Stopped at this pub on the way to Wales and have to say we felt so welcomed and at home. Everyone was friendly and chatty and we felt like a local. Excellent value for money and very dog friendly. Would recommend if you want a good value for money pub with a great atmosphere.

My wife, myself and our dog visited the Black horse in early June we had been staying in Bradford on Avon- where for some reason most pubs were not doing food and those that were, were not dog friendly. A quick search on the Internet found us the Black Horse a few miles away in Trowbridge upon enter
What can I say my group and I have visited here several times. The service is fab and the people even better. Can not believe that a main meal can cost you so little and be so good and very enjoyable. We may be loud but we are coming back. Thank you
Absolutely superbly friendly, helpful, informative and friendly team behind the bar. Great (Family) atmosphere, superb, well prepared and presented food!! Such a pity this venue is 30+ miles from home. Run down on the inside - but well worth a visit!! Thanks for looking after us.
Very enjoyable place to eat. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Dogs are welcomed inside. The atmosphere is very friendly and the food is nicely cooked at a reasonable price.
Great pub and lovely staff, Cinda there was so kind and attentive to what we wanted and took time out to come speak to us. Would highly recommend visiting here if you want a pub with nice atmosphere, good food and fairly priced drinks.

The Black Horse is a great traditional pub in a good location. We are always made to feel welcome by their friendly staff and landlady. The food is excellent value for money, we just had a very nice large Sunday roast with drinks for under £20 for us both - you can’t ask for better than that.

Had a party of 16 gave us a whole section of the pub a bit hot but the kitchen coped really well nice happy staff a really good evening
In the pool table area it was a little dark due to the blinds being down but seeing as it's on a main road in Trowbridge it's understandable, the music was a little to loud for my liking (but that's just me) The food came out hot and I must say it was nice when it came out (seem to take a while) fri

My husband, myself and our two dogs visited this pub 3 times in early November. Staff were lovely and it is so dog friendly. Food was excellent and such good value - hence our returning 3 times! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
