Reviews Yum Sing

I visited Yum Sing on Tuesday 15 October 2019 in the early evening, a weekday during term time. I was with one other person. This was my first visit. I used Google Maps to find the restaurant, which was easy and led me straight to the right place. I parked in the car park right outside the restaurant - parking was easy. The restaurant comprises of a number of medium sized areas each with a number tables with full table service. The team were very friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I shared a selection of starters including spring rolls, seaweed, chicken satay and garlic mushrooms then I shared sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and sweet and sour crispy shredded beef with some chicken rice. The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good. There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was very good value for money, I paid around £25 for two courses and drinks. Overall I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely come and visit again.

After a lot of research for Chinese restaurants in Devon, we decided to try Yum Sing after raving reviews on Reddit, and we were not disappointed! The staff were incredibly friendly, the service was quick, and the food was delicious. The photo I took doesn't do it justice, but the appetisers, duck and mains were better than a lot of restaurants I've been to in London's Chinatown, and that's saying something! I think our waitress said that the restaurant had been in their family for nearly 40 years, passed down through the generations, and it showed. We saw the owner walking around, greeting some of the regulars, and it was clear that there was a lot of pride in their food and their service. I'd recommend Yum Sing to anybody!

We came here for a birthday meal and it was really nice. Nice atmosphere and staff. Very welcoming. Cosy seating areas. Food really excellent. Ordered set meal and it was huge! Will come back again in future.

Only used this restaurant once so far as a takeaway but will be trying the restaurant at a later date. Staff were very helpful and friendly and it was quite busy on the evening we visited. Appears to be a good place to celebrate a special occasion. Takeaway was very good.

We had the most amazing meal this evening, best Chinese food I have ever had. I booked for a family celebration and I was not disappointed 😊 I would definitely recommend as the staff are lovely too
