I highly recommend having dinner here. Very friendly and welcoming staff, they even book you a taxi home when you need one :D The food is cooked to perfection and is exquisitely delicious and you are given complimentary treats. The price is really reasonable too. A must go to place by anyone.
We had an absolutely superb meal this evening at The Ale and Oyster. Service was exceptional and food was cooked to perfection.
If you are looking for cheap 'pub grub' then you'll be disappointed so walk on by and carry on up the road! If you want high quality ingredients cooked fresh and that don't come out of the nearest cash and carry then pay them a visit and you definitely won't be disappointed.
If you want quality food. Quality service and a 5* restaurant. Best place to be. I cannot wait till yet my next appointment with this superb place. Fully recommend.

Fantastic place, had an amazing meal there last night. With wonderful food and wine. The staff are excellent and they have some very talented chefs. Thank you Sean and Jim, also the lychee liquor was lovely and we found farmer jacks and took home some of that tasty cheese
The staff were very attentive. The food was superb, steak just right, dessert gorgeous. Very relaxed atmosphere, no need to feel rushed either. Definitely recommend this place. A+++
Had the most amazing meal last Thursday night. Great atmosphere, outstanding friendly service. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants all over London and this easily competes. Would thoroughly recommend for a special occasion.

Visiting Ventnor on a beautiful sunny day and stopped here for a coffee. Although we didn’t eat the menu looked fab and we were made very welcome. Great place thoroughly recommended

A great restaurant in one of the most attractive seaside towns imaginable. We like to go here whenever we are on the Island for a visit. The only time I'm grateful that the ferry is expensive is when I visit wonderful places like the Ale and Oyster that would be impossible to get into on the Mainland because of the demand.
Called by to enjoy a light lunch and a bit of shade from the sun and could not have been more welcomed.
Lovely position in the front, great food all cooked to order and a fair price as well.
