great, lively conversations, banter between staff, locals alike. And food sensational btw 😋 highly recommended.

As a local, I love this pub. Its got a real old Cornish pub feel to it but its not dated and its well looked after. Its cozy, staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is great.
I organised large a surprise birthday party the staff went above and beyond for us, made it very special.
Nearly everyone had steak and it was very well received.
Highly recommended too all.
Me and my partner make trips to Cornwall for this pub. We have visited x3 and have not been disappointed.
We always order the steak and a side of peppercorn sauce.
The peppercorn sauce is beautiful- thick and full of flavour, me and my partner share one so we are not over powering the taste of the steak itself.
It is absolutely the best steak I have tasted worldwide.
There is always a variety of local beers served on tap, it’s the only time my partner allows me to drive his car (so he can enjoy a few beers)
and the staff are always friendly.
I would recommend booking early during peak tourist season to avoid disappointment as it’s always been popular when we have visited.
The only downside is, they changed the chopped peas on this dish- we used to love those.
We can’t make comment on any other dish but they look tasty when we have observed other diners. Nonetheless we still love this place.
Brilliant food, a lovely family run establishment. Well worth a visit.
Great food, had to eat outside ad they were fully booked but we didn't book. The fact they were full is a good sign and the food was the best we had whilst on hiday in the area for 10 nights and we ate out every night. They said that because they were busy food may take longer but the timing was fine and very pity service from both the waitress and landlord. Would not hesitate to recommend particularly the chicken,bacon pie!
