Amazing fish and chips (hubby had the triple of black pudding, sausage and haggis which he said was fab!) - cooked fresh as well.
And what better view for lunch than this?
Bit pricey but definitely worth it as the food was delicious.
We ate in the car as we had our excitable dog with us but hubby said it was lovely inside.
We stopped here for a coffee on our way into and out of the West Highlands.
It is split into two areas, coffee/tea/snack area and restaurant. You get shown to your seats by a host.
Now as we only stopped for a coffee and scone each (both excellent) I can't comment on the food the sold (dush and chips mainly) but it looked really nice.
Coffee was not the cheapest but was of high quality, as were the fresh, homemade scones and high quality jam they came with.
It cost us about £15 for scones and coffee, which we polished off and continued on our way!
After a long day walking I was directed to this cafe. Wow it was really nice! The atmosphere was great, the staff very very friendly and helpful. I had the burger which was really good and especially the soft bun. I also thought I would try the Macaroni and Cheese bites with chili sauce. Wow! Really good. This place has a really wide assortment of food choices and after I preferred I wish I would have gotten the fish bites. Can’t go wrong here give them a try you won’t be sorry.
Was going to go to another place for dinner, but they were cash only due to issues after an extreme weather event. So we decided to try The Real Food Cafe, and I am so glad we did! Slow combustion fire to keep us warm and give that special ambiance. Very reasonable price drinks and excellent beer, no complaints about the wine either.
We decided to try the extra large onion rings for an entree, best onion rings ever! They were extra large as promised, but the batter was as good a tempura I’ve had and the onion was cooked perfectly. Like a great pasta, they were just right, still had body but so tender and delicious. A little sweet chilli sauce for dipping and voila, empty basket. Add to this staff who were friendly, helpful and attentive, you have a winning combination
Sincerely,
Graham
Came here as a party of 5 for a quick dinner whilst staying at the local campsite. We were between this and The Tyndrum in but chose here because it had more vegetarian options for one of us. There were lots of options and the portions were very generous (look at those fish & chips!) Food was tasty and quick which was needed after a long day travelling. We tried the fish & chips, the BBQ burger, vegetarian baked cheese platter and some loaded fries. Definitely recommend this place
We wanted a gluten free, nut free cake to celebrate my daughter's birthday while we were holidaying near Crianlarich. So glad we found The Real Food Cafe - they made sure we got some slices of gluten, nut free cake on the morning of her birthday to celebrate!
We had some food in their cafe and it was all lovely! They have good options for vegetarian/vegans as well.
Definitely recommend this place!
We stopped over at this cafe for coffee while we were charging our car, so I can’t comment on the food, but their deluxe hot chocolate is amazing! It’s rich, sweet and creamy, and comes loaded with marshmallows and decadent whipped cream. It’s the perfect drink for when it’s cold and wet outside (which it was).
The cafe also has a good selection of cakes which I wished I tried, and the tables around us all seemed to be enjoying their fish and chips. If I do come back, I need to try their fish and chips and cakes as well for sure.
Service is excellent. Even though the cafe is bustling, the staff do their best to seat everyone and ensure they are comfortable.
Stopped off for lunch whilst walking the WHW.
Cafe was busy, but service was pretty speedy.
I had the gluten free haggis and chips. Haggis was tasty and the batter was nice and crisp and not too greasy.
Would recommend stopping off, particularly if you have coeliac disease!
A really nice stop on the WHW. Staff is friendly and you can hangout next to the fireplace or by the windows watching all the birds at the feeders. I also like that they've got vegan/vegetarian options for most things and there's even a large gluten free menu if needed.
We got the haddock and chips and smoked haddock patties, Both were delicious. Cute atmosphere inside and the staff were all helpful. I really have nothing negative to say about it. I'd definitely revisit it myself.
We stopped off on the way home for brunch . You get a table then goto the till to order and pay and you tell the server your table number and once your food is ready they bring it to your table. . The food was nice the service was good nice friendly atmosphere but its a busy wee place . And the best of all it's pet friendly. There should be more places like this it has a dog and boot dog wash
The food was lovely and the staff were friendly there is a lovely selection of cakes as well and the hot food the real food cake is famous for. We stop here twice so we could try breakfast and lunch. Would highly recommend the fish and chips. The restaurant is dog friendly and very very busy, both indoor and outdoor seating is available. The car park is small and full each time we visited.
Excellent food and outstanding service. Every customer arriving was greeted immediately and courteously and quickly managed even when the cafe was at full capacity. Although every table was full we waited less than ten minutes for our food to arrive. It was hot and delicious. Staff were friendly, engaging and helpful. Great menus and good choices for vegetarians.
The award-winning fish and chips were amazing. We can also recommend the chowder. The veggie soup wasn't great so steer clear of that one, everything else, though, really delicious.
Really good place for some good food on the WHW. Staff was super friendly, vegan haggis and fish and chips were delicious! We were lucky to be there at a sunny time so we could rest on the picnic benches in the sun, but they had a good amount of indoor seating as well, and an indoor tap for refilling water bottles
Excellent place.
We are 2 weeks in Scotland and this morning we’re looking for a place for breakfast, but there are none available, only in hotels and Inns.
So we drove 1/2 hour to this place.
I highly recommend it!
Service is by a family, all look the same, the food is tasty and the atmosphere is amazing.
Great refueling place for campers and backpackers. Nice filling food, local ingredients and a good selection of allergy friendly and vegan food. I even had vegan haggis! You can throw away litter and there is a water tap outside.
My dad and I split the Highland sampler and the cheese board. Both were incredible. The fish chowder was delicious.
