Really charming staff and friendly place to hang out.
Dogs and kids allowed so also a relaxed family atmosphere.
Initially thought the food was a bit expensive but the portions explained it all - Basically you get money worth.
The atmosphere and the food made for a lovely relaxed meal out. The portions were huge and nicely presented. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I had fish and chips followed by a trio of ice cream. Delicious and well cooked food. Recommend you to try if you haven't already.
Went to Old Farmhouse in Ulverton.Twice on Saturday 4 th February.First for lunch.Food was amazing .so we're portion sizes.Returned same evening with friends and again food was first class. We were staying on a camping site about a mile a way from the pub.well worth a visit.the decor inside is fabulous.we will be returning.
Spotted this pub on a drive out from Cleveleys one wet, windy Sunday. What a find!! Beautiful food and very large portions. We only had a main each. No way I'd eat more than one course. Lovely looking place. We will definitely be back. Staff were great.
After travelling up from Scarborough to Bardsea for a few days away in our motorhome we walked up to the Old Farmhouse where we shared the hot and spicy platter, staff asked if we would like chips with it we declined and so glad we did because there was plenty of gorgeous food to enjoy Will defiantly be going back. Staff lovely and friendly, service was quick but not rushed. Thank you
Beautiful place very friendly staff and the food was amazing. We stumbled across this pub whilst passing but I can honestly say I'll definitely be going again
Love the atmosphere, staff are really friendly . The food was gorgeous, I had steak and got plenty with it ! The huge bonus for us is you allow dogs will deffo becoming again soon .
Fantastic food and great value. I had tuna mayo and cheese sandwich which came on a foot long wholegrain baguette with loads of filling. The chunky chips was also great. Friendly place and a great selection of local ales...
10 of us went to Old Farmhouse on 13th June Every one of us thought the food was lovely from Fish to Steak , it was actually nice to get a decent steak , done to perfection plus the wine deal with the meals was fabulous , Well Done x
Loved this place, good food, friendly people, games and dog friendly-what more does a family need?!?
Staff were nice, meal was excellent, only problem was staff should ask how your meal is during rather when your paying.
Brilliant service and lovely quality food. Welcoming staff that put in the effort and checked if our food was okay. Would recommend getting the shared starter for 2!
We were staying at the nearby Premier Inn but didn't fancy the food there so searched online for somewhere nearby and the Farmhouse popped up. So after a wet morning at the local zoo on Thursday we decided to try out the Farmhouse on the way back to the hotel, WOW, we couldn't decide
so we both had the Cumberland pie it was absolutely delicious! So much so we returned on Friday afternoon and both had the Catalonian Chicken, again absolutely delicious, if we are ever up that way again we'd definitely go back there
Hadn't booked to eat, but friendly staff accommodated us even tho' they were busy. We had Cumberland pie which was very tasty and a sizeable portion. Felt like I'd eaten when I left. Good choice of meal options, even though they'd run out of the carvery, not that we were bothered. Would certainly recommend a meal there
We visited as a family of 6 including 2 children. Absolutely lovely place. Warm, friendly and beautiful food 😋 children were happy as were the adults. Decently priced for fantastic portions. Fabulous evening with fabulous food. Deffinitley recommend.
Service was amazing. The guy was really polite and helpful. Food portion sizes are really good! That nachos dish for a starter was massive. We will be back I'm sure of it.
Visited this place on our stay at the Lakes and we made such a good choice. The food was exceptional and they let us have our dogs with us in the back garden. After ordering we had to wait for our food, but it was worth every minute. Would totally recommend it, the staff was nice, the prices are affordable and it is just a really pleasant place in the heart of the Lake District peninsulas. Worth a visit. 😃
Been here for food many times. In fact this is our go to destination for food when in Ulverston. Staff are friendly and the food is really good. Dogs ate welcomed in the bar area and when the weather is good the outdoor area is a great place for food and a drink
Cod o plenty is huge! Would definitely recommend. Cajun chicken was nice, but very little sauce so a little dry. Garlic bread is amazing.
This place was recommended and omg it did not disappoint.
We wanted a roast dinner and was offered a 3 course for £15 yes I did say that right.
I had homemade tomato soup served with warm bread n butter.
Roast beef served with mash, parsnips, roasties, Yorkshire pudding, green beans, broccoli, carrot n suede and loads of gravy.
Black forest Eton mess.
My friend had prawn cocktail served with warm bread n butter and salad.
Chicken supreme with the same as above.
Marble cake with chocolate sauce and vanilla custard.
All the good was absolutely delicious and I will def be back especially for the price!!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Can't wait to go back even though I live an hour away!!!.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was packed with flavour.
The best family meal we've had in a long time.
Came to the restaurant on a saturday afternoon and was so impressed that we had to return on the Sunday for the roast dinner.
Went for a 3 course roast dinner. Overall very good, and reasonably priced. Choice of cider could have been as only strongbow was on tap.
Went for the Sunday Roast and I had brisket.
All the food was delicous I just thought portion size was a tad small.
Everything else was spot on!
visited on the last day of our holiday. Was warmly welcomed and shown our table. Orders for food and drink was taken quickly. Food came in good time & when it arrived, it was very nice. I had the farmhouse burger & for me, the Chicken was a little overcooked, otherwise it was fine. also had some puddings which were incredible. Overall, a great meal!
During our weekend in the Lake District we are looking for a pub that was showing the match on sky sports after ringing up they was very helpful and provided us with the information we needed.
The pub is nice and spacious and has a number of seats in the outside area. A member of staff came out to see if we had water for the dog.
We had a snack whilst the game was on. There was a lot on the plate.
Lovely pub food at reasonable prices. It's a really lovely little pub. I enjoyed seeing people's dogs 🙂
This place is my local. If you go, try the pie. You won't be disappointed.
Update: They have an offer on Sundays at the moment for 3 courses for £15. We had to check this price was correct as it's such a good offer. The portions are very large too. We definitely recommend going here. We will definitely visit again for this offer as soon as we can.
