This place was so good from the offset. A warm greeting and friendly introduction to the room. Goodies left in the room including complimentary flapjacks, hot chocolate, a beer, dog treats and a tennis ball as well booked a dog friendly room. I have absolutely nothing to complain about, the room was lovely, the shower/bath was hot and the bed comfy. A really enjoyable stay, we wished we were staying longer but we will definitely be coming back.

Wow! What a hotel!!! We stayed at the Queens Head hotel for a long weekend to enjoy all that the Lake District has to offer. What an amazing stay we had. Firstly, there are dog friendly hotels and there are DOG friendly hotels. The Queens Head have thought of everything when it comes to accommodating your furry friend. They offer an evening menu just for your dog and even a bowl of sausages for breakfast! Another great touch was the 'walk from your door' pamphlets. There is a choice of 3 different circular walks depending on how brave your are feeling. This meant we could just leave the car and just concentrate on enjoying the beautiful scenery. We can't fault anything about the Queens Head and I would go as far as saying it is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The rooms were immaculate and the food was superb. Of course, you can have all of the above but if you don't have the staff, then it means nothing. But of course it is safe to say the staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. We want to say a massive thanks to Sam and ALL the team at Queens Head. We will definitely be back!

Great hotel, very friendly service, that bit extra in the room; bottle of beer, fresh milk, fresh coffee and flapjacks. Other handy things, boot bags available to keep muddy boots tidy and blankets if you fancied the fresh air outside. Service in the bar and restaurant was excellent, good range of decent food. Beers as you’d want from Robinson’s are excellent. Breakfast has great choice and was good quality. Finally, great to be able to leave the car after checkout- head off for a walk and return to car at the pub!

Wow what an amazing find of a pub! We stopped in on a Sunday lunchtime without a booking and the staff were quick to help and get us a table. The Sunday lunches were amazing a good size but could get extras of items. I was going to take a picture of my dinner but it was that good I ate it straight away! Amazing venue has a proper homely feel and very friendly staff. Definitely going back but will book next time to guarantee we get a table!

From the moment we arrived at the Queens Head Hotel in Troutbeck, we knew our stay would be something special. The service we received was nothing short of exemplary. Every staff member we encountered was not only professional but also genuinely friendly and accommodating. Our room was a delightful surprise - spacious, impeccably clean, and tastefully decorated, providing a perfect blend of comfort and elegance. It became our cozy retreat after each day's adventure. The food at the hotel was a highlight of our stay. Each meal was a culinary delight, with a fantastic variety of choices, all prepared to perfection. The chefs here truly understand the art of cooking, and it was evident in every dish we savored. But what truly set our experience apart was the staff's wonderful treatment of our dog, Ben, an Airedale. They went above and beyond to ensure he was as comfortable and pampered as we were. This level of attention to our furry family member made our stay at the Queens Head Hotel truly heartwarming and memorable. In summary, our stay was an absolute pleasure. We highly recommend the Queens Head Hotel to anyone visiting Troutbeck. Whether you're seeking great service, fantastic food, or a pet-friendly atmosphere, this hotel excels in every aspect. Thank you for making our stay so special!

Amazing pub. The food is really tasty, we had a vegetarian roast. The sticky toffee pudding I had for desert was also amazing and really tasty!! The service here was also wonderful with Scott who was a really lovely waiter. The atmosphere is really cosy too after a long winter day in the Lake District

The Queens head is fantastic, we enjoyed a visit after walking in the fells nearby, and enjoyed a meal. The meal was reasonably priced, and the beer on offer made us want to stay all afternoon. I have not left a room rating since we did not stay, but if the rest of the pub is anything to go by I imagine they are fantastic too.
