Review Glantaff Inn - Treharris

Been here a few times and the welcome you get is second to none. You'll need to book if you want to guarantee a table, which speaks for itself. It's deceptively big, but that does not mean you have to wait long for meals. Everything we've had here has been excellent. Portion sizes are very plentiful and I've still not had enough room to try the puddings yet. Perhaps I'll start with them next time:-)

10/10 great welcome as I stepped into the bar asked if I could bring in a dog no problem. I ordered a Sunday Lamb Roast it was delicious had brownie with ice cream dessert all very tasty staff very attentive. Stephen (landlord) and landlady delightful especially after I had a bad experience in a nearby pub in Mountain Ash I would highly recommend this place A* thank you

Nice friendly atmosphere from staff and customers 😀. In fact, 3 older gents (regulars) who were offered complimentary chips and fish by the manager offered me to take some. Which was a lovely gesture, both by the management and the gents 👏 😁.. I had a nice Lamb and mash. It is not a Gastropub, but as per above, it is a nicely decorated local pub, serving food with a great feel 👏

First time visiting Glantaff Inn. Very friendly staff, so nice and warm on a cold evening. They managed to squeeze us in despite having lots of reservations. We had a lovely meal at a very good price!

Super welcoming team and atmosphere on Monday lunch time! A gem of a stop off from the Taff Trail. Thank you for your care of us, our babies and bikes! Nothing was too much trouble and lovely food and facilities. Look forward to coming back!

So the pub itself is very pleasant, however, some staff could be a bit more friendly, the manager was brilliant and catered for us. The food is expensive for what it is however the meat was great. The desserts we got were not cooked however the owner/manager sorted this out for us and sorted it on the bill too. The pub is lovely and the locals are friendly too.

Had the most amazing valentines meal at the glantaff inn. The service was amazing also, we come here often and it's such a warm relaxing atmosphere with one very good head chef. Every member of staff makes you feel welcome. Best pub in the valleys for definate😊

A party of 3 people visiting for food after a long day of riding trails at Bike Park Wales. Really impressed overall, great place to get some decent quality food. Gorgeous hunters chicken was served in a claypot, the 16oz rump steak was HUGE and very impressive, the cajun chicken was well seasoned but lacked the 'wow factor' of the other two dishes. Beers were excellent - A decent pint of Guinness! Overall, really happy we chose to visit and would recommend. Total bill was £85 for 3 starters, 3 mains, and 6 pints of beer and cider, which I think is totally reasonable. Would've loved to have had room to try the desserts!

We called at 12.30pm and we're fitted in for a 2.30pm Sunday lunch. The food was amazing, some of the best lamb i have ever tastsed! , The service fantastic, all of the srving staff were attentive and polite. The atmosphere was second to none, the owners always around and talking to customers, with treats for kids and our furry child! I can not recommend this place enough! We will be back soon for meal off the regular menu. Thank you all for an amazing, relaxed experience! See you soon

Nice spot just off the highway with smoking and non-smoking outdoor areas on separate sides. Good food, friendly staff. Clean toilets.

Family meal with my fussy kids 8yo and 10yo on a mid week evening. Service was swift and friendly. The home made meals were absolutely spot on. Deserts were fantastic too

I went to the Glantaff Inn with a small group of friends. We all agreed that the meal was pleasantly presented and very tasty. The pub itself has been nicely decorated but we felt it was over crowded as the tables were much too close to each other causing an issue when people wanted to move in and out. I spent much of my time getting up and down to allow people on the next table to move around which was very annoying especially when eating and we couldnt help but encroach on each others space as I couldn't move my chair without hitting one of their's and they kept apologising for doing the same to me. The other issue we had was that the music was extremely loud causing it to be difficult to have a conversation. I would visit again but may ask for the seating not to be by the staircase in the hope that we would have more room.

Me and my husband dined her last night with friends and thd person behind the bar who i assume was thd landlord was very cheerful took time to interact with us at the bar and took great pleasure in letting us know about the food on offer on the menu you could tell how passionate he was about his homemade product s on the menu and i must say none of the food around the table disappointed us the pork burnt ends were amazing and my husband said his rib eye was bloody lovely and the best steak he has tasted in a long time . Will definatly be returning but i will say if you are thinking of dining here and having 3 courses don t eat too much through the day as you may go home stuffed as we did but who could resist rasberrh ruffle white chocolate cheesecake Well worth a visit you won t be disappointed with the welcomd the food or the value for money

You have to try this place! Went for Sunday lunch with family and friends which was absolutely delicious! Loved it so much we went back the following Thursday for steak and red wine night and it was honestly one of the best steaks I have had! Cooked to perfection! Mouth watering! Looking for an excuse to visit again now! Highly recommend and absolutely fabulous friendly service from our waitress

Lovely afternoon out with my college for a drive and we both decided to go for a lovely pint. As we entered into the Glantaff inn pub that had a lovely offset against a river, I felt this odd vibe. As I went to the bar a few people were at the bar and one guy looked me up and down and then they left. I thought that was odd but what I don't like is to come back to the same bar after 1 pint and to have a guy say whilst looking at me (I don't like the company so I'm leaving). I am highly offended racism or not that is not on, the bar tender gentleman didn't seem bothered so this is not a place that I feel comfortable. I am a British born guy and have British family heritage and I don't want to find in a nice pub to feel like I don't belong. Get your act together guys.

Last sitting for mother's day yesterday, table wasn't ready. Food was really lovely maybe a bit sparse on the meat, and not enough veg was available. Can't fault the staff, they were under some serious pressure and really busy. Maybe a little overbooked, not much room upstairs where we were sat. Won't put me off going again but maybe not on a busier day.

The food and the atmosphere was great. Portion size wasn't huge, but is was all top quality! Would definitely recommend a romantic meal! What I would say though is the drinks were quite expensive compared to other 'local' pubs around the area. All considered an excellent night out!

Phenomenal is the word I would describe this place. The food has been exceptional, clearly homemade. Great price on that and the drinks. Great little beer garden too. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger “I’ll be back”

Went to the Glan for my parents Golden anniversary. Staff were lovely and helpful and the food was stunning. My duck was cooked to perfection, rare and tender, hubby's well done rib-eye was beautifully tender as well. And proper chips!

Visited for Sunday lunch last weekend with family from Australia. Can honestly say the dinner was amazing in every way. From the service to the food itself. Well done Steve and staff for making this a great local pub. 👍🏻
