We just happened to find this pub on a drive out, what a find. A lovely warm atmosphere, lovely inside & out, great food & lovely finishing touches to decor.
First time here and it was very good. Perfect pint of Tirril Grasmere Gold. I had the steak pie which was plentiful and came with a lovely side of greens. Slightly disappointed not to have home made chips which would have made things just perfect and 5 stars for the food. Rest of the party enjoyed t
Warm atmosphere, beautiful interior. Very nice and fast service. ☺️ The food is amazing! ☺️☺️😋😋😋
This place doesn’t disappoint! The food is fabulous, and cooked perfectly. Front of house staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and from what I could tell is also a very dog friendly pub. Will absolutely be returning when we are next visiting the area.
Best sticky toffee pudding we’ve ever had. Literally. Ok but not amazing Sunday lunch (roast beef was tough/chewy, but good variety of sides and Yorkshire pudding was perfect). Pigs in blanket starter was delicious! Friendly staff! Good looking pub interiors with a cozy wood burner in winter. A b
Great recommendation. Lovely comfortable traditional pub / restaurant with wood burning stoves, comfy sofas and super restaurant area. The lunch was great with plenty of choice on the menu. The sort of place to bring friends and family for a meal.
Had to stop here as we have our very own black labrador. We called in at lunch today sat in the bar area, amazing warm welcome we had the fish and chips , the beef burger and the kids pizza with mash and beans ( daughter's choice lol) all fantastic and tasty . The lady on the bar who served us was
Came here on a whim after passing by earlier in the day driving to Scout Scar. We hadn't made a reservation, but the staff were able to fit us in (2 adults, 1 dog) and we're glad they did! Lovely food, the staff were very friendly, and the pub itself had a nice atmosphere. We'll be back next time we
Real gem of a place. A bit out of the way but nice drive to and from. Staff were lovely. The surroundings are very nicely done. The bar is traditional and the restaurant very tastefully done in the style of a manpr house dining room. The option to open up the bi-fold doors was welcome with the 80° h
Really lovely pub, cosy atmosphere and lovely food. Attentive and helpful staff with prompt service. We had the beef roasts and two childrens roasts and despite chicken not being on the menu they prepared it for one of our daughters . My husband wasn't sure if his pint was cloudy or off and it was no
Lovely friendly welcome. Well priced food. The vegetarian halloumi burger was delicious! As was the duck. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic gastro pub. Food was very tasty. We tried a few starters to share, followed by mains an dessert.
Honestly this was such a lovely pub. Dog friendly, they sell dog drinks and meals too it's just a shame we weren't made aware of this on arrival. This pub has a pub section and then a slightly fancier section, as we were muddy from our walk and with our dog we chose to stay in the more pub-like area
Went here for an end of holiday treat with the extended family. Quite a large party so we had a pre-order our food. At the time of the visit we were greeted by the manager (I think) , we were the first group in at 5.30pm The starters came out very quickly and at this point I remembered a mistake h
Nicest pub I've been to, 10/10. Building has lots of character, with good outdoor seating. Friendly service with extremely nice food. Will definitely be coming back.
Lovely atmosphere, great warm happy welcome from the staff. Great delicious food. Deserts very good.
Have been a couple of times before always had a great experience. This time was a little lacking. The young girl showed us to a table which clearly was very short on space…like I wasn’t able to get to the seat never mind sit down… she just looked at me blankly when I asked her to sit else wear( th
We had heard stories, they were all true. Great food, pleasant surroundings and of course, amazing service from the team. If you're nearby, go see for yourself. Thank me later.
If you're visiting the Lake District, this pub is an absolute must. We cannot recommend highly enough - excellent food, we had the lobster / crab ravioli and the steak + ale pie, followed by vanilla panacotta. All absolutely delicious 😋, the kitchen certainly knows what they're doing! And, on top of
