I was planning a nice day on the beers with the lads and a curry in a beer garden to follow. I'd heard good whispers about spice mafia but noone I knew had actually gone because the name is a bit off-putting. It turned out to be a much higher class of place than I expected and all for the better. Place has a really nice vibe to it and a high end finish - especially the garden at the back. Food was stunning. We had a weekend special which was amazing poppadum and chutneys. Super fresh, just well done. Next was a course of mixed weird balls filled with different flavours which wasn't a massive hit with us but nice enough, the chickpea and chat Puri however were immense. Think we had about 8 rounds of it. Then next course came and my days-huge steaming mixed grill trays full of amazing tasting meats - served with a big bowl of rice, naans and two bowls of curry sauce. We focused on the meat and rightly so as it was too. We managed 2.5 platters between the 5 of us before we were defeated. Then the dreaded bill- turned out the special we were on was 19 quid per person. Unbelievable. Can't believe it's this good and not being raves about. Should be full every weekend by rights of the food alone let alone the friendly service! Go. Now.
Visited again 9th Jan 23 , 4th visit to restaurant had. They currently have offers on 50% off food 95% menu some exceptions Sun - Thurs , 2 4 1 Cocktails and a set menu too. Food was lovely again service good as per every time, cocktails were lovely. Pictures I took do do the food justice, visit this place you will not be disappointed.
Amazing Indian food in Urmston, excellent selection of drinks. Great seeing owner so closely involved running the business and making sure quality is always good. Been many time couldn’t fault it. No doubt why this restaurant has won the curry awards twice in a row. Well done Spice Mafia and team
This is seriously one of the best restaurants in Manchester. If you want great, authentic Indian food this is the place to go. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to India a few times and think the food here even trumps anything I’ve had there. Staff can’t do enough for you either, keep up the great work Spice Mafia 👍👍👍👍
Excellent food and service, loved every bit of it.
Beautiful food in this place, we were in Manchester for a long weekend and ended up eating here two nights in a row. Lovely clean and tidy restaurant aswell. Would highly recommend ! We are back in the city in November so will definitely be eating here.
I always wanted to try chicken 65, had it here last night, it was superb 👌.
Myself and my wife decided to give it a try tonight and can honestly say it was amazing, unfortunately we didn't take any pictures. We had the the set menu as we wanted to try something new £19 each, you will not be disappointed you get that much we could not finish it. We then tried the shisha as it was on offer for £10. The service was great friendly and made you feel so welcome. We will be back
Amazing food, cocktails and atmosphere it’s Indian street food the menu is unique. It’s our favourite place to go no wonder it’s won awards.
The staff are friendly and it’s great value for money. Highly recommend visiting for date night or a night out with friends and family!
Second visit, chicken tikka starter and chicken jalfrezi with pilau rice and naan, washed down with a pint of Cobra and a glass of wine for the wife. Very tasty food, large portions, reasonably priced and excellent service from Bid.
Such a vibrant atmosphere. Food was divine. Not sure if it was the owner or the manager, but came over and asked if the food was okay, I said it was amazing 🤩
Visited with my daughter who lives in Urmston on Sunday 24th September.
The food, service and restaurant setting were excellent much better than a nearby restaurant we we visited last time! We will definitely be visiting again the next time we visit her 👍
Two people dining and had a very enjoyable meal.
Peppered chicken and Chicken 65 for starter - tasty and good size portions
Chicken Biryani and Chicken Chettinad (with pilau rice) for main courses - very tasty and good size portions
Plain naan and garlic naan - good size. Would have liked both of them to be left in the oven a little longer, so will ask for that next time
Service was excellent, All staff were very polite and friendly. Nice ambience and decor.
Will definitely return.
A visit to this place a must, if you fancy good food with a difference. A type of authentic street food that is extremely tasty. There is also a four course special available at £13.95.
Overall the prices are not the cheapest, but definitely top quality.
There is an automatic 10% service charge added, but can be removed on request. That said the service and staff were very pleasant, knowledgeable of the menu and efficient.

I came here for a birthday meal with friends yesterday and was more than impressed. The ambience in the restaurant is perfect- neither too noisy nor too quiet. My friends and I appreciated the authenticity about the place. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. Staff there are so friendly and went the extra mile to make my birthday meal a success by singing happy birthday and presenting me with a complimentary carrot cake. I am thoroughly impressed by every aspect of Spice Mafia and would urge others to go. Best curry house in the neighbourhood is how I would summarise my experience there.
