Great staff, fabulous food and utterly wonderful service! Black Goo is the hottest spot in Tring... serving delicious classics, hot new trends, showstopping cakes and the best coffee in town! I rate this place very highly (in case that wasn't obvious) 🍽

This place is AMAZING! The best ever gluten free cakes (and not just the brownies) and the staff are so wonderfully friendly. You have to try it out!

I love it here, a very relaxing place with a great vibe. A great selection of cakes and you can even get gluten free options - although I do agree with one of the comments on here that a guard or maybe glass domes over the cakes (particularly at the front) would probably be a bit more hygienic. There are a few chairs and tables outside with blankets just in case it's gets chilly - it's got the lovely Hugge vibe going on here

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Sacha and the team for such an incredible baby shower yesterday! Everyone absolutely loved it and the food and cakes were out of this world. You had gone to so much effort and had decorated the place beautifully. You really couldn't do enough for us and I'm so grateful. Thank you xx

I've been meaning to write a view words on Black Goo for ages but life just got in the way! Black Goo is a fantastic place to go any time of the day. The counter is always full of mouth watering fresh food from Breakfast to scones to cakes to lunchtime food - the variety each day is what makes me come back time after time. Oh! not forgetting the amazing milkshakes which my boys adore. Sacha, Chris & team you should be very proud - you are doing an amazing job.

Thank you so much for throwing my sister the most wonderful baby shower on Saturday. I couldn't believe the effort you'd gone to and amazing attention to detail! The food was incredible and the decorations were gorgeous and so thoughtful. I can't wait to visit again and would not hesitate in throwing another event at your beautiful coffee shop. Thank you x

Our third visit just recently due to daughter visiting Tring Park. It’s definitely worth a visit and we’re all the way from Leeds. Great gluten free brownies and the best poached eggs ever. Looking forward to coming again

Best pancakes we've found without having to travel to America! Big portions too! Get there early, it gets busy. So pleased to have found such a great local coffee shop!

Really nice, eclectic little shop with great food, pleasant staff, and amusing decorations. We had a Vegan Goo brunch and a mini-vegan goo, and they were delicious. And *so*much*food*! I shared part of my full Vegan Goo with my husband and still could barely finish. Everything was fresh and hot and tasty. We particularly liked the bubble and squeak (which doesn't come on the mini, so you have to steal some from someone else if you get that. 😉) This was the first time I had "fresh" orange juice that didn't seem like it was, "fresh (from the carton)". Cold, tart, and delicious! If we're ever back in Tring, we'll stop again. Highly recommended! Update Sept 9, 2023: Stopped in again for more of the same delicious food. The first time wasn't a fluke - still delicious, friendly, and filling.

Loads of naughty cakes to choose from. Ideal place to stop when cycling as there are bike stands and seating outside. Staff were friendly and helpful - even filled my water bottles. Thanks - hope to stop by again!

Great little cake and coffee bistro at the top end of Tring high street. Small, quaint, retro but very nice.

A really nice place for brunch of afternoon tea. It can get busy so definitely worth booking in advance as it's a fairly small place. Staff are really friendly, food tastes great and if your looking for a slice of cake, you'll be happy with the size of them! Came for a birthday vegetarian afternoon tea and really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back again soon.

I’ve always had mixed feelings about Black Goo after not having the greatest experiences with service in there but my latest visit was amazing. I opted for the half good breakfast and every element was perfectly cooked, piping hot and extremely tasty. My baileys hot chocolate was topped with whipped cream and a cadburys flake which I left to melt inside. I wish hot chocolates stayed hot 😂 and I would have liked it to last forever - so nice. My friend had avocado on sliced muffins and poached eggs - it looked so simple and fresh and she devoured it. The cakes are enormous. Such generous portions for a reasonable price. We booked for a Saturday brunch and it was busy on arrival but quietened down. Tring high street has now a few more businesses in competition of black goo but it’s a staple in Tring that has outlasted many. The owner is friendly and approachable - she welcomes feedback and takes it on board. Visit for decent food offerings or coffee and cake - it doesn’t disappoint

Delicious selection of cakes and other treats. Very popular place, so probably best to pop on their website and book a table ahead of your visit to avoid disappointment. Failing that they offer a takeaway option. The desserts are yummy but the portions are huge, plenty big enough to share or eat in two sittings.

This place was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious, well portioned and tasty. The place had a great vibe and wasn’t too busy. It was a shame they didn’t accept the Amex small business discounts like other Black Goo’s. However, I would definitely come back here.

The food, the service, and the atmosphere were amazing. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was soo delicious and served promptly. I cannot fault this place. I would recommend calling in to reserve a table. It was busy when we went. We were able to get a table, without reserving, because a couple had left just as we arrived. We sat outside so it worked for us. To avoid disappointment, call up to reserve. You won't be disappointed. AND THEIR CAKES... oh my goodness. 1 slice is enough for 2 people. I will be going back to Tring.

Don't really know how to explain how incredible goo is. We first discovered them two years ago and put it this way; despite living half an hour away, we've returned for the most incredible and best vegan coffee and cake so many times that they now know our order and names. Goo, we love you.

The best atmosphere in Tring! Booked for lunch as it is always so well stocked with customers. Had a fantastic all day brunch (full goo) and was very envious of those people with room for the slabs of cake on offer! Shall be back for some of the epic cake and coffee ASAP!

Wife and I had lunch here on Thursday. Wife had pancakes and fruit while I had the sandwich of the day... open croque monsieur with bacon. Both were absolutely superb, really filling and great value. We were dog sitting for friends and can't wait to come back and visit Black goo again.

You have to visit Black goo. You simply have to. Why? Firstly; the food. Tasty, generous portions, an uncomplicated menu, a kids menu, and did I say tasty? Well, delicious. Let's go with that. Next; the cakes. YUM! Who even makes these? Give that person a medal immediately! We had the Bakewell tart cake for our wedding in April (yes, you can order cakes from Black goo!) and we also ordered a Cookies and Cream cake for my stepdaughter's birthday (which the staff brought out to us with a candle and their best singing voices!). Look, the cakes are out of this world and there are gluten free and vegan choices, too. The staff? Attentive, chatty, caring and amazing.. every single one of them. Honestly, this place is a little bit of heaven. Love, love, love.

Love this place! We visited while we were staying in Wendover a few years back and came back this weekend and were so happy to see it’s thriving after lockdown. We came in for late lunch on Saturday with no booking and got to sit down immediately even though it was busy. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options including really delicious vegan cake options too and great specialty coffee. The cakes are all amazing, definitely recommend! They also do a high tea that we saw people enjoying which looks like a feast! Very lovely staff and a beautiful interior as well.veg
