Called in for an early anniversary lunch and the food was excellent. Scallops and belly pork for my husband and I had the fishcakes and then the chicken. All beautifully cooked. Second visit and will be back.

Busy Truro restaurant specialising in fish (as the name implies). Comfortable atmosphere, excellent fish & steak was fine.

This small excellent seafood restaurant could be easily overlooked. Tucked away in a side street. The decor is fashionably sparse. The food was very good. I had the hake Wellington, good pastry and the fish within was perfectly cooked. A butter sauce was provided. The rest of the table had the seafood platter, a good mix of the local catch. The mussels and scallops were perfectly cooked. The desserts were large and well presented. The '' cream tea dessert was clever and looked great. I had the sticky toffee pudding, the sponge was a little dry, good amount of sauce and ice cream helped. The service was understated and friendly, perfect for me. Quite pricey but worth it.

What a wonderful time we had having a date night dinner here! First of all, thanks to the staff we had a cozy sitting with some space. They were very welcoming! We ordered the crispy squid from the tapas menu, the seafood chowder, and the scallops with scotch eggs. All the seafood elements were utterly delicious and fresh! For mains, we ordered the local fish medley and the Indonesian curry. We especially loved the Indonesian curry. Being a Bengali, I'm very particular about fresh fish/seafood. And they exceeded expectations with every course! We'd definitely go back there.

Delicious fish menu, beautifully presented and served by friendly staff. We enjoyed the crab nachos and gurnard yakitori for starters followed by pollock and sole for main and even managed frangipane and hooked on chocolate for dessert. All was delicious! Upstairs doesn't have the atmosphere of the main, dpwnstairs restaurant and the music was a little too loud.

Collectively one of the best meals we have ever had. This place is tucked just off the main stretch of shopping and as soon as you get inside you feel as if you are by the harbour and ready to enjoy the delights of today's catch. We noticed they staggered the booking times so people didn't all arrive together given the current circumstances. The service we received was the best I have had to date. So polite, welcoming, knowledgeable and humble. We are as a 6 (4 adults, a 4 year old and a 2 year old). All were catered for with excellent freshly caught and cooked food. We were even able to pre book ( we were advised this was catch/delivery dependent)a lobster as it was my wife's 30th. The entire experience from start to finish was without fault and we were only gutted we did not book to go again before we head home tomorrow. Thanks to such an incredible team!

Went for a meal for the second time at the Hooked! Restaurant in Truro. I had mussels to start followed by the scallops as a main. My friend had the scallop starter then fish and chips for her main. The scallops were cooked well although I found the texture of the hogs pudding a bit mushy but the flavours compliment each other well. The mussels were good, I chose to have the garlic and white wine sauce which was a little bland but still nice to eat. The fish and chips were lovely! The batter was light and crispy, it also came with homemade tartar sauce which was delicious. We had a 40minute wait between the starter and main course but overall the food was good and wasn’t too expensive. The atmosphere and decor was nice and the service was good. I would come here again.

Excellent seafood, friendly staff, great venue! We had a mix of different seafood courses leading to the seafood platter, including tempura oysters, scallops, monkfish etc. All were delicious, fresh, beautifully cooked. The timings were perfect, we had a lovely relaxed meal. Venue had great acoustics, we could talk normally without issue even tho the place was 90% capacity. Very impressed all round

Will definitely dine here again next time I am in Truro (the only city in Cornwall). The service and food was great. Amazing ambience, you can choose between ground floor seating (with view of the open plan kitchen) upstairs (a little quieter) or balcony. The highlight is the selection of locally sourced seafood.

Wow what a wonderful find! We ate at your restaurant last night and the food was out of this world! We hadn’t booked and your staff happily accommodated us 5 adults and a hi chair. To say we were blown away by the quality and freshness of the food would be an understatement. We had fresh oysters, mussels, padron peppers, anchovies and the crab bisc. The oysters were so fresh and the mussels were huge! Your host was really friendly and accommodating bringing over colouring for my daughter she made us feel looked after throughout the duration of our meal. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough if you want delicious fresh sea food, this is where you should go!!! Thanks again so sad we don’t live closer so we can come here again and try some of the other items on the menu!! Didn’t manage to take any picture as we scoffed the lot!

Highest quality seafood restaurant. Amazing food and amazing service. They had staffing issues and they called me and told me they had staffing problems and they might be a slight inconvenience to us. It wasn’t in the realm of inconvenient, it was friendly and informative and at times fun. I highly recommend this place. You will need to book.

Lovely little restaurant in Exeter. I don't usually go for seafood particularly but thought why not. The decor is lovley and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the fish curry - was absolutely delicious. My husband had the lobster and steak and really enjoyed his food too. We would definitely come again if we were in the area. This restaurant has made me want to visit more seafood restaurants =)

First time at Hooked tonight, certainly won't be the last time. We had the crab nachos and Fritto Misto for starters and then had the seafood platter for mains, everything was beautifully presented and tasted divine, the chefs are amazing as we're the waitresses. I love this place.

Really nice place. Three of us had dinner here. Gorgeous seafood, I had grilled sardines to start, and seafood gratin for mains, followed by Affogato. Everything was so tasty, staff were very friendly. Would definitely eat here again.

Vibey little eatery tucked away from the main streets. Food was excellent - very cheffy, and the staff delightful. Modern interior that will appeal to the young and the style conscious. Service was a tad slow, but because of the standard of the cooking, I would put this down to the care the chef takes in preparing your food. If you’re not in a hurry, this is unlikely to phase you. And to be honest, once you’ve tasted the food you will forgive the wait. I did. I’m not even docking a star!
