This pub (over the road from me) has transformed from a tatty run down place to the glorious pub you'll find now. The landladies work tirelessly to ensure a warm welcome, a well kept pint and great pub grub. If you haven't been in the last few months you need to come over & give it a try.
Great tasty food , friendly atmosphere and friendly staff. Would recommend !!
Lovely village pub with fantastic food, atmosphere and service to match! We always feel so welcome and thoroughly enjoy our time here. Can't recommend enough
Amazing pub.. such character. . Then with really good beers and cider.. and and not forgetting gourgous food. Yum yum yum nice staff
Holiday from coventry had a meal with the family and had a brilliant dinner everything was cooked beautifully the steak came out just as asked for everything came out hot couldn't fault anything service was excellent. Highly recommend!
We have just returned home after a week's holiday in Upwey. We visited the Old Ship most nights and we ate in the restaurant three times. We were made to feel very welcome each time. The service was very good.
The beers and ciders were excellent and we enjoyed all of our meals. We would thoroughly recommend the Dressed Portland Crab and the very tasty pies.
Would definitely return if we are on the area again !
Very friendly pub with nice staff and menu a hidden treasure

Lovely quaint village pub with new owners. We had a cracking night here and will definitely be back. Friendly local pub.
A very nice village pub. A must visit if you're in the area with an interest in Thomas Hardy. (He mentioned the pub in under the greenwood tree and the poem great things. Cozy atmosphere and very nice home cooked food.
Absolutely fantastic little pub, serving delicious food and even tastier cider. Peter and his team are friendly and welcoming. Please give this place a try if you're in the area. Look forward to our visit next year.
Really nice people from the young guy at the bar to the older gent who I assume is the landlord…. Great manners & serving old fashioned hearty food. Much prefer parting with my money in a well priced local pub, with all lovely homemade dishes. The Mrs is pregnant & fancied honest English food, highly recommend.this place & Worth a visit 👌👌👌👌 👌
Came here after a long day on the beach, rang up to book a table and the lady I spoke with was very friendly. I arrived and it felt like a family run pub, was made to feel welcome and was shown the menu. Food arrived quickly and tasted great. Will be adding this to a place to revisit when I’m next in Weymouth again!
All home cooked food on the premises....Great value for money. Quirky and quaint....£12 for ridiculously sized portion of Lasagne....Home made garlic bread ...& frozen chips...a salad option would be great rather than g bread and chips! ... second visit...chilli delicious too.
Nice local pub with a little beer garden across the way. Friendly landlord, fair selection of drinks and a quiet atmosphere despite being easy access from the road.
Excellent , wholesome, delicious food; brilliant service and comfortable, enjoyable surroundings with a relaxing ambiance. I would recommend it to anyone.
Had Sunday dinner and it was so delicious, best one I've had our in a long time, highly recommend!!! The team are lovely in there as well!
I had a Shepherd Pie, it was excellent!

Just had the most amazing liver, bacon and mash ever.
Friend had the White Bait - also very good.
Well presented and reasonably priced.
Haven’t been for years but will definitely be coming back again soon.
Such yummy food. You will feel welcome with your dog. :)
Highly recommended the cesar salad, burgers and chips.
Such a lovely place. We booked the skittle alley for a Saturday night birthday party. The room had been beautifully prepared.....a long table to seat 20 people, nice and warm temperature and fairy lights all over to make the occasion special.
Communication leading up to the event was excellent. We popped in and met the landlord and the chef and they were very welcoming and helpful.
The skittles worked perfectly and all ages, from 5 to 69, enjoyed the activity very much.
We had asked for food to be served at 7pm and it appeared exactly on time. Everyone commented on the tasty food.....hot and beautifully presented.
Well done to all concerned. This pub deserves to thrive and my family wishes them the very best for the future.
Pleasantly surprised by how good our meal was. Good home cooked food and great service!
