Lovely pub in the quieter part of the Lakes. My room was well kitted out, clean and comfortable. Breakfast (full english of course) was easily the best ive ever had, really set me up for the day. I did dine of an evening, really good menu and the Cumberland sausage in a giant Yorksire pud was extremely tasty. I will definately return. Thanks Steve and Lucy see you again soon

Had a lovely stay. Friendly and very welcoming. Room was very homely with the complimentary tea and coffee with biscuits and the extra touch of shower gel and shampoo in the bathroom. Lovely home cooked evening meal with generous portions - especially the chilli which was very tasty. Breakfast set us up for the day. Great value for money. Will definitely return. Thanks

Never been to the area before but had an excellent evening in a warm cosy pub with friendly locals - glad I ignored the stupid comment from the idiot wanting a quiet meal. Really she should try a library and eat her vegetarian sandwich there. The food was excellent.

The owner was brilliant can't fault the service. Room was good size and clean. Should have more chairs in the room with coffee table and more electric sockets nearer the bed. Middle of no where so nothing to see or do unless you are willing to drive. Food was excellent

We loved this place! Proper pub. Good pub food done well in front of a fire and great local beers. Comfortable room, lovely shower, enjoyed the window seat with a view. They were very welcoming and chilled and kind to our dog. Perfect full English in the morning. I hope the rest of our holiday is as great.

Traditional village inn. Room was comfy with a modern bathroom. Breakfast and dinner were tasty and there's a nice atmosphere in the bar. Lovely quiet village setting but not far off the main road.

Tried to dine last night but due to it being bank holiday the pub was full to bursting. Second time lucky tonight, and well worth the wait. Food all beautifully cooked fresh to order, great range and prices very reasonable. Would definitely recommend 💯

A fantastic place & a superb location nestled between the A5082 & the approach to Coniston Waters / Lake. They serve fantastic cooked food ( home style) & the bar serves great local brews including The Great Corby Stout.

Lovely little pub with a nice little selection of beers on tap, friendly service. We stayed a couple of nights and everything exceeded expectations. Comfortable beds, foam mattress not too soft and not too hard, good choice of pillows, and the bathroom was really excellent: clean and modern with a great shower, good pressure. Breakfast included, with cereals, toast, porridge, full English, etc. A great start for the day, and relaxing in the bar with a couple of drinks was a great way to end it.

Had a brilliant stay at this cosy little pub whilst doing the Cumbria Way. Lucy let us use the toilet and put our bag in our room even though they weren't officially open until 5pm on a Friday. Evening meal good, atmosphere in the pub really friendly, room was clean and comfortable with a lovely bed and powerful hot shower. Breakfast was very generous and well cooked. Steve helped us with taxi contacts...nothing too much trouble. Thank you to you both, we enjoyed our stay.

They owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. The pub itself is extremely comfortably and welcoming. We arrived late at night and were greeted with a warm welcome, after which we had a couple of drinks in the bar. Breakfast was always enjoyable and they catered to our requests. The food served is great value for money and I would recommend the lamb. I would happily stay here again on another trip to the Lake District.

If you going to visit Lake District you must stop by this location. Owner will really appreciate as locals are just about 20 as number. This is 1760 old pub, with exposed beams from an old ship. Very chic rooms with recently updated bathroom's, shower 6*. I did enjoyed my local brewed ales in their garden watching the sunset. You are going to be served by the most nice gentleman, Steve, who's the owner of the pub. He really cares about the feedback and he will do anything for you to enjoy his pub/inn visit! We had free breakfast and we did had an proper sized dinner at very reasonable price, OMG. Is just 30 min drive away from Windermere and 2 miles only away from Coniston Water. Thank you The Red Lion Inn! ❤️ I've left one 360° picture with owner approval on Google Earth.
