We had a few meals here over our 4 day weekend break. The innitial welcome, the quality of the food and the service have all massively improved. There is a sign outside that mentioned a pie and a pint for £15 on one of the nights - this is great value as its not just a pie you'll get but a full and lovely meal.

Fantastic food and welcoming staff. We came as a group of 9. Came to visit from Cambridge and will definitely visit here if we do come back up these ways. Beer battered Cod and chips and a brownie for dessert. I've had A LOT of brownies in my life and this was the best I've ever tasted. Could not fault the place. The scenery outside is amazing too, well worth the visit if you're in the area.

Great place for a drink or a meal. It's a very unpretentious place but has great food, good choice if drinks, fantastic views and a large free car park. No kids play area though, but they did had a children's menu!?. Also, the wine choices are somewhat lacking.

Visited at the beginning of October 2022 at we were staying nearby. Had a meal in the restaurant (mains only) and a couple of drinks. Very nice pub and restaurant. Traditional decor (clean and tidy). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good and tasted great. Prices on food and drinks were reasonable. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.

Recently opened again after Covid and made to feel welcome by the new landlord, looking to extend service but asked to add following. Open at the moment Thursday to Sunday, not hot food, at the moment, only serving cold food. Recently opened a camping site, £25 per night for camping vans on hard surface, £18 per night for tents in the field. Amenities are limited, but welcome to use the services of the pub. So if travelling along A66 and need a safe place to stay and looking for a comfortable place then give them a try, do phone before you go to ensure they have space.

Absolutely amazing! Lovely place, great service and delicious food! I can not recomment the ribs enough! A feast with a view. Tummy very happy now! (The place is pretty busy, I was actually very lucky to get photos without people)

The roast pork baguette with gravy (containing more pork), is a thing of legend. Absolutely outstanding, apologies the pic was taken with not much left I struggled to pause. Well done chef. Genius.

Another great restaurant attached to a pub. The waitress was helpful and efficient, helping with my partners intolerance to gluten, tomato and peanut. The meal was excellent.

I loved it, food was fantastic! But my partner however had a negative experience, ordered a side of chips that never came. Then some sweet potato fries turned up which we didn't order but it had been 15mins and our meals were nearly finished. My partner doesn't like sweet potato fries and I was stuffed from my own meal... Not stingy on the gravy which is always a positive
