On the 8 Dec 2016 myself and lady Venn had the pleasure to meet up with some good friends and dine at this establishment I am usually very hard to please when it comes to restaurant food as I find most restaurants don't listen to you when you tell them how you like your food cooked in very happy to say on this occasion they did the food was excellent cooked just how we had asked and very tasty, the staff was very attentive and nothing was to much trouble for them. The room we stayed in was very comfortable providing for most of our needs and we had a fantastic view of the bay even if it was quite misty all in all I would recommend the bay horse as a good place to stay and to enjoy a lovely meal to anyone. Thank you very much to all the staff that made our experience a very pleasurable one Yours Lord and lady venn

Lovely conservatory setting with fine dining and friendly service. A hidden gem. Whenever we have a special event in our family or simply want to treat ourselves we head to The Bay Horse. The conservatory setting is lovely and the view is picture postcard material. We love the set time for dinner. The food is amazing and the service is friendly. This restaurant is what got me into my love of fine dining. When my husband and I first got together 19 years ago I was a scampi and chips kind of girl. My husband who has worked in 5* hotels/restaurants had to guide me through the menu. The food is cooked exactly to your preference time is given inbetween courses. Attention to detail like the artisan bread rolls with incredible flavours and the presentation of the meal. We celebrated my nanna's 80th birthday here after we recommended it to her and we were made to feel so welcome. There were about 16 of us and every meal was cooked to perfection and piping hot. Now I hear they are serving afternoon tea, so I will have to put my January resolution on hold, until I have visited!

We went to the this restaurant last night, the staff were super. I have to say the steak was the best I have ever tasted. I will definitely be going back for a meal.

We only stayed one night but wished for more! Although time stood still, beautiful hidden gem on the waterfront! Staff excellent, food excellent , accommodation all one would ever need. Thank you Bay Horse, with all the history of the canal foot too. Left today but already booked our next stay. We had 30 degrees sunshine but we would love it in all seasons. Beer was also excellent. Thank you also for providing us with our ice bucket! Fabulous time, fabulous find, fabulous to have found you hiding down in a pocket of perfect!! Xxx

The bay horse is in a fantastic location. We only had drinks to top our short walk along the canal and long journey up in the car. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The only negative thing I would say is the cost of the beer, although after a long drive and the beautiful views we were happy to sit and have a couple of drinks with family we had came up to visit.

This hotel really is an excellent venue. We only used the pub and restaurant not the hotel rooms. The location is lovely. Take binoculars to scope the birds and wildlife. Excellent views across the Bay to Morecambe and Lancaster and hills beyond. The food in the restraunt is of the highest quality local produce. It is prepared with great care and passion (check out the butter dish that is on your table on arrival). Service is impeccable and make sure you get a table in the sun room overlooking the Bay. We will return.

A nice pub at the end of the road to canal foot. A nice setting on the side of the estuary. Peaceful.

The staff were really friendly. The breakfasts were excellent with a wide range of options and the best full English breakfast I've ever had. I had dinner here as well and ordered the rib eye steak. Wow it was one of the best I've ever eaten in my life and I've had steaks in Argentina, Brazil and Japan. I ordered it blue and it was cooked to perfection, a rare treat in the UK. It was from a local farm and hung for 4 weeks. It was also massive at 12 oz. I will definitely be staying here again.

Our stay at the Bay horse hotel was perfect, the staff were welcoming and friendly. We booked a double room and brought our dog along there was plenty of room for his bed by the window and our bed was very comfortable. The food was excellent and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much to all the staff for looking after us so well.

Lovely setting by the canal and the sea. Quite expensive but lively interior and nice tables to sit outside. All drinks were served properly and the staff were very good. The cookies at £2.20 were quite average

This lovely pub and hotel are hidden away in a most unexpected place. The pub overlooks Morecambe bay estuary providing stunning views. They have a great choice of food ranging from hot or cold sandwiches to full on 3 course feast. We opted for the hot sandwiches which are served on a baguette and are stuffed with meat and side salad with the a complying sauce. Although the place was busy we were served pretty quickly and the young waiter was brilliant, he was running round keeping pace with all the visitors and remained pleasant throughout, nothing was too much trouble. We only visited for food so can't comment about the accommodation. Thank you to all the staff.

Just popped in for lunch and as always the service and attitude of the staff was exceptional. Lunch was spot on and we sat out for the view. I’ve been before and no doubt I’ll go again. Please though, I’d love it if you guys were able to give a cows milk alternative. Other than that, great lunch and lovely staff.

We had a recent stay. 1st was the friendliness of staff taking you to your room and explaining layout etc. lovely and clean throughout. Our room with a balcony over looked morecambe Bay and the Lake District mountains. All saff were amazing and then the exquisite food served with the same view as the balcony. Such a tranquil place watching the speed of the incoming tide, and sunset Amazing. Can't wait to return. If I could give 1 negative comment ,it would be the bathroom really needs updating but still clean and functional. Don't book with booking. com absolutely useless.

Lovely, quaint pub situated at Canal Foot overlooking Morecambe Bay. The food and beer were excellent - my steak one of the best I've had in years. The place echoes with history and is charming to spend a few hours not just in the pub but also to watch the sheer power of the flowing tide and how the local wildlife deals with it.

Excellent food and beer. The setting is old fashioned. Not in a fake way; it reminds me of the way restaurants were 30 years ago. That's not a bad thing but it does set it apart from a lot of other similar establishments. The menu options are mostly heavy meat based dishes (there are vegetarian menu items) and the starters a meal on their own. The rooms are small but clean and the breakfast is freshly cooked with a good menu.

Lovely dinner out at The Bay Horse. Quiet Monday evening in September but still booked to get a beautiful view from the conservatory. Delicious food, amazing flavours even on the vegetables and a varied and different menu to choose from. Homemade bread with your meal and beautifully displayed 'swan' butter. A pricier menu but so worth it, lovely portion sizes meaning we didn't go for a dessert. Certainly recommend for a special night out.

Random stay for the night as we were visiting the area (Laurel and Hardy museum, Lakelands Motor Museum), but what a gem. The staff were friendly and welcoming from our arrival, rooms were clean and comfortable with good facilities. The quality of food and drink was exceptional, and the staff were keen to make sure we were well looked after. Great value for money stay, highly recommended me and my buddy Patrick.
