Truro Hash House Harriers had a great Christmas bash here. The upstairs room is ideal and everyone was so helpful and nothing too much trouble. Great beer but that goes without saying!! Thanks so much.

The menu, food and staff are faultless! The best meal I've had out in a very long time and the best service too. The kids menu is also fantastic, my children loved it. Colouring books and pencils were provided :) I can't wait to get back to this lovely restaurant, Sunday roast next :)

Great atmosphere and a great evening! You made The Placebo Effect and Flying Saucepans (my sons and mates bands) very welcome. They all enjoyed themselves. We will definitely be returning! Thank you!

I attended the Old Ale House three nights in a row and they had live music every evening, it was good to hear "real music". On one occasion the music was Cornish folk music. I would love to return and listen to the musicians again, it was such a unique sound. There are plenty of real ales on sale and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed. Cider is also on sale. There is a room upstairs that has a quieter atmosphere.

I avoided coming here for the longest time based on the exterior - but it's probably my favourite pub in Truro. Unlike most pubs it's nice and dark on the inside and has plenty of seating. It has barrels of free monkey nuts which I've never seen anywhere else. The staff were friendly and there was a good range of drinks.

Atmospheric with sawdust on the floor, classic rock on the speakers, and a large selection of real and craft beers, all well kept. Great city centre pub.been in previous years and always enjoyed it.

very nice pub and there's free nuts! the selection of ciders were on point, and although I don't drink beer, there seemed like a lot of good options there too. I always get ID'd there which is nice, makes me feel young 🤪 it is also a very queer friendly place so if you are gay, GO!

Good selection of cask ale including Bass, reasonably priced. Also, there were Craft ale and cider available, too.

Great selection of real ales, all served by knowledgeable and welcoming staff. This place is likely to suffer from it's own success as space and seating are at a premium...although I'm not sure that there isn't another floor upstairs, but being disabled, this would be out of reach for me. Quite amazingly they allow you to bring in outside food and although one review on here mentioned 'not smelly fish and chips', on my visit a table of 3 had exactly that and nobody seemed to bother them? Maybe the staff were just to busy? Be aware that CAMRA members are entitled to 10% discount on the home brewed selection. Free WiFi. No car park. Highly recommended. UPDATE: Apologies for the fish and chips meals. Somehow I have managed to confuse 2 entirely different establishments...only one of which is TOAH in Truro. So possibly the other commentators comment on this food source, as being not acceptable, is the correct one. I must have a check up for my mental abilities?

A proper old style pub right down to the peanut husks on the floor. Dark wood, amazing beer and cider selection. A mudt for truro visitors.

Lovely to have friendly service, and a rara pint of Bass. Brilliant to find that free monkey nuts available, and drop the shells on the floor! Not seen that since a business visit to Den Hague, followed by a trip to a similar bar.

Well what can I say about this place. If you love your beer then this is the place to go. Great selection of own brewed beers from Skinner's brewery. A great back wall of craft beers as well as ciders. The staff were on another level. Great knowledge of what they served and incredibly friendly. Whenever I come back to Cornwall on business I will be going here for my evening beer.

For a nice pint of Skinners beer this is the place to go, it's very casual, relaxed and family friendly. We often go in with out son who is now 7 months old and the staff is very helpful with any needs you may have. My husband's favorite thing abiut this ale house thst they supply you with peanuts in the shell you can enjoy with your pint. (reminds him of bars back home in the US). You can bring your own food to eat and on weekends there is normally live music.
