Just popped in for a quick drink, lovely atmosphere, real traditional pub feel. Very friendly locals and lovely landlord, (he's only been there 8 weeks) they do food Friday, Saturday and Sunday Roasts, so we will definitely be back to sample the food. Beer and wine was very good. Nice to see some traditional pubs still about. Thanks
Friendly welcoming village pub.
The best rump steak perfectly cooked and my favorite sweet potato fries. Delicious. Thankyou Liam Johnson. X
Lovely local pub! Always a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with the new landlord. Good mixture of families and locals, would definitely recommend!
Went to watch 3rd British Lions test. Had a good breakfast; plenty of Guinness served by great staff. Thanks.
My husband and I came here to try their new pie menu, we love pie and The Royal Standard pies certainly didn't disappoint! We both had the Moo & Blue (beef & Stilton), mine with mash, hubby's with chips, generous portions, yummy minted mushy peas and the pie was superb!
Great little pub! With a warm & friendly couple who run it! Definitely worth a visit
Warm, friendly and welcoming. Lovely food , nice feel to the place.

We caught the tail end of the annual beer festival yesterday. £2 a pint and the burgers n chips were fab too. Was a nice quiet setting with music in the background. Talking to the other customers too. Looking forward to cider festival in August
Gorgeous pies...Moo & Blue (British beef and stilton) must be tried. So tastyxxx
Very friendly staff and made to feel very welcome.
Best food in a pub I have ever had, such a friendly atmosphere !!!!!
Had our sons christening reception here, and the hosting and food completed his really special day, cannot wait for an excuse to hold another event here :) thank you all
Had a brilliant night with the Duke and broad. Everybody was so friendly in the pub and the food was lush..thank you.x
Great New Year's Eve me and mini me and my better half
Called in on way back from disappointing meal at Ship, why am I not a local in this pub?, choices of ciders are magnificent, mine Host made you feel welcome as soon as you enter, traditional pub with just great all around character.
Brilliant evening meal, couldn’t have been better we were a party of 16 from age 4yrs to 58yrs all fabulous food all hot, big portions and delicious the little kids were served first, so no drama
The Landlord, barmaid and Chef couldn’t have done more, the adults even had a complimentary post dinner Limoncello. Highly recommend The Royal Standard
Delicious 😋 homemade burgers and chips. A small restaurant so booking is advised. Nice small pub, would recommend, small car park to the rear of the pub.
Just swung in a quick drink. Looked nice, we sat out front. Noticed live music.
We attended a private function out the back but ended up spending the evening in the main bar. Friendly staff, nice traditional small pub with good beer.
We stayed in Upwey over the bank holiday weekend and The Royal Standard was recommended to us by the host of our Airbnb.
As a (very) regular pub-dweller I can honestly say that this was one of the best welcomes we’ve ever had, so much so I felt compelled to write this review.
We turned up with our large dog, something that (understandably) can be a big ask for some pubs, not here, he was treated like a superstar from the very first minute and we too we were made to feel equally welcome.
Everything from the food, drink, staff, toilets, fellow customers, hospitality (I could go on) was absolutely faultless, needless to say we visited more than once.
Pubs have had a tough time of it lately and these guys have absolutely nailed it. If you’re in the area then do pay them a visit, you won’t be disappointed. We’ll certainly be back.
Many Thanks

Update: this pub now also has very good food indeed over the weekend. I have two excellent local pubs, and this is one of them. This pub is a survivor as it seems to me that many pubs like this have been lost. There is a changing range of real ales. Perhaps the main point for me is the air of conviviality that this place has. It is quite small and you can find yourself making friends with people you never knew before. Paul Kelly.
Great pub, great quiz that must have taken a lot of effort to put together, great beer and great atmosphere. The landlord is very entertaining and hospitable. Will definitely be drinking here again.
Good little friendly pub, we had a birthday party there and enjoyed it.
Great village pub, top landlord, top food at the weekends and friendly welcoming locals.
Regular changing ales and a couple of nice ciders on tap, seating out the back and to the front to enjoy the winter sunshine. We'll worth a visit.
What an incredibly friendly pub the staff and customers made myself and friend so welcome and beer prices are very reasonable as well
