We held our wedding reception and weekend at the Seven Stars. We cannot stress enough how incredible Kiren, Darryl and the team were at making our big day special. Nothing was too much effort, and Kiren always treated any challenges with a sense of humour - you are an amazing human and St Austell are lucky to have you! Thank you for all of your help, especially when we were facing challenges with our ceremony venue, and you immediately just brought me a glass of cold white wine to calm me down! You are a legend! The food at the Seven Stars is second to none. I already know the venue well, and that the food is great, we've never had a bad meal here! We ate here with our wedding guests over the course of the weekend, and were blown away with the quality of the food. It's locally sourced where possible, and Darryl makes incredible home made soups and fresh cheesecake! I also had curry and fish and chips, calamari too over the course of the weekend and everything was perfect. Our wedding breakfast was a 3 course meal, everything was beautiful. Canapes extremely filling, and evening buffet was not your standard 'iceland' frozen affair - home made scotch eggs, home made slaw, houmous etc - really top quality. All guests commented on how good it was and how generous the portions were. Breakfast is beautiful - freshly baked croissants, juices and milk in ice, fresh fruits, breads etc, and a great cooked menu including pancakes and the best breakfast bap you'll ever eat! Coffee also always fab. One of the reasons we wanted to have our reception here was the beautiful ballroom which has been modernised with beautiful lighting and glitter ball, which made the evening so sparkly! Staff helped us decorate the venue too which I was not expecting as we booked the venue to do our own decor, and we were so grateful for the help and expertise in setting up the room! In addition to this, the assembly room at the front of the venue upstairs was incredible to get ready in, and bridal party were able to have breakfast privately up here whilst getting ready. There is beautiful natural light at the front of the room. Parking is easily available for the weekend booked in advance over the road at Morrisons very cheaply. It's located close to the river and bridge which is great for photos. The staircase looks very grand as you walk up to the ballroom. Ballroom also has a private terraced area and own bar upstairs. We had Agatha Christie room as our bridal suite which has a jacuzzi bath, stunning four poster bed with tapestry, and seated area by the window to overlook Totnes. There is also another seating area which was very handy to open wedding gifts, and the lovely housekeeping ladies decorated our bed with fresh rose petals which was such a beautiful touch. Thank you, so much! We'll definitely book again to celebrate our anniversaries, enjoy the venue and relieve our day. THANK YOU! We just want to say thank you to St Austell and all of the staff who helped make our wedding day so beautiful. We really can't wait to drop in soon. Kelly & Cian O'Brien

Had another amazing Sunday lunch cleared our plates! Vegs' were perfect, not soggy or under cooked plenty of meat (we had beef) and an extra pot of gravy! No need for pud, although they look amazing. All staff were really friendly and seemed genuinely happy to see their customers. Another visit will be made next time we are there πŸ˜‹πŸ˜Š

Stopped off for lunch while on a last minute shopping trip to Totnes. We originally sat outside, but moved inside due to the road noise. The staff are great - really friendly and welcoming. The food was great. I'd go back.

A landmark building in Totnes, the place opens early for coffees etc, licensed hours begin at 11am, 3 ales on the bar. Pub is extremely busy at the height of summer, with seating at a premium.

Great food, service and lovely rooms with everything you need. Soft fluffy towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, hair dryer, coffee machine. The bar/ restaurant is a cosy place to sit or tables outside for people watching.

Unmatched Sunday roast The staff were great polite and very diligent. I recommend this for your luncheon a watering hole on a South Devon Railway outing especially on a Sunday. Perfection personified. Glorious day.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at the Royal Seven Stars Hotel. It was our first visit and we were delighted with the warm, friendly, inviting atmosphere and the delicious food. It is a little pricey although in-keeping with other Totnes eateries and the staff were excellent. We will definitely return πŸ‘πŸ»

We had Decaf Coffee and Glass of wine outside in late evening as so warm! Outside seating is also in sun trap area in daytime and the inside was also great. Staff were excellent!

Overnight stay in June (Sunday Night). The room was very spacious, clean & bright & the bed was also very comfortable. Glad we had air con in our room as it was very hot & humid. It was Fathers Day & the hotel/bar/restaurant was very busy. We had a very enjoyable stay & will return. Totnes Tip: most places stop serving food 7.30pm/8pm on a Sunday, so book a table if you do not wish to eat in the Hotel Restaurant.

Really welcoming and accommodating, for our table of 9. The bar was busy, but it didn't slow their service. Cheerful hosts, fabulous food, in comfy surroundings. I would recommend booking, as even on a Monday lunchtime, they were busy.

The service is now becoming extinct slowly slowly. Apart from a few very nice people who will go out of the way to serve us, the others and newer ones do not know about service at all. Let us remember, the very reason we go out is to treat ourselves. Please enhance table service and be friendly when the clients order and take water, glasses, cuttlery etc. and the drinks and the food to their table. This is a hospitality place. It is the least you can do regarding service. Thank you to the people who have been wonderful for a few years now and have saved the day.

a lovely old fashioned local pub, with a modern feel. Great menu. Plenty of sitting areas inside and at front of the pub. Good to watch the world go by. The Sunday lunch smelled super. Must try it next time. They now offer a coffee and cake deal too.

The hotel is right on the roundabout at the bottom of the High Street making it a great location to walk out. The breakfast room is very nice with cereals, fruit juice, pastries etc. You order the cooked from a menu which would have been nice if my tomato & mushroom hadn't been smothered in pepper. When I mentioned this I was told that the chef had been told about it but obviously he or she doesn't care about the guests. My poached eggs were hard not runny. The bacon had gone dry & hard so it had obviously been kept hot while we were eating cereal. Just our bad luck I guess but otherwise ok. The whole building is old and full of character but the bedroom was very hot which was difficult to cook down. Parking is limited at the back. The overriding good point is the staff who are friendly & helpful especially on reception. The coffee lounge is nice but prices a bit high - 1 pint & 1 tea was Β£7.20. I booked through Travelzoo and got a good price, but I wouldn't pay full price for it. Haven't been to Totnes for many years and found it all rather expensive for this part of the country.

Lovely setting. Best coffee ever. Got there about 10.30 am. We wanted coffee and cake as advertised on bill board at entrance. Ran out of cake! Also, over flowing ashtrays on door entry outside seating area didn't look very nice. However, beautifully clean and welcoming inside. The lady couldn't get the open fire lit, so we were cold, but as I say.....lovely coffee ( de cafe for me) and beautiful interior.

Best Sunday roast I've had in a long long time. Had the chicken roast and husband had the beef, both were faultless.

We have been visiting the Seven Stars for around 60 years! Now owned by St Austell Brewery. Dog friendly and lovely traditional building with good bar food.
