Unable to visit our usual dining place in the area (they don’t take dogs inside), The Old Crown came up as our wet weather alternative. Taking dogs, easy booking online, warm welcome, delicious food. I had a salad which was more like a ploughman’s, and it was probably the most delicious ploughman’s I’ve had. Often the bread is really dry - this was warm, soft. The cheeses, ham, pickles went well together. We will return to the Old Crown. A good find courtesy of the English “summer”!
Ref reason for the 4 on rooms is we didnt stay in any we only ate in the restaurant/pub bit, and that room was lovely. Not much to say other than great food and service. Went for a Sunday lunch, 4 people in total. I've recently moved to the area and I'm lots of places but this one is a favourite now. I had lamb which was just perfectly cooked. The vegetables were just as delicious as the meat. I want to go back to just have desserts. I was too full to have one. Would recommend to anyone.
What a fantastic Sunday roast we had on 30/07/23. A very warm welcome (even if we were 2hrs early)! Lovely friendly staff, and an exceptional, quality dinner. Highly recommend.
One of the best Sunday roasts I've had! I've been a few times for their roast dinners and every time the food has been fantastic! Always hot and the the presentation always fab! I advise you to pre book so you are not disappointed if they are unable to squeeze you into their lovely small pub as they get very busy! We usually have around a 30 minute wait for the food but to me that is standard if you want decent food, if your after food served in 10 minutes then you might aswell go to a fast food restaurant. Kate will always let you know if the food if going to take a bit longer if they've had a lot of orders around the same time. Kate & Tom are very welcoming and lovely :-) and the bar staff are lovely and pleasant too. I look forward to many more roast dinners here! I've also heard their pie nights are great which I will be trying soon too!
Amazing food, very friendly hosts, comfy bed, good shower. Basic room so need to take your own hairdryer. Definitely recommend

Really lovely place to stay - we loved this pub! Real cotswold pub in just brilliant location and Kate and Tom could not have been more welcoming to us. Thank you - we will be back!
(Review of pub only) Googled "country pub" after a day's drive around the Cotswolds and ended up here. Atmosphere is more gastropub than olde worlde but service is friendly, even though it was a busy night and the kitchen and staff were really stretched. We were there on "pie night" and food was excellent.
Called in for drinks only on a bank holiday Sunday with friends - some seats in the front - food looked good - I was here for drinks only - soft drinks quite expensive compared to other places and please note that this pub is CARD only

One of the best Sunday roasts I've had in a long time! The staff were very accomodating with some additional requests for our meals, and our two dogs were no trouble for them. Would definitely visit again. Note that the pub recently took new owners, and the quality has gone up significantly. Deserves a much higher rating than it's Google listing suggests in my opinion!
You can expect a warm welcome and their hospitality is fantastic from both management and staff, food is out of this world it just melts in your mouth, also the en-suite rooms are very spacious, i would recommend this place to anyone.
Have always loved this pub since I first went there many many years ago. Glad to find it back in the family and being run very close to how it was in the good old days. A proper pub with a friendly welcome.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch after walking on the Cotswold Way. Check out "Toms" chicken. The lemon cider was refreshing.
Went to the old crown with a bunch of pal's for a birthday bash ale was good but not as good as it used to be.
However the Pie&Pint night was great between us we had 3 different Pie's and all of us agreed the Pie's we're Marvellous.
