After searching wakefield today for afternoon tea we found this gem! We didn't read the signs however saying they did it so we had a lovely panini each and a lovely big pot of coffee to share. The staff couldn't be more helpful nor could they be more inviting. I cannot believe I'd never came across it before, working in wakefield. Thank you for all being so kind and lovely. You made mothers day finish wonderful. I highly recommend and will continue to recommend to everyone who seeks great service, delicious food and a wonderful cup of coffee! Plenty of options available and the afternoon tea looked amazing too. 10/ 5* from us!
Second time I have had Afternoon Tea and it didn't disappoint, you get 4 triangle sandwiches a scone with jam & cream and a bakewell slice with some smaller cakes. I have also had lunch here there is a wide variety I can recommend the sweet potatoes pakora sandwich it's lovely. Staff are lovely and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and go again.
Treated my mum to afternoon tea today for her birthday and it was absolutely beautiful. I would recommend you go hungry because you certainly get a good helping of food, al really really nice. Excellent value for money. It was nice to have the little pieces of fruit amongst the cakes. We were able to take home with us what we didn’t manage to eat. Can’t wait to go back again to try some other things on the menu!
Was given a gift voucher for Mocca Moocho for Christmas and finally got around to using it for an afternoon tea! Mocca Moocho is our go to coffee shop in Wakefield, never tried their goodies before. The afternoon tea was lovely! Our table was ready inside but we managed to find a table outside in the sun so they happily moved it outside for us. There's 10 triangle sandwiches between 2, and we had Chicken Mayonaise, Egg Mayonaise, Cheese and Pickle, Ham and tomato and Salmon with cucumber. There were some little crisps and salad to garnish. There were 2 massive scones with jam, and we had 2 slices of bakewell tart, and a few pieces of flapjack and shortbread. We only managed one scone between us but happily took the rest for later on! Staff were very friendly and accommodating! Would definitely recommend the afternoon tea to anyway, it would be a perfect gift. The coffee shop offers everything you could want, there's so much choice! It's important to support local independent coffee shops
Fantastic service. Very friendly staff. We have afternoon tea and prosseco. They accommodated for our dietary requirements with ease. One of the best gluten free afternoon tea I've ever had!
I love this place and go for breakfast regular, the avocado and houmous wrap is beautiful also. I tried afternoon tea here with my mum at the weekend, and was not dissapointed, truly scrumptious and will be back <3 xxx
This place is an absolute gem, first time I’ve been in and will definitely return. Finding food for ‘on-the-go’ when wheat intolerant is very difficult but I actually found a number of options here. My GF salmon & broccoli quiche was delicious guys
- many thanks!
A chilled coffee shop in Wakefield centre, near the cathedral. No parking, park at Sainsbury’s or The Ridings.
Nice coffee, lots of cakes.
Breakfast and lunch
Suitable for vegetarians, and they do vegan too.
Nice little family run cafe. Good selection of drinks and cakes. Also a decent lunch menu of panini wraps and sandwiches.
Was a relaxed atmosphere. Fairly busy as well. Large amount of outdoor seating as well as two floors inside. Very friendly and welcoming. Will visit again.
What a lovely independent coffee shop.
Lovely friendly staff, who were so cheerful and warm.
Coffee was excellent.
Cheese and Ham Toastie was superb, generous with the ingredients. Cakes looked amazing.
The place was really busy, while the chain coffee shop next door was empty!
Spotless toilets!
Outside seating too.
Right next to the Cathedral.
Excellent place, coffee & cake was very nice. Decent in-door and outside seating. Good courteous service.
There is plenty of space to sit. Especially outside on a beautiful day, it is very inviting. Would recommend it here while walking about the shops.
No menu's but I've posted what was on a couple of the boards. Service didn't take long, and this place was fairly busy.
Latte is from a proper machine 👌
I ordered their biggest breakfast (see pictures) 6 piece breakfast, fairly priced and food came in no time at all.
The scrambled egg was spot on, bacon was spot on, and the waffle was a unique touch. I couldn't really say anything bad about the food. The sausages weren't mushy inside, not stingy on the butter with the toast. Give credit where credit is due. Very nice place
Lovely place. Beautiful food. Nice surroundings. Staff friendly.
Had breakfast, the lunch items looked very nice. May come back to sample.
Lovely traditional family style coffee shop / tea room. It makes a lovely change from the big chain coffee shops.
There's a lovely range of food and sweet treats too.
Good value for money.
It looks small at first but there's loads more space upstairs.

Great coffee shop. Updated review as its had a bit of a makeover, food is still brilliant, as are the cakes. One of the best in wakefield without a doubt.
My go to coffee shop - principally because of Jamie’s fantastic home made cakes, bakes, tarts and sandwiches. Date scones are a particular treat, but then so is the incredible flapjack, and then you get special scone weekends- always something different and moreish! The coffee is as good as you’d want to get, the staff are friendly and welcoming and it’s homely. Less anodyne than many of the chain coffee shops. I prefer to support this local business as you feel that you are an important customer to them.
Found this place by surprise and such a delicious place for breakfast. Food is both well presented and super tasty. The team are welcoming, customer service 10/10. Couldn't recommend enough if you're in Wakefield.
