Excellent food, great service and superb atmosphere. Couldn't really ask for more. Highly recommend.
I’ve seen several ads on Facebook for The Jobbers Rest. Having checked their hygiene rating (5 stars) and many nice reviews, we popped down there for some impromptu lunch. On arrival they provided water & treats for our dog. Made a fuss of her, which was nice. We had duck leg cassoulet, beef & ale pie; followed by apple & gooseberry crumble and a pistachio soufflé. The food was absolutely delicious! The service polite & pleasant. Nice atmosphere and decor. Would highly recommend. Pleasant option for dog owners, which is a rare find. Thank you.
It's been a while since we have been here. Food has improved so much, fabulous flavours with all dishes cooked to perfection. As always, fabulous service 👍
Really enjoyed our time :-) our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Quality of food is just the top. You can taste that it's fresh and made with high standards. It's not even overpriced. So do not hesitate and give it a go!
Beautiful food, really reasonable prices. The beer garden is an absolute gem when it's sunny! Great service and love the fact it's dog friendly!
I have been meaning to visit here for ages, and I’m glad I finally did. Food is top quality. The venue clean and very tidy. Staff also excellent and very polite. Service also quick. I went for the cheese soufflés and it was superb. I followed that with the lamb roulade. Again top quality and very nice indeed. I have eaten far lower quality food at a higher cost many times. My meal with a Diet Coke including tip came to £32.00 . Very reasonable.
Having eaten almost weekly in Upminster for years I’m kind of annoyed at myself for missing out for so long !
And I won’t make the same mistake again. What with so many nice options on the menu.
Excellent 10 out of 10 !!
It was packed as expected, for a Saturday night. We wanted to grab quality dinner and have some drinks too. The staff were very helpful and kind, prepared a table for us right away.
We had a lovely evening, delicious food and great selection of drinks.
Dishes are a bit more expensive as compared to The Windmill at horn church. However, it is a better pub.
For a lovely evening, I would recommend The Jobbers Rest @ approx £20-30 per person for food and drink.
Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing but had to give a picture of our empty plates the food was lovely 💞💞 the staff are amazing 🤩🤩🤩 very very nice highly recommended.
Came here for a quick birthday dinner on a Tuesday and had a thoroughly lovely time 💞💞💞💞💞thank you 😀😀😀😀
Spent an enjoyable evening at the jobbers rest Upminster where I dined on 3 courses! Launched their new menu so we spoilt ourselves.... starters of wild mushroom fricassee with truffled arancini, morteau sausage & potato salad with a poached egg & curly endive and dijon mustard dressing. Mains of ChalkStream trout with brown shrimps, cauliflower puree, spring onion crushed potatoes & capers. A St Austell's beef & ale pie served with a smooth mash that was being devoured too fast for me to take a picture and appreciate it! ☺️😊😋 and a Cheese selection to finish me off. Cornish Brie, St Nectaire, Stilton, Cantal Entre-Deux & Rosary goats cheese served with crackers & accompaniments... . Delicious!
Good food, superb selection and great company! Can't wait to come back! Thank you for having Us
Came here with my family and had such a great experience. The menu is amazingly well written, the food is prepared and presented beautifully and most importantly - it tastes great. Portions are perfect and allow room for full 3 courses too! The soufflé is amazing both as a starter and as a main. The best part of the whole meal was the lovely Leah (hope I spelt that right). The service was attentive and lovely and I would come back just for Leah. Thank you for being the cherry on the cake of a great evening.
Our first time at the Jobbers Rest. I booked a 3 course meal + wine courtesy of a freebie virgin experience and from the moment me & OH arrived, we were made welcome.
Ordered cheese soufflé with sauce & beetroot terrine to start, confit duck dauphinois potatoes French beans & carrots & trout with brown shrimp potato rösti, then sticky toffee pudding ice cream & pistachio soufflé & ice cream. Even the house red was very good. Cappuccino’s were good too. All courses were beautifully prepared & cooked, especially the pistachio soufflé. The service was as good as in a top class restaurant, attentive but friendly. A special shout out to Lee, our waiter, what an excellent job he’s doing, paying close attention to everything. We’re looking forward to returning very soon. Would really recommend.
Lovely pub with a cosy warm feel even though it is a reasonably large space. Indoor and outdoor seating; internal fireplaces look like they would be nice in winter. Outdoor seating have heaters and blankets to keep you cosy. Good menu variety including vegetarian, vegan and kids options. We loved the soufflé ! We visited on a Wednesday afternoon and it was quite busy - I would recommend booking ahead.
Food was lovely, cooked well, I had the steak and the person I was with had lamb, they asked us once if we were ready to order and then kinda forgot about us, and whilst in the middle of the meal, they started polishing cutlery and for around 20mins I couldn't hear myself talk let alone the person I was with, would definitely recommend polishing cutlery inside maybe?
Apart from that its a fantastic place to grab a bite to eat!

Today was my second time visiting here, a very different type of visit to before which was two adults. Today I brought my family to celebrate my partner's birthday. Staff were as last time, warmly welcoming and massively accommodating. Such a genuinely helpful friendly service which is rare, especially in outer London. Food was fabulous, ambiance was perfect and I highly commend Amanda, Roger and also particularly Lee who served us today. This is the perfect location for many types of guests. Today we were two adults and two young children and it was perfect. It's a very family friendly restaurant. We are local, so needless to say we'll be back. My other half loved it. Thanks so much dream team 😍❤️ keep up the good work. We had Sunday roasts (chicken and beef). Our son had chicken goujons. Partner loved the escargots.
Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. And the food was really good. Was happily surprised with the menu, lots of tasty French dishes. I chose the escargots and the duck cassoulet and it was as good as in France. Only criticism the dessert menu let them down.
Visited today for lunch with my partner, food was excellent, pork and lamb as tender as you like. Great starters. Service excellent
The bar is very spacious. Really lovely decor. Especially the beer garden which has lots of open space. Nothing feels to crowded. The staff are very friendly and the food is very decent. A must visit if you are in the area.
12 of us dined here for lunch 15th July. Service was 100% from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble. Food was well presented and tasted good. No complaints at all. Would definitely return whenever next in the area.
