I was lucky enough to win a competition to stay in one of the Cary Arms Beach Huts and I can honestly say it was one of the best places I have ever stayed. The Beach Huts are pure luxury! We were greeted with complimentary Sloe Gin, Bottle of Wine in the Fridge and various snacks, which was just wonderful. Even sticks of rock on our pillow! Our little Dachshund even had her own bed, bowl and dog treats to welcome her. The views are just incredible. We felt like we were abroad. The view out of the port hole in the bedroom is just spectacular and it is so nice to wake up to! And at night you can see the the twinkling lights from the village across the water. The staff were absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Our dinner was absolute delicious. I had mouthwatering scallops, beef fillet cooked to perfection and a scrumptious white chocolate cheesecake. We had a delicious cooked breakfast the next morning on the private residents' terrace and were given a complimentary glass of Prosecco - another lovely extra touch that just makes you feel so special! Even on checking out we were given a little gift bag with bottles of water and dog treats. I cannot recommend the beach huts enough. My only fault...that we had to leave! We will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at the Cary Arms for having us. It truly was one of the best places I have ever stayed. Our little Dachshund Dusty loved it too! Who needs to holiday abroad when you can stay in pure luxury on the South West Coast!

Visted my nephew who lives in babacome we all decided to go for a drink and hopefully have a meal at Cary's. As expected dinning restaurant fully booked. We understood gracefully we weren't going to eat so we stayed had a couple of beers enjoyed the views. About to leave them the restaurant manager called us over he'd managed to squeeze us all in and we had fabulous largest fish and chips meal ever.Great service staff really friendly food excellent.

We have just returned from a two night stay and it was fabulous! I have just had a knee operation and needed a little r&r The service was friendly and efficient. The staff were very helpful and thoughtful also we were lucky enough to be upgraded to beach hut. Fabulous design features and wonderful extra touches making it a lovely experience. The bed was so comfortable. Lovely quality bed linen, nice big fluffy towels 10/10 for cleanliness. 11/10 for complementary wine and sloe gin! Dinner was so great first night we stayed and had dinner second night too. Food was faultless Breakfast was yummy. Spa really nice. Would be extremely hard pressed to find fault. Yes it is a bit pricey but well worth it because it is special. If I had to be nit pickey:Shower very hot and I didn’t manage to get it under control quick maybe thermostat could be fitted for safety for children. Location amazing and definitely hope to return when I am a little more mobile. Thank you to all the staff - we really enjoyed ourselves

The setting is to die for and so is the food . Service was a little slow . The staff were very helpful ‘they seemed a little uninformed. But saying that still 5 star 🌟

Amazing place. The setting is spectacular if difficult to reach by car. Very steep descent. Friendly staff and frankly the food was well above my expectations. Quite small selection but really different and spectacularly wonderful tastes.

Best location in the Bay. Very relaxing drinking tea & watching the moving picture on the sea from the patio & even saw a seal bobbing around the kids in wet suits jumping in off the pier.Brought back some very fond memories.

The Cary Arms is a great hotel and restaurant. We stayed in Beach Suite 8, which has a terrace right on the bay with fully opening three panel glass doors from both the reception (living room) and bedroom. The suites are brand new as of 2016 and are finished to a high standard reminiscent of New England beach chic style. The hotel is extremely dog friendly, allowing dogs in the restaurant, and offering dog meals from the kitchen. They also have hamper service for breakfast, delivering a lovely breakfast to enjoy on your private terrace at 8:30 for ultimate luxury. Also, the restaurant has a somewhat secret vegetarian menu - above and beyond what's listed in the full menu. Be sure to ask to see it, as there are some good choices even if you're not strictly veg.

Stayed at the Cary Arms in August, and I could not recommend it enough, if you are looking for by the coast, relaxing, a special get away stay, and oh money is not object. Then this is the place. We stayed in the 'Admiral' room, and this has one of the most breath taking view, literally looks out to the sea and coast and cliffs. I truly unwind here, food was brilliant, and who knew staying at a pub will be so much fun, but this is by far the most classy pub I have been too, everything is so plush and a lot of effort has been put into details and offering a 5 star service. Getting here did prove a difficulty, not for the faint hearted, but what do you expect, a hotel being on a cliff edge. I thought my car would not make it back up the steep hill. But dont fear, they do provide assistance. The breakfast was good, lots of options, and everything was fresh, and have i mention the view, amazing. One interesting thing to mention, if you ever do visit or stay, there is the resident sea lion, which hangs just by the coast, completely harmless, the locals go swimming with it, likes it nothing. You can buy fish for the kind beast and feed it. Its astonishing. Amazing place, amazing service, when money is no object. Would love to come back.

Love The Cary Arms. Food is great, staff v friendly and location is amazing. I'm not a fish eater and although there is much fish on the menu (as one would expect from a restaurant 15 feet from the sea) there is also a great selection of meat dishes, sourced from local suppliers. Accommodation is also available and strongly recommended so one can forget the car, have a few drinks and unwind with great food and a stunning view out to sea. I can't recommend this place strongly enough.
