The Lighthouse Cafe is one of those quirky places you’ll be glad you found. This is NOT a fast food cafe, but the atmosphere, games, chill music and conversations with other tables soon passes the time. The quickest I’ve had to wait for a breakfast is 20 minutes, the longest was an hour (the poor lady was on her own with a full cafe). Their homemade beans are scrumptious, the food is well cooked and delicious. Bring cash as they don’t take cards, and there is zero phone signal inside the cafe. So put away your phone, and strike up a conversation with those around you.

This place is so amazingly πŸ‘ the staff are such hard workers and they have made it into a lively place with an amazing atmosphere! I truly enjoyed my visit and will be going back on the regular! You can go in and play chess or Reed a book! Even sit and do some work! The food is lovely and the cake is amazing πŸ˜‹πŸ’―πŸ’š. I had such a fun time and felt totally at home and so relaxed! The staff are so nice and they work hard to make it a nice family friendly place! Plus they are all so amazing! Had so much fun! Thankyou for a lovely time and I can't wait to get more photos to share! πŸ‘‰πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸŒŸπŸŒŸπŸ€—πŸ’š

Had breakfast there yesterday. 2 vegan breakfasts and 2 cacao banana etc smoothies for me and my friend. The lady serving the food put a lot of care and attention into making the meals and smoothies to taste and look their best. Delicious and nutritious. I recommend this cafe. Nice setting for all ages.

What a fabulous cafe to find whilst wondering around Totnes on a rather dreary day. Hidden away at the top of the High Street, I was delighted to find a menu with lots of delicious food and cake on offer. I was extremely curious about the garlic mushrooms and peanut butter on toast (finished off with parsley) which on paper seemed a bit of an odd combo, however I was not disappointed in any way with it πŸ˜‹, to the point where I have since tried to recreate it but alas, just not as good! I would highly recommend this place to anyone - the food was freshly made, the coffee was delicious and the staff were really welcoming and friendly. I shall return again when I am next visiting Totnes to sample more items, that is for sure!

Tucked away where you wouldn't know it was there, this delightful little cafe provides healthy (catering to veggie/vegan requirements), innovative and tasty food, served by friendly staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Play a game a board game while you eat or enjoy a friendly chat with locals, you're guaranteed an enjoyable time. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend this lovely cafe, tucked slightly off the beaten track in Totnes. We were hot and exhausted but found a lovely peaceful welcome and a delicious lunch awaited us here. Service was friendly and it felt like a family place, with regulars coming in and warmly greeted by name. We will be back!

Me and my partner had a great time and a very delicious breakfast in the Lighthouse Cafe which was served by the lovely and very welcoming owner of this cafe. The owner as well as her staff make you feel at home in the Lighthouse cafe and all the food is made fresh with locally sourced ingredients, some ingredients stem even from the owner's garden. I can highly recommend the protein packed overnight oats for all the vegans out there as well as the refried beans which were the best beans I've ever had and are recommended to everyone who likes to have a little bit of a spicy kick in their food. But also carnivores won't have to be missed out and should try the full English breakfast. The smoothies are very delicious and if you decide to give this cafe a visit please try the greener Colada aka Kale smoothie. That one was by far one of my favourites 😊 On our next trip to Totnes we will definitely visit this cafe again. We enjoyed our stay in Totnes and the owner of the cafe was very helpful with tips for Totnes and also allowed us to store our luggage in the cafe on the day of our departure which was a blessing since Totnes has no luggage storage available in town. Just to let everyone know the cafe is next to the Happy Apple supermarket for everyone who is struggling to find this beautiful place.

Had such a lovely time and meal in this cafe. Stumbled across it after walking around looking for food late-ish at night. Tacos and crepes were fresh and delicious. Owner was very friendly and helped us get a taxi to Dartmouth. Would definitely recommend.

The best cafe food in Totnes. And I do not say this lightly. As a foodie and an ex-restaurant reviewer. It has to be said. I am hard to impress. The Lighthouse Cafe, excuse the terrible pun, is a beacon of wonderful food. Made with excellent ingredients, cooked with simplicity and love by Dr Drea, and her warm and experienced staff. Highlights that have to be tried. The Welsh Rarebit, the soups made with proper homemade stock, and the Full English, a delight with Andrea’s own tasty twist on it. There are many classics that just can’t be found anywhere else in Totnes. I won’t say what they are. Go find out for yourself. A hidden gem tucked away, by the Happy Apple. And, as I like it so much, a challenge for you. Meet me for breakfast, or lunch, and if you are not impressed, your meal is on me!

I love this place!! Been here a few times and it's so comfortable and such a lovely atmosphere. Full of people who know each other, chatting and checking in. Feels very relaxed and almost like someone's front room. Food is hearty, nourishing, lovingly made and well priced. Definitely my favourite cafe in Totnes.

What a hidden gem this place is- whether you want a traditional English breakfast or something a bit more modern this is the place. The juices are incredible and packed with loads of fresh ingredients to order. Over night oats are Amazing but the eggs and pirates have to be tried. A great littl relaxing spot.

Just amazing! REALLY good coffee, delicious vegan breakfast with homemade baked beans and bubble & squeak and a highlight for us was the smoothies. So good we came back the next day. Spoilt for choice even as vegans. Lovely owner and staff and such a nice vibe. A curated selection of books and board games. Drea let me borrow a book overnight and even said to keep it to finish reading and post back when I’ve finished. In uncertain times, and in the middle of grey January this cafe is a lighthouse of delicious nourishing food, good vibes, joy and hope!

Fantastic cafe with great breakfasts and a cool vibe. Very friendly. It's down a small walkway just off the high street. Not the fastest but worth the wait.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in Totnes on a Sunday afternoon and were lucky enough to come across the Lighthouse cafe. Wow, glad we did. The owner was so friendly and inclusive, the atmosphere she created made us feel somehow part of the community, even though we were just passing through. The food was delicious, all homemade, with loads of veggie options. We had fabulous spanakopita with roasted veg, green salad and tzatziki, followed by choc brownies and flat whites. The coffee was amazing. Definitely plan to return when we're next in the area!

Absolutely incredible veggie full English breakfast was enjoyed here. Couldn't fault it - delicious, good quality, good size. Coffee also great. And tea in unique teapots which I very much appreciated getting to choose which pot I'd like my tea in! Friendly staff and friendly vibes in the cafe generally. Also some great classic boardgames like battleships and buckaroo! Now my cafe of choice in Totnes for a brunch!
