Great local quaint pub...good atmosphere full of locals but still made to feel welcome by the staff/ landlord. Simple but fantastic local pub grub at reasonable prices which is hard to come by these days. We also made a friendly but fury friend (the pub dog) whilst we stayed for Sunday lunch, which won't be for everyone but we didn't mind.

We are regulars here and popped in yesterday for my Birthday meal with my family. As always it was just superb. All seven meals served at the same time, piping hot, beautiful and generous portions. Beer is really good here too and kept just right. Bar staff and Management as always are pleasant. When I first moved to Tring a good friend said to me about this pub "it's hard to walk past a good pub" how true.

Had this lovely woman with pink hair serve me and she was an absolute delight and a pleasure to deal with! Really made me feel welcome and it was an ideal spot to experience a true old British pub! Felt very old timey, homey and so historic! Only popped in for a quick drink! The outside patio was done up realy nice and I sent pictures of it back home for my mother! 12/10 will go back with the husband!

Hadn’t been here in years and certainly wasn’t vegan last time I came here. Was super impressed to see great vegan options on the menu, I opted for the bangers and mash which was flooded with gravy (exactly as it should be!) and was delicious, 100% recommend. The service was fantastic and friendly too and the decor was spot on; the perfect type of pub.

Solid pub with great classic food options. Not pricey and a nice little paved area outside as well. If you're local it would be a great place to drink regularly. Definitely had quite a few loyal customers

Just had an amazing lunch. I had lamb chops new pots carrots and green beans in an awesome gravy and the wife had a huge goats cheese and walnut salad. What can I say apart from go and try it yourself. Great portions and very friendly staff with a great choice of ales and lagers. I am stuffed. Had to eat some of the wife’s as she could not finish it.

Proper friendly pub, nice punters, dog friendly (four in at lunch time I think) popular landlord, great pint of Seafarers...... And the ham egg and chips is worth the trip. Best I've had. When they say hand carved they mean hand carved. 1/2 an inch thick at one end! Excellent. Thank you.

Lovely pub and a delicious food. This is a rare find and such a gem! Had a nice lunch (salad was super fresh and tasty!), beer, toffee pudding and a coffee! Super friendly waitress, kind and welcoming locals (I came from London). I had a really amazing time and will be back soon! I highly recommend this pub, not because Keanu Reeves had also enjoyed fish and chips recently, but because this pub in a tiny English town, is awesome!

Lovely welcoming, traditional English pub set on the edge of Tring Town centre with plenty of parking close by. Excellent pub food came with generous helpings. Cask ale was very well kept and staff were very friendly. Ability to eat outdoors at the back if required although we sat at one of the comfortable tables near the bar. Wish this pub was much closer to where we live as we would regularly visit it. Would not hesitate to recommend it to others if you like good beers, decent food and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
