The Collingwood is back in action! We went for a quick pint and burgers last week, and what burgers they were.... Quick service, really tasty, great portion sizes and good value. What's not to like? The kids were jealous as we didn't take them with us, so we'll be back soon to give them a chance to enjoy some lovely burgers too!

Had a lovely day/night at the Lord Collingwood pub in poppleton. Staff are very welcoming and friendly the food was of an amazing quality. A slightly limited menu but there is something on there for everyone. The chocolate orange cheese cake in a glass was absolutely beautiful and a totally different idea. We will be going back soon.

We had a lovely evening at The Lord Collingwood. The burgers were really good and a great price too. Will definitely be returning. Only problem was did notice there wasn’t anything for vegetarians which could be an issue for some people.
Enjoyed 2 fabulous burgers with chips and great beer at the Lord Collingwood. We'll be back.
Fantastic family atmosphere great food . log fire ☺️👍
Went here for lunch today. We were looking for somewhere different from places we usually eat and we plumped for The Lord Collingwood in Upper Poppleton. Very happy we chose to go here as we had a very enjoyable experience. The Food was lovely, my steak was cooked to perfection and my wife enjoyed her Chicken Parmo. The beer was very nice. I had Timothy Taylors Landlord and my wife had Orchard Pig cider. The staff were very polite, friendly and welcoming too. We'll definitely go back again. 👍😊

Extremely friendly, traditional old village pub on the green in Upper Poppleton. Dog friendly. 17th century Grade 2 listed building. Fires, beams and a fantastic carved oak bar from the 19th century. Smiley eyed Bev (& Mr Bev, sorry, didn't get your name!) were wonderfully welcoming and warm, convivial hosts. Definitely a case of right folk in the right occupation. Car park. Beer garden to the rear with some shaded seating and an abundance of other assorted seating to the front and side. Handpulled cask beers were Timothy Taylor's Boltmaker, Black Sheep and Hobgoblin Gold. Loved the beer, totally loved the old carved bar, good food, but it's best assets are the landlord and landlady. See you again! Highly recommended.
Brilliant friendly pub loads of character staff friendly and welcoming and food is excellent and the landlady is really friendly and certainly brilliant at what she does definitely a people person makes you feel very welcome definitely what a village pub should be like thank you 😊

Exellent village pub. The Landlady Bev can't do enough for you. Nice selection of real ales, recommend the Deep 61
We popped in for a quick soft drink with the kids while visiting a giant santa 🎅 over the road with snow machines.
Lovely little village pub! We didn't stay long, and didn't eat. We will definitely drop in again if we are in the area
Great pace for food . Really good fish and chips. Chilli has a nice kick to it best I have had in a pub ever. Would recommend. Wish we live closer. But it will be on our list next time webare near York. Very professional staff
Very good value for the money. The food was excellent and homemade. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.
When you travel 16,000 kilometres and want a traditional English pub, this is what you want.
Food, atmosphere and service.
Lovely welcoming pub. The landlady was very helpful and understanding of my health problems and food intolerances. She was happy to serve a smaller portion and adapt the menu for me. Both mine and my husbands meals were absolutely delicious.
A little gem in the countryside. Great Sunday roast and tomato soup.
We came to this wonderful pub on the 28th of May 2022 and had a wonderful couple of beers. This is a wonderful pub and the staff are so very very friendly indeed. There is a wonderful beer garden with lots of seating, the beers are extremely well kept and are very enjoyable indeed. My only big criticism here though is that the drinks are extremely expensive. This does sadden me considerably because when you are a real ale drinker like I am you don’t expect to pay extortionate prices for such beers as hobgoblin. We paid just under £18 for four beers. You would think that because there is another pub nearby they would reduce the prices to get more customers and therefore have some competition. Having said that I will definitely go here again but I will be extremely careful of what I order because of the extreme high prices.
Saturday lunchtime ..... really needed lunch for 87 year old mum. But I hadn't realised they didn't normally do food then. Brilliant landlady did some beautiful sandwiches specially for us and gave mum a piece of cheesecake because it was mums birthday...
Really saved our (my) day.
Mum first came to the Lord Collingwood in her late teens and it was a lovely trip down memory lane for her.
A GREAT PUB WITH A NICE COMMUNITY FEEL ABOUT IT.
Thanks again.
Just four of us for lunch. We all had scampi, chips and peas. Delicious.
