Excellent Service and Food
I visited this Restaurant a couple of weeks ago with my Godchild. Excellent service and lovely food, big portions. I liked it that they did not rush you, would definitely visit again.
One of the best Chinese restaurants I have had the pleasure of visiting. The Sweet and Sour fish, the Taiwanese Chicken, and of course, the Crispy Beef Steak in the standard sweetish Cantonese sauce, were dishes to remember for a lifetime. Superb food quality, and add that to the superb service. Of course, it does help that it is located in my favourite mall in Manchester.All in all, a great combined experience.

Well, we were in Trafford center for a movie when we decided to have some Chinese food, this place had lot of vegetarian options which made our job easy to choose our place for lunch. We started of with Steamed Seabass, prawn dumpling and Veg dim sum platter, they also had a chilli oil which really added to the flavour as I like my dishes hot and spicy. Well the surprise came in the main course on the most simplest of things that was Fried Rice, the quantity was just so little that it wouldn't be enough for one person. We did have to order two of them once we saw the quantity and moreover it doesn't justify the price £3.20. This place is pricy but the least you can do is provide adequate quantity. Our main course also had Deep fried tofu and Chicken chilli garlic, they were lip smacking good. I do recommend this place for once in a while good Chinese meal.
They eat very well, the staff is open and very cute. The order comes quickly and your staff is at your disposal, it helps if you do not know how to prepare the soup.I recommand with confidence.

The Trafford Centre in Greater Manchester is the second largest shopping and leisure mall in the United Kingdom. The mall is built in Rococco/late Baroque style in design, with eclectic elements of Art Deco and Egyptian Revival. There are three domed atria along the length of the mall, and middle dome is supposed to be bigger than that at St Paul's Cathedral! Decorated in white, crystal and gold this mall has the largest food court in the all of Europe. The Orient is designed like the deck of a 1930s liner and seat 1,600 people and has over 30 restaurants, grills and bars.
Yang Sing Cathay in the China Town section was our destination for lunch. The restaurant has indoor seating as well as a outside seating. We decided to sit outside and ordered a few dumplings, starters and soups.
This is what we ordered – Minced Chicken and Sweet Corn Soup, Peking Hot and Sour Soup, Steamed Beef Dumpling in Ginger and Spring Onion, Steamed Pork and Prawn Sui Mai, Paper Wrapped Prawns with Water Chestnut and Coriander, Chicken and Sesame Cake and Beef Curry Samosa.
The soups were a wee bit thick with corn flour for me. The Beef Curry Samosas were good. The dumplings were okay. They only serve three or four dumplings per portion.
We were too full to try rest of the menu. Another time.
Amazing food as always. Great restaurant with a fantastic menu. Service wasn't the friendliest today but that didn't take away from how great the food was.

Arrival
Visited with a party of 2 at 7PM. The main restaurant was fully booked out, but we were instead seated at the adjacent restaurant Wokooshii- a sister restaurant. I appreciated the decision, meaning we were sat down promptly.
Service
I had no issue with service, but likewise had nothing to praise about it, besides our chairs being pulled out for us, which was a nice gesture. The food arrived reasonably quickly.
Food
We ordered 3 starters. The squid was well-cooked and lightly seasoned. The second was Lai Wong Bau: aglutinous rice ball with a coconut custard centre. It was well made: soft, warm and gooey. Whilst it felt more like a dessert, it was very tasty. The coconut custard wasn't too strong a taste, which for my coconut disliking palate was appreciated. Our final starter was prawn meat in fu pei wrap. It reminded me of traditional Asian hot pot dumplings.
We opted to not go for mains as we were going to sample other restaurants too.
Final Thoughts
The fact that Yang Sing Cathay is halal was a big selling point for us. Our only complaint would be price, but considering the cost of halal ingredients this was justified. I'd recommend Yang Sing Cathay to others.
We had our 120th AGM here this year and it was the perfect venue for it. All staff promptly served our food and made sure we had our drinks topped up. Customer service was excellent and we really love the interior of the restaurant. A range of delicious dishes to choose from.

Excellent! Can’t fault it! Staff are very friendly and accommodating, they don’t have quarter duck on the menu but if you ask they’ll be happy to do it for you. Service is very fast and the food is of the highest quality. I very highly recommend the chicken satay and the beef in black bean sauce. Will definitely be coming back.
All round excellent! we came here is 2014 and was there yesterday. They found us two table next to each other almost immediately because we were a large group. Food was amazing and the staff were super friendly and brilliant. the beef in black beans sauce is highly recommended. I wanted special fried rice which was not on the menu but they made it for me anyway. I would definitely be coming back. Thank you
Looking for a good place to have lunch on a day trip to the Trafford Centre and came upon this family run restaurant in "Chinatown". Imaginative oriental décor both inside and out and a few tables out on the "street". Was welcomed by a friendly Chinese lady. Despite it being half-term holidays and very busy, she showed me to a nice inside table straight away and service was fairly quick. Waiters were very attentive. Wide choice of Cantonese dishes on the menu, some good vegetarian/vegan options and a children's menu too. Decided on the £14.99 special lunch deal: a selection of dim sum (dumplings were delicious!) followed by beef and mushrooms in oyster sauce with rice. Plate and food were piping hot and both courses were well cooked and presented. A glass of water with lemon came free with the meal. Good drinks menu also. An enjoyable lunch experience, glad I chose this place and would recommend!

Great experience every time me and my partner come to eat at this restaurant, staff are always so friendly. I am vegetarian and I got the sweet and sour with vegan chicken. Had to ask afterwards what they use for the vegan chicken because I was so impressed with the taste of it. You can tell they have put a lot of effort into the vegetarian options unlike other resturants. Thank you for a great time as always.
30 of us attended on a Saturday evening. The food was superb and with the amount of other people in the restaurant , the staff did an amazing job of bringing out the meals at the same time.
I would of given 5 stars had it not been for the fact there was only 1 person serving drinks and we had to re-order a round as soon as they arrived. At least 2 rounds of drinks never arrived.
I would eat here again, maybe try midweek.
Had a lovely meal with my partner. We had a starter each and some mains to share. All the food was cooked perfectly, full of flavour and they even boxed the leftovers for us to bring home. Was very busy when we arrived, however the service was quick and efficent. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitley visit again.
