Enjoyed it so much I had two dinners; venison burger followed by a full rack of ribs. Good sized portions and amazing taisting too.
So good had to a have breakfast there the following morning, and bought some bacon and sausages from their shop.
Well worth a stop if you are passing through Topsham or Exeter.
Happy and attentive staff, with a real buzz in the restaurant.
My husband and I visited during the August heatwave and were absolutely delighted with out experience here. The staff were lovely and very welcoming and the food was incredible.
I had the starter nachos but the portion size was more than adequate for me as a main meal. They were without a doubt the best nachos I've ever had. You can tell that the team are passionate about barbecue food as it shone through in their meals.
My husband was equally complimentary about his pork platter especially with regards to the barbecue beans as he requested more of them to go along with his meal and polished off the lot.
Pig and Pallet are about a 3 hour journey each way for us but we will happily be making the trip again!

Visited The Pig and Pallet while on holiday in Topsham. Really enjoyed the food. We decided to share a rack of ribs, two starters, a side and some loaded fries. This was more than enough for my girlfriend and I.
My one and only gripe is that although, overall, the service was good, one server in particular seemed very short with us and was slightly pushy. I get that people have bad days and having both worked in hospitality, we completely understand what it can be like. We were taking our time to decide what to eat and having come back to us a second time, the server was very blunt and said "can I take your food order now". Let's be honest, a simple "are you ready to order, and can I help you with deciding" is a much better way to speak to customers.
At the end of the meal, we asked the left over food to be put in a doggy bag. Before our table was even clear the same sever asked us if she could bring our bill now. We actually wanted another drink so declined and had the drink before leaving.
This may seem petty but the server was clearly off with us and we both commented on it almost instantly after they served us. Again, maybe they were just having a bad day, but that shouldn't spill over on to customers who are spending a lot of money to enjoy a meal out.
Overall though, if we're ever in this part of the world again, we would definitely come back and would recommend it to anyone who wants some tasty food!
Is situated at the far end of Topsham and if you like something different this may be just the place for you.
The staff are friendly and attentive.
Drinks come quickly they have a small choice of draft ales you are bound to find something that you have not tried before.
Lager and cider is available.
You can purchase some huge scratchings.
There are more Ales and IPAs via bottle.

Absolutely lovely! We had burgers with cheesy fries. They were amazing! The staff was super nice, we loved the place and how friendly everyone was. It was our first time in Devon and we are definitely going to visit again! Also the smoker looks amazing and high tech.
We've been there a few times and they are all lovely: service (always helpful and smiling), atmosphere (music in the background) and AMAZING food for the people who's favorite veggie is...pork 😊. Too bad they are closing down but they will still sell the tasty products they are making there.
My son booked a table for 6 for my husbands birthday and we all enjoyed the atmosphere and our dinner. Was a tucked away location and the staff were very polite and friendly. Even gave us an additional plate of ribs as one was smaller than the other. They did this off their own back as we didn't request this or even comment.
If you visit you must see the toilet and appreciate the quirky sink too xx
Really great food and service. Great choice of drinks from beers wines and ciders. Like the look of the restaurant got a great atmosphere. Lots to choose from off the menu ribs were great and nice smokey flavours. Really interesting little shop inside selling local food and drink products was really cool. Would recommend.
Went here for lunch booked a table for 3pm wanted something different and it was! Was with a wheelchair user they were right there with the ramp quite steep to get in and out but worth the effort all the staff were lovely and smiley and welcoming didn’t get names but the serving guy with the beard especially! Very attentive the food was great and lots of it we had the smokehouse barbecue meat tray very filling and chose the beer flight 6 glasses of beer to try they were amazing and came with fresh pork scratchings! Over all a very enjoyable afternoon here didn’t disappoint and we will be back thanks guys!
We visited here for a special birthday dinner last night, the service, food and atmosphere was simply amazing! The welcome was warm and friendly and the “Pig Crew” are all really enthusiastic about the food and drink they serve. Adam was excellent and made some amazing recommendations which did not disappoint. We enjoyed a rack of ribs and the BBQ meat platter for one which was by far, the best ribs, wings, sausage, pulled pork, chips, bread, slaw and pickle I have ever had. The additional Mac and Cheese was something really special. An amazing experience and one we are sure to repeat the next time we are in Exeter!
Super yum smoke house! We sampled a few nibbles and were not disappointed… definitely plan to come back and try more!

