Amazing visit. 1st time here but I can tell you defo not our last. The atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming as was the host. The pizza were truly amazing, a d on par with anything on Italy. Had the great experience of watching the Chef create new dough starter, for the 16hr fermentation which give the dough and crust an amazing flavour. Do your selva a cheap favour and get here on a Wednesday, 2-4-1 on eat in pizza that will blow your taste buds! Well done John and Chef, great evening. Thanks.

We had a lovely brunch at Roots, the venue is bright & airy, they had seats available when we arrived and service was very good. The food arrived quickly and was freshly cooked and tasty. There is ample seating outside which is under huge canopies so you'll stay dry in all weather's.

Good quality breakfast, London pricing. Latte glass a bit small and menu card given to us dirty hence loss of one star. Friendly staff and quiet busy all the time so get there early or expect to queue outside.

We went for a meal Saturday evening when the venue serves pizza. The pizzas were delicious - sourdough and much better than a major high street competitor! The atmosphere was what made the evening - there was live jazz style music from a 4 piece - not too loud - set a perfect atmosphere and really made the evening. Would highly recommend and we will return.

food was beautifully presented and instagram worthy. lovely quant restaurant that is amazing on a quiet day, however i’ve had been on a busier day and service was much slower. but hey, that’s everywhere now so can’t blame them for that

Excellent brunch. Can't fault the food or service. Really enjoyed the breakfast burger and the peach melba pancakes went down very well with my partner too. If having to find anything, I'd say you may need a magnifying glass for the menu as some of the printing was tiny bit that's really stretching criticism.

Very nice place, we were sat immediately after we arrived, it was busy however we never felt unattended, we went for the charcoal late, really good tbh, then we ordered the “OG chilli eggs” and “sweet potato hash”, totally recommended!!. It is a bit pricey but totally worth it.

First time visiting, was very busy on a Sunday so make sure to get I'm early. Drinks were served quickly but food took around 45mins to an hour which staff acknowledged the slower serving time. Food was nice, feel like the portions or photos on the Facebook page look more generous than served but still enjoyable and maybe down to the number of people that morning. Lots of vegan options which is refreshing. Would visit again to try out other dishes.

Absolutely brilliant pizza, possibly the best I’ve ever eaten - we visited Saturday afternoon when they were doing their Whole Slice offering. I had the Hot Hot Hot pizza with Courgette Cream on top… the Hot’n’Courge. Great music and chilled out vibes. Really cool neighbourhood restaurant. What more could you ask for!

We just had a really lovely meal at Roots in Upminster. The staff are friendly and cheerful and the food is delicious. There was a table available for us so no waiting today. The place has a really easy going vibe and the service is unrushed.

We went for brunch this morning, two adults and two children. We ordered the pancakes for the children. The pancakes were soft, not at all sweet and had the right amount of berries and sauces on the side for the kids. The sauce and berries were contained in small little "jugs" which were easy enough for the children to use themselves without making a mess! For the adults we ordered the sourdough toast with scrambled eggs and the beets and avocado toast. Both dishes were cooked well, looked appealing, tasted fresh and were seasoned just right. We ordered fresh juices for the children, a cappuccino and a smoothie which was delicious. The restaurant was clean and despite being busy the staff were so attentive and friendly. We have made plans to go next weekend for brunch again. Thank you Roots.

Their pizza made my day! The best pizza I've had in 4 years living in UK. I'm Italian and I'm so surprised to finally have found a place with flavours from home! Lovely! I'll definitely order again soon! Absolutely fantastic!

First time here and it's absolutely class. Coffee from allpress is great and the food is so fresh and delicious. Music was of great taste and the positive energy allowed me to do some work too whilst families and other sat and ate. There's some really cool artwork on the walls too, creating a really nice Vive altogether. Has an outside area too so in summer this place will be a perfect stop off. Worth the journey!!
