Fantastic new place for Urmston. Top notch food, one of the best beer and ale selections I've seen, and a great vibe. Will be regular.

Atmosphere has got better since it opened, quite loud with happy chat. The stout is lovely and staff friendly. Not tried the food there yet but it always smells nice.
Had the Sunday roast pie - delicious and good value. So friendly and great service. Fantastic family pub. Would highly recommend.

I had a pit stop here with a friend after a walk on a sunny Saturday . I didn't have food but the food I saw coming out for other people looked delicious. I had 2 pints of a stout which were lovely and cold, and my mate had lager which was also lovely and cold. We spoke with a lovely little lady who may have been the manageress who was very sociable and welcoming so we will probably use it as a pit stop again because it's got a nice atmosphere.

Nice selection of beers. Love the Manchester Union Lager. Great pie sliders. The chicken curry pie is a standout.
Quite busy at the weekend with a good atmosphere and generally quite during the week. Dogs are welcome. Friendly staff and nice ambience

My friends and I went for early doors to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent, the service was great and my dog was spoilt rotten. The young lady who served us could not have do more !
I ate here today and went for the roast beef Sunday dinner. My photo really doesn’t do it justice. It was well cooked and very filling. The only thing I’d change is that mash isn’t an option and I would have preferred that to the single boiled potato on my plate! The staff in here are always friendly and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend it.
Went to barking dog 2 weeks ago on Tuesday. The pies are delicious & considering I don't like mashed potato it was the best I have tasted. We were then informed that if we went again within the month we got 2 free meals. Lovely place, staff lovely will definitely be going again.
Food always delicious and bar well stocked. However, what makes every trip fabulous is the attentive staff, young and old, who treat all customers so well. Never felt rushed or uncomfortable. Thank you all.

An excellent pub, very nice friendly family atmosphere, drinks and food competitively priced. Staff are friendly and attentive. Ample parking on the road. definitely a 10/10 place. Highly recomended.

The Barking dog is a great pub. In an age where there are trendy bars and themed drinks outlets popping up , it’s so good to see a traditional style pub going strong . The beers are great, the staff are great and the welcome is always on point, you can tell that the owner cares. They put a real effort into entertainment and have all sorts going on to cover most interests. Quizzes , DJs and more . The food is lovely and cooked with care . I’ve got a gluten allergy and when I queried the food the waitress did a great job going through the options . Now I’ve worked in hospitality for a along time , mostly in kitchens and if I was ever asked about allergies, especially gluten I would always say that although many items were gluten free , we do prepare food with flour etc and there could be a small chance that some flour could fall or ‘drift’ into another dish. This is highly unlikely and also wouldn’t be an Amount that would cause a problem but better safe than sorry. If someone has a serious allergy their safety comes first . So I appreciated the staffs honesty in relation to this and I went ahead and enjoyed a great meal. The place is well maintained and cleaned. It’s got great ventilation and felt really airy, yet cosy. Well done guys , keep up the good work and see you for a beer soon. When is the bald DJ on next ? He is hilarious. Take care !

5 of us and our dog visited this pub on a very wet Saturday early evening, looking for somewhere we could take our dog and have a meal whilst visiting our daughter at Salford uni for the weekend. Despite being very busy in the pub, the staff found us a table after a few minutes, and when we’d ordered our food it came within 25 mins. We ordered a variety of different dishes between us and they arrived absolutely piping hot and were delicious, in fact I would say the steak and ale pie was the best I’ve had for a long time.
I would thoroughly recommend and we will definitely go there again when next up in the area. Thanks guys!!

Been meaning to try this place for a while and to be honest we are glad we did, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the pies there were amazing and crammed to the top with filling, everything was fresh and will definitely go again.
