Rockingham Arms is the best place for Sunday lunch, the roast beef is so tender. I haven't been there other days, so can't comment on other dishes. The food is freshly prepared and plenty of it, if you need more vegetable they are more than happy to give more. They serving staff are so obliging nothing is too much trouble.
What a wonderful place. We just turned up for tea and although the main pub area was fully booked they put us in the conservatory. So relaxed, the staff where fantastic and so friendly, very quick service. The food was amazing and value for money. Definitely will revisit x
Great place for a Sunday Roast dinner! The service was quick and the food came piping hot! It’s dog friendly and the bar had a big container of dog biscuits and water.
Overall a five star pub. I thought the service a little slow but the staff are lovely. That’s not just cos they’re all attractive young women but I couldn’t help but notice. Dog friendly (a few in when I went) Proper drinking area retained and several eating tables. A connection with the 1461 battle that’s worth finding more out about. I fully intend to revisit.
We stop here for lunch while out walking. The landlady was very welcoming and offered us a choice of tables. They were very busy so I think we were lucky to get a table. The food was great, we had Ciabatta sandwiches served with the best side salad I have ever had and we had their sharing chunky chips.
Again the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend but I'd book next time so not to be disappointed. We'll will be back for more 😋😁
After deciding to try my Mum to a Sunday Roast, we discovered the Rockingham Arms.
The reviews looked good so we booked a table.
We arrived and were shown to our table and ordered drinks while we perused the menu.
We ordered food and waited for dinner to arrive. Which after a few minutes it did and looked amazing, not only did it lol amazing it was amazing. Nice thick slices of meat, fresh vegetables, lovely roast potatoes and a large Yorkie to top it off alongside a nice rich gravy.
Unfortunately after a lovely roast we were to full for pudding but wish we'd made room for the Rhubarb with a hint of ginger crumble. In hindsight we should have asked for it to takeaway.
Highly recommend here and we will be back when we're next back in the area.
When we arrived the greeting was extremely friendly, asking us to take a seat in the comfy, fireside seats while our table was being prepared. The service once we were at the table was extremely quick and very helpful. There was a nice selection of meals on the menu and we both opted for Sunday lunch, with a glass of red and a pint of Black Sheep Snowflake (a very nice Sunday afternoon ale). The food was served very quickly, the portions were generous and it was very close to a homemade Sunday lunch.
As we were sat with a view behind the bar it was very noticeable how happy and helpful all the staff were and I mentioned it to my wife, she said it must be very good management.
So a big shoutout to Laura and her team for a lovely Sunday afternoon lunch.
Called in on Thursday, lunch time, customers were queueing to get in.dog was welcome. Service was great, staff helpful, food excellent, and cost was, very reasonable for the quality. Two of us chose the prawn starter plus chips and garlic bread, the portion size was enough to satisfy any appetite, my husband had the steak pie , chips and veg.
Thank you so much for making my elderly mother-in-law's birthday lunch extra special. She was absolutely thrilled and enjoyed every minute of our visit. The food was excellent and the hosting superb. We'll certainly be back.
Been to our Mazda club AGM this evening and we were made very welcome. The food was excellent, we had chicken Kiev with lovely crispy chips and peas and it was all piping hot and very generous portions. Service was superb and very friendly, will certainly go again, well done.
