the last time. The staff are still amazing, friendly and helpful. The drinks have always been nice here and the atmosphere welcoming. So many memories of coming here, playing pool, listening to live music and just having drinks with friends and strangers alike. A great loss to Wakefield. Thank you to all at Boons for all the good times.

Large pub which was oddly quiet on a Friday night. Good range of beers. Decent welcome. Sport shown on large TVs. Furnishings and decor need some updating but pleasant nonetheless.

Had an amazing time in their side function room; the decor was amazing, old pub style with beer barrels and jazz paraphernalia. Was really cool. The pub side was super friendly with plenty of locals and nice cheap drinks that were actually good. Amazed they had Black Sheep Square on tap. Super great place.

My first visit was to the pub was in 1982. At the time of writing the pub is up for sale, hopefully the new owners will maintain the great atmosphere and service will carry on as before.

A good old traditional pub belonging to Clark's brewery with plenty of guest beers alongside mainstream brands. The Wakefield rhubarb gin teamed with rhubarb tonic was a particular joy. Plenty of space to sit and there was a real fire lit to spread warmth on a chilly winter's day. Try the Sahara chilli peanuts. They're warm and totally delicious. Toilets are on the same level and there are two function rooms for special occasions.

Attended a friend's wedding reception in the function room, but did spend some time in the main bar. Good atmosphere. Friendly crowd and staff. Decent selection of beers. What's not to like?

A proper pub experience with z pleasant welcoming ambience. . Lots of guest ales for the real ale buffs, plus plenty of gins to choose from. I had the Wakefield rhubarb gin with rhubarb tonic. One of the secret joys is the Sahara chilli coated peanuts. Try them, they're divine. There was a real fire burning in the grate which provided a warm welcome on a cold winter's night. The place is very clean with toilets at ground level. There are function rooms for special occasions. Go on. give Henry Boon's a try.

Great use of the back room for our staff Christmas party - food was perfect (pie and peas) and we were well looked-after.

A very broad range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks at reasonable prices. The service is prompt and friendly and the bar is clean and tidy. The atmoshere is friendly and colourful the crowd casually sophisticated. Bands play at the bottom of the long bar and most customers seem comfortable and adequately seated. The toilets are clean and tidy. I can say that I enjoyed my drink and felt relaxed enough to engage in a spot of people watching without having to worry about unfriendly glares or comments, on the whole very cool place.
