Great food! Best curry I have ever had. Vegetable rice was delicious, passanda king prawns were exquisite. Impeccable cleanliness. Corteus staff, but they could have reccomended some dishes or wine and be more conversational with customers. It is all very reasonably priced, I will definately return.

Had my first take away from here, after my Father had recommended the food and has been getting a chicken madras regularly. He did advise me its spicier than a madras from most other places, but the blend of flavour and spice level is absolutely spot on. Cannot recommend the Gate strongly enough and sadly I'm only in Tyneside a couple of occasions a year. Could you open a branch in Norfolk, given that our local curry houses there are below average...... Anyway, absolutely superb πŸ‘Œ

Had a lovely meal with my brother and his wife. We had different mains and there were no complaints, the lamb and chicken were very tender and there was a good amount of mushroom in the pilau. A small complaint there were only two choices of white wine, the house white or Sauvignon Blanc.

This is absolutely a must visit place for everyone who likes Indian food. We have visited many times and always left satisfied. Their Menu consists of a vast amount of dishes and there is also a long wine list to choose from. Stuff always polite and helpful to guide you through their rich Menu. And on top of that relatively good prices. Maybe the only thing that could be improved is the structure of the Menu list and a more detailed description of the dishes since the list is pretty long and it is impossible for the waiters to explain everything.. especially in a Saturday evening. Certainly recommend.

This is a very nice place to eat lovely Indian food. The restaurant is a clean and well presented restaurant. The service from staff is very good and very friendly with lovely food to go with it. I would highly recommend going for a family meal, with friends or a takeout. I will definitely be going back πŸ‘

This restaurant has been going for over 35 years in Tynemouth. We hadn't been for quite some time but decided last week to give it another try. Although the decor is beginning to look a bit tired we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meal, it was delicious. The staff are friendly and the place is clean especially the toilets. Well done, I would strongly recommend this restaurant.

Love it. For the food. Decor a bit past it's best, table decor back to the 70s but food is amazing...my Peshawari Nan was so soft and tasty. Price very reasonable for Tynemouth. Service attentive but not over the top Love it

Excellent service, marvellous food! When visiting Tynemouth, it is a must eat! Food is served on hot surfaces to be kept warm while enjoying the conversations with your friends! Staff is amazingly knowledgable and eager to provide the best service to each person visiting the restaurant as well as a bit help understanding the plenty options present on the menu! Amazing and a we ll go again place!!

A traditional authentic run family restaurant. Having recently moved from Bradford, which if you don't know it has some of the best curry houses in Britain, it's been difficult finding somewhere that compares. The decor is a little dated but look beyond that as there's a reason this place has been here so long and that's the food and customer care. Will definitely return!!
