What a hidden gem of a place beautiful setting food and helpful cheery staff we liked it so much we are going again this Saturday. There is also around 50 different gins to choose from
Having a family holiday down the road so thought we'd treat ourselves to a meal out. It was a lovely warm and welcoming pub! Great food, great choice and reasonably priced!! I would highly recommend a visit here!!
From treats given to the dog to speed of service and very good food, this has been a great eating experience. We arrived early so the place was virtually empty, but we did have a lovely meal of cheeseburger and chicken burger. Very good indeed! So, if the burgers weren't so good last June rest assured they are exceptional now!
Wonderful inn!! Visiting from Canada and stayed the night. Full English for breakfast! Thank you David for the wonderful hospitality! !! Highly recommend!
Superb stay and food. Warm welcome. Would thoroughly recommend it. Can't wait to go again. :)

Just had lunch at the Cridford. Lovely welcoming staff, dog friendly always a bonus and they weren't concerned about my fidgeting 2 year old exploring. Beautiful stained glass windows and climbing roses. It makes it look very inviting. Adequate parking and the food was brilliant. Will definitely go back
An excellent lunch in a charming location. Top quality food and drink, with thoughtful service.
Great historic Inn. Warm and welcoming. 101 gins - go on I dare you! I tried two and loved them. Good food. Great ambience & superb team. We had a great night. Libby & James - amazing! Memorable for all the right reasons. Highly recommended
Amazing Sunday Lunch. Highly recommended to all my family and friends. Thank you for a lovely afternoon xxx
Great meal, great staff and a very accommodating landlord.
Great atmosphere, good food, great chef, ambitious new management, highly recommended !
Food, staff, GIN, and atmosphere, everything you want from your local!!!
We popped in for a roast after being unable to go for a long walk as planned as the weather was shocking. Every cloud has a silver lining as they say because we wouldn't have been able to visit if it wasn't for the rain.
The staff were incredible, the food was delicious (all too often pubs get away with serving lack luster Sunday Roasts but certainly not here), the venue it's self is like something out of a book. It's all so picturesque and idealistic (even in the rain).
Definitely worth a visit!
We went for a family meal, the staff were extremely helpful. Some members of our party have mobility issues and they suggested an ideal table to sit at and an easier way to enter the Inn. We all, thoroughly enjoyed our meals and they were very helpful as I am gluten intolerant, lots of options and advice. We all felt that we would like to go back again, when we next all meet up.
What a great place to stay! I arrived early and was allowed to check in early, which was a real bonus. The brilliant lady on the bar served me a lovely pint of Avocet and in no time had made the effort to book me a cab for a short while later for me to get to a wedding party. Great. Room very comfortable with nice cotton bedding. Both slept very well. Breakfast in the morning was absolutely top-notch, perhaps the best we've ever had at a hotel, b&b or inn. Can't recommend it enough.
Excellent lunch. They came to our rescue because we were let down by the Artichoke inn in Christo. Well attended and polite by staff. Chief went the extra mile by creating a yeast free gravy to go with the roast pork. Will highly recommend them. Beautiful and quiet surrounding. Dogs welcome.
Stepped back in time with a week long stay in the excellent Cridford Inn.
We were made very welcome by the staff and the owners Ness and Paul who were very sociable, friendly and helpful.
The Inn itself is a true piece of living history, the rooms were clean comfortable and tastefully in keeping with the old building's charm and style.
Professionally run as a family business
Paul's breakfasts were the best you'll get made from local produce (we even got to meet the farmer who supplies it one night)
The food and service were excellent and the chef Kris even came to check with the later diners for feedback on his fare.
Well stocked pub, excellent restaurant and well run inn with a phenomenal history (Google it!) in a very quiet rural setting, me and my wife had a very relaxing week in the lovely Cridford Inn, would love the opportunity to return someday and hope it's still in the hands of it's current owners if/when I do
Limited accessibility as there are small steps all over the place and no emergency cord in the disabled toilet. The food had plenty of options for gluten free and veggie and the staff were super friendly and willing to check food and drink for my allergies.
We had a wonderful short break, from the very first night the staff and locals made us very welcome, you know who you are 😅. A beautiful building and a lovely location, we both slept well on both nights. Would highly recommend as a tucked away stay with easy access to to the rest of Devon.
Amazing! yes Amazing! Very tasty flavours with our meal.
Service was second to none and made to feel welcome special and looked after..
We had the Nachos the CFC dips and chips and the rhubarb dessert was clever witty and tasted Great!
Can't comment on the rooms, only came for Sunday lunch. Up there with the best roast I've had in Devon. Great old building. Lovely service. Great.
A fantastic country pub. Local fresh food with a regularly changing menu. Excellent friendly service and highly recommended. They also do alcohol free beer and cider 😊👍we didn't stay so cannot comment on the accommodation.
