We love this fish and chip shop. My son suffers from coeliacs disease and loves fish and chips. Before I knew about the wee hurry we had to wait until the last Sunday of the month to use our local fish and chip shop but now we can have fish and chips anytime we want. The food is always fresh and tastes amazing. The staff are clued up on cross contamination too. Love the monk fish supper. Would highly recommend

Found this place on the docks in Troon after recommended by friends. Great selection of seafood and the best double fried chips ever tasted. Everything fresh straight from the sea and not going back and forth from inland fishmongers. We went for the sustainable whiting. £3.70 for two pieces! The place not impressive to look at but serve great honest food. Staff were equally great. Will be visiting in the summer and eating fresh fish and chips there rather than in the car as we did on a freezing Saturday in February.

Absolutely amazing!!! we had Monkfish, sole, cod, spicy onion rings, mushy peas. Monkfish was so fresh & super tasty, just right amount of cooking time, almost melted in my mouth! Sole was really fresh too, their tartare sauce was tasty too!! Kids had cod & chips, they seemed to have enjoyed their meals. Portions are huge, we never managed to finish them all. The only thing was I found onion rings were quite crispy, however, little bit too oily. Other than that, perfecto! 👌

Wee trip to Troon, and had googled best fish and chips. Few strange reviews on trip advisor, but we went with it anyway, so glad we did! Amazing fish and chips! I had monkfish, was spot on! Haddock was great too! Highly recommended!!

Visited for the first time today. A wonderful hidden gem. Will definitely be back. Service isn't the fastest but as everything seemed to be made fresh its well worth a short wait.

Finally got to try it, drove to it 3 times previously to find humongous queues after many recommendations. It was the first day of June this year and was glad to have to tried it. I’m not a huge sea food lover by any means but it is by far the nicest fish & chips I’ve ever had. My mrs got the tempura prawns & scampi and again they tasted fresh with a lovely light crispy batter. Would highly recommend and would return. Price - it was a little expensive £32 for our takeaway meal & 3 cans of juice but the service by the girl with the red hair was great and it’s a one off with high quality so you don’t mind. Atmosphere - it is great as it’s right at the Troon Port/Harbour so a great view all around you. Also just around the corner from the main entrance if you go behind the little houses buildings is a beautiful car park which faces on to the sea. Where you can eat your lunch/dinner.

Simply the best and we've tried a few. Fish so fresh and batter so thin and crispy, the chips perfectly cooked. Have to give this a big 10 out of 10. Delicious

Great place, but the fish was a bit greasy. I had the haddock and chips and my other half had hake and chips. He thoroughly enjoyed his fish and chips. Fantastic homemade tartare sauce.

I live here many years now and I have to say, those are the best battered scampi I ever had. Very light and tasty batter and it's been served with a very tasty sauce. I would give 10 stars. There absolutely delicious 😋 worth the money.

Came down with my partner after hearing so many great things about this place. Food was very good, no grease at all like in most chip shops. I had the haddock which was lovely but would have wanted 2 bits of fish and they were a bit stingy with the salt and vinegar but that’s my only complaints. Lovely staff, didn’t wait long, great food. I look forward to coming back.

Went here for the first time to see what all the fuss was about. Wasn't much of a que when we arrived, which was good. My partner had the haddock, and I had the sea bass. I wanted monkfish, but they had run out, unfortunately. Both suppers were really good, very tasty. The only moan I have, which I've deduced a star on the food for, is if I'm paying a tenner odd for a supper, I expect 2 bits of fish. That was very disappointing. Any chippy you go to, you get 2 bits with a supper and rightly so at the prices, especially now a days. The server girl was lovely as well. So overall really good, was worth the trip from Glasgow.

Best fish & chips that I've ever had! Followed the owner's recommendation and got the haddock - 10/10 :) Shop is just around the corner from a little park / green area with benches and a picnic table right by the water, perfect for a nice lunch with a view :)

Living in 1 of the best fishing ports in the uk (North Shields) fish and chips are a way of life and I must admit the haddock I had was as good if not better (not as big though) than from home so their recommendations and reviews are extremely well deserved

Unfortunate queues, but there is no doubt, the food is outstanding. You can choose from about 6 different kinds of fish, or lobster, scallops, and more. We waited in the queue for 1 hour and 10 minutes! Then sat at a table near the harbour and ate the most delicious fish and chips with sunset by the sea, so it was well worth the wait. My salmon was amazing, the most perfect light crispy batter.

Great selection of fish on menu likes of Monkfish that isn't available anywhere else. Good size portions and well priced. Wee Hurrie is always busy with people waiting to order and for the food. Due to location must dress accordingly to the weather as people have to queue up in open and wait up to 30 minutes for food but it is worth it. This place may not be for everyone but certainly is loved by loads. Love it.

Can't say much for atmosphere as it's a hole in the wall affair but the fish and chips we ordered were super tasty and crisp. Lost a star because when I asked if the tartare sauce was dairy free the staff member just said she didn't know and looked at me blankly - no attempt to look or up or ask another member of staff so was a bit annoying. But food was great and I'd definitely go back.

A real hidden gem that doesn't seem to advertise, yet is always extremely busy. Be prepared to wait for a good while both before ordering and then for your food to be ready, but it's worth the wait. Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had, and a real highlight of any trip to the area. Highly recommended.

One of the best chippies in the country, absolutely outstanding food time and time again. Haddock, cod, scampi you name it it’s fabulous at The Wee Hurrie. Take out and eat in your car round the corner from The Wee Hurrie looking out to sea. Smashing.

We make a point of trying award winning chippies, we've tried places all over the UK, this is still the best for me. Not sure why this doesn't win the Scotland one every year. Monkfish, King prawn tempura and spicy onion rings... amazing 👏
