Our first Devon Cream Tea in the coffee shop and it was utterly amazing! Warm, large freshly made scones, lashings of clotted cream and freshly mulched strawberry jam confit. Oh, and the castle was great too!! (I'm going to dream about that cream tea for along time :))

Been going to Berry Pomeroy Castle since 1996 and it's definitely captivating and fascinating. Definitely active and haunted but not all the time. Not everyone will see or experience anything there while others will even if you think your sensitive. There's a Facebook group Berry Pomeroy Castle Ghosts if you wish to add any genuine personal experiences at Berry Pomeroy Castle.

Berry Pomeroy Castle is very atmospheric and photogenic with its beautiful tall walls and the 'bones' of its glorious past. My first proper visit and planning to go again next week. Stunning place with walks too.

Berry Pomeroy is incredibly atmospheric with a fascinating history. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Also there is a terrific little café and a gift shop with something for everybody. There are some amazing views and a nature trail leading to a lake teaming with wildlife for your mini explorers. The perfect place for a great family day out. I absolutely love the place. :)

What a majestic and beautiful ruin. We listened to the guide as we went round and were transported back in time. Got a little scared when the ghosts were described. Totally fascinating and set in such a beautiful tranquil place. Will definitely be visiting again.

It's not as big as I thought it would be but still very impressive and in a lovely location.

Such a lovely cafe and a very delicious breakfast in a lovely location, nestled away in the countryside of Berry Pomeroy. The staff were so lovely, friendly & helpful. One of my party has Celiac Disease and the kitchen put together a very nice breakfast for her (Bacon, Eggs, Beans & Toast). In her own words; "that was the best breakfast we've had out." I also enjoyed my King Breakfast and I'd have to agree with my friend. If you haven't seen any of my reviews, I visit quite a few cafes, and The Castle Cafe makes the best breakfast! The toast wasn't the best (still good though) but apart from that, everything tasted delicious. The coffee was lovely too. It was so nice to sit outside on a beautiful morning with a beautiful view, sipping some coffee. I hope to return soon to try the cream tea. I'd definitely recommend a visit. More details: Easy to find via signage or satnav. A short country lane takes you off of Totnes Road and to the Castle & Cafe. There is free parking with a couple of disabled bays. There is a short walk (<1 minute) to the cafe from there. Milk alternatives were available. Plenty of seating. Inside & Outside. Heaters outside. Clean. Toilets on site. Dog friendly.

Thank you to the lovely staff 🙏 We visited today and we're very pleased to have been accommodated with our requests for vegetarian breakfasts, served freshly prepared and piping hot . An idyllic setting in peaceful historic grounds where, we enjoyed every moment of our happy sunshine day 🌅 We asked about vegetarian roast dinner which is very popular indeed and once again the helpful staff suggested we book in advance and give notification of any dietary requirements. We'll certainly be booking a table and looking forward to a very delicious luncheon. How super 🙏

Lovely here. Opens at 10am. They have an Open log fire and all day king and queen breakfasts. Sandwiches and panninies/baps. Range of bottled beers/ciders. Teas and coffees. Long walks around the woodland which is outside the Castle so free. Great for dogs and kids alike. The ladies in the cafe were so nice and accommodating. The breakfasts were lovely! Best we've had in a while. Freshly cooked. Definitely visit here again. Can wear the kids/dogs out here with beautiful views and scenery.

Roast on a Sunday with friends. Great experience. And even though there were ten of us, the food came almost simultaneously. Well done for such a small place. I would recommend reservations, as they only have limited spaces.

What I really appreciate there is that the people are making an effort to offer good quality food and it always becomes better. Amanda is a very pleasant and friendly lady who always tries her best to offer great service. I appreciate good service a lot as it is the very reason we go out for food and a drink. Otherwise we could stay home and do it ourselves. Nina today has been wonderful too and very obliging. In Winter the wood stove makes the place indispensable Thank you again dear people

I have just had Sunday lunch with my family. Despite being run off their feet, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Castle Pomeroy Cafe is fast becoming one of my favourites!

Lovely little cafe with good service. Free parking and the cafe is situated outside the castle grounds with inside and outside seating. Lovely walks around the cafe down to the lakes. We had a very nice cream tea for the reasonable price of 7.50. I would recommend going here if you would like to get away from bustle of Torbay and your children or dogs would love exploring the grounds.

Best ham and cheese toastie (they buy their ham at the nearby butcher) and a great setting.

What a gem of a find this café was! We enjoyed probably the best full English breakfast we've ever had! The staff were super friendly & the location was lovely. We'll definitely be going back, hopefully to sample one of their Sunday roasts. We can't wait! Delighted to highly recommend 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
