Went upstairs for the first time my word the food was amazing I had the fresh mussels 10/10 the wife had the fish 9/10 it’s only 10/10 when it’s my fish but seriously guys anybody reading this get urself along and try it out great wee waitress tae and the surrounding was great as well �

Brilliant service, made to feel so welcome. Staff very friendly and food gorgeous. Highly recommend. Also, their Xmas menus look very appetising
We were hurrying on a road trip up north and spotted this pub on Google maps. Safe to say we were not disappointed!
When we arrived at 5 it was quiet, but the lady who served us was really welcoming and put our minds at ease. A few minutes later it started to fill up, so it's clearly popular with the locals.
The food was absolutely delicious! Great sized portions and arrived in good time.
We had the steak & ale pie and the chicken gyros. The pie was definitely home made, with perfect puff pastry and a generous amount of meat & gravy.
But the gyros was at a level that surpassed all else! Instead of the classic wrap, it was deconstructed and kept on the skewers. The garlic mayonnaise and the herb flatbread were delicious.
Couldn't recommend it more, we will definitely be stopping by again if we are in the area.
Excellent food and service, very friendly staff, food freshly made, only reason dropped 1 star is because online prices don’t reflect current pricing and some items were not on the current menu. We ordered fish and chips, good sized portions, steak and ale pie, pastry was to die for, just melted in the mouth, tender meat, maybe could offer the option of extra gravy ( personal opinion) chicken gyros, again plentiful portion and tasty. Went at 7pm so fairly empty but signs of live music later on. Would definitely recommend and would visit again next time we are up here from Leicestershire.
After the Glinkinchie distillery my friends and I stopped here and we loved it so much! True pub feel but the food was spectacular. Don't be fooled by the outside. Walk around to the back and sit down in this music themed restaurant and be blown away. The food is hearty portions so I promise you won't leave hungry. Also, the chicken pakora was amazing!
Excellent value for money, very tasty wholesome food and great service. Cauliflower soup, Cajun chicken skewers and garlic mushrooms all recommend starters. Chicken stew, fish and chips and Thai green curry (of the week) were all tasty too.
We will definitely use here again.
Went tonight as a spur of the moment There was parties on but they accommodated us and found as a seat lovely staff and meal was superb would definitely recommend and we will be back
Steak Pie is amazing! Fish are massive. Burgers a little overdone but still good.

Never been before despite passing it every day for work, it was really nice food and very cheap drink compared to town prices, hardly spent any money and got a couple rounds of drinks and 2 course meal (had the rump steak it was cooked a wee bit more medium than rare but was still delicious). Went here for the start of my Christmas work night out and had a ball would definitely come back
This restaurant is amazing the food is amazing and reasonable the staff can't do enough for you very helpful.
Enjoyed a lovely meal as party of 11.. been on more than one occasion and always had lovely food and service.. one of out party said her food wasn't that hot on this occasion hence the 4 star. (She should have told them but didn't.)

Fabulous place in Tranent, worth travelling to, from Edinburgh. Fresh, delicious, home made food, excellent quality and affordable prices. Lovely and friendly staff. Highly recommended!
The place were really good. Very friendly and helpfull staff, lovely live music and a fantastic food. We were a big group and everything went very well, we enjoyed a lot.
They also have private parking, I would recommend 100%.

We came here for something to eat after taking our granddaughter to her Rainbows meeting as usual. We hadn't booked a table, but were able to get in, which was fantastic. Therer was an outside metal staircase to climb as well as a few internal stairs, so it could cause difficultes with someone who has mobility issues, although I did notice a downstairs restaurant, which was not open at that time. My husband chose the mushroom soup of the day and I chose haggis filo parcels with a whisky sauce to start with. I personally found the sauce a bit thick as it didn't pour very easily. Nonetheless, both starters were cleared from our plates. We both chose the beef and mushroom stroganoff with sautéed potatoes and topped with crispy onions. The stroganoff was sitting on top of the potatoes, and the sauce was absorbed into them. However, I wish the crispy onions had been more crispy to add more texture to the dish. My husband had a large glass of red wine and I drank hot water, which I had asked for. The surroundings were lovely and staff attentive, but as the restaurant got busy, the noise increased a bit, which after a long day at work is not always the best for me personally to cope with. All in all, I would really recommend this restaurant and we will definitely visit again. After all, there are many more dishes on the menu to try!
The meal was excellent. 6 adults and 2 kids.only downfall was the %10 surcharge. £13 50p that was added to the bill. Didn't see the small print on the bottom of menu.till I got home.8 and over surcharge. And I left a £ 5 tip.one kid getting left in the house next visit.
Good atmosphere, great food and very attentive staff. Will be back