Lovely dog friendly experience! 🐶 The pork scratchings were a particular favourite of our pup! The food was incredible but be warned the portions are massive! If you order one of their "hotdogs" don't think you're picking it up and eating it with your hands! 😂 Be ready to accept defeat and take home a doggy bag!
Excellent service, the staff were all personable and attentive and really added to the fun. When we arrived Christian was very welcoming and became a new instant friend for our pup 🐶😍 Adam was great too but needs help with the math, he only put a 10% suggested service charge on our bill so make sure you check your bill and adjust (up!) accordingly 😉
We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was absolutely incredible. I had a pulled pork burger with steak and peppercorn topped chips and my partner had a double beef burger with poutine topped chips. It was absolutely to die for. All of the staff were really friendly and we loved the way the place were decorated but the food was out of this world! Worth every single penny. The portion sizes were really generous too.
The atmosphere was increadable you can smell the aromatic spices which was lovely. For starter I had the chicken wings and they were beautiful. They were very big with lots of meat on them with enough smooth sause to cover them perfectly. The BBQ sause gave the wings a sumsuous and delsieous flavor. For the main I had ribs and they were amazing. At the pig and pallet they have their own spice rub to put on the meat and it was delicious. The ribs were nearly the size of the plate!! My only criticism is the cola, for me it was a bit of a weird taste and I would prefer cocacola zero, but that is my preference. My overall experience was perfect the staff were friendly and the food was incredible. The waiting time wasn't too bad and I would definitely go here again.

Looking for somewhere to eat in Topsham, just south of Exeter, we stumbled in here.
To say the servings are generous is an understatement, and when the say drowned I cheese sauce they mean it!
Friendly staff and a quirky atmosphere, we really enjoyed ourselves.

If you are a carnivorous eater and want to feel right at home in a place that caters to your hunger, do not look for any other restaurant in the area of Exeter.
We started with the chicken wings and not too quote another fine dining restaurant but they where finger licking delicious, we had them with their own home made BBQ sauce but there is the option to get them spicy. 5 of these for £8,50 can't go wrong there. As a lubricant on the side I had a lovely 1.2% powderkeg greenlight and my lovely wife a twist on a negroni.
The main meal for me was the rack of ribs with poutin fries, the meat is so well prepared that it falls off the bone. The rub they use is absolutely one of the finest I tasted and these ribs alone are worth a visit. If you are into a hint of smoke with a light spice touch this is it, sometimes ribs can be served to sweet. Not the case with these ones. If you do go for this meal be aware that it is a good plate of food unfortunately I could not finish all of my portion of super loaded fries. But for £22,50 and £6,- you get an amazing meal that will not leave you hungry out the door.
You know when you enter a place if they got everything right from the get go. The theme here is that this restaurant does things with pigs and respects the animal that it comes from with serving it in the most proper way possible. The service is good and a shout out to Christian for it.
You will spend an average of £30 to £50 a person here and it is absolutely worth it! Next time I will come back for those spicy chicken wings.
Took the children out for an end of summer holiday treat. Lovely quirky venue, good nearby parking, great food and brilliant staff.

Now this is a real authentic place handmade and excellent in it's interior and in it's approach to the menu from mains to drinks. The staff is friendly, kids and dogs are welcome. Bring a coat and friends or family along. This is a wonderful locality greatly situated right by the water. The village / city of Topsham is wonderful for walks as well.
