Me and my mum love the sharing fish platter from here it's the best one around by far! I am not totally sure of the waiters/bar tenders name but he makes excellent cocktails each time I come. The pina colada is definitely the best even though it's not actually on the menu! 5 star food, service and drinks
We eat here all the time and always enjoy it so much. The food and drink is always exceptional and the staff are amazing. I had the 'Ale Platter' and I'd highly recommend anyone to give it a try!! Thanks again to the owners and all the staff.
I signed up for the Todmorden Summer 5K Series in June, with registration at the Hare & Hounds, so that got me in there for the first time in seventeen years. The place looked very pleasant, clean, and in my eyes well worth another visit. Another attraction was that they allow dogs in. So this evening, I took my wife and Bella the dog here for tea. Lovely meal, very polite staff, and all-in-all I would highly recommend this pub/restaurant. I'm running the next race this Thursday at Centre Vale, and can't wait...to get back to the Hare & Hounds!
Excellent food and service, Tiffanie and Richard have created a welcoming atmosphere. Great selection of daily specials and lovely staff who go out of their way to ensure your food is spot on.
Just tried their fish and chips which were amazing! Beautiful batter, fish cooked to perfection and homemade chips a bonus! What really made it special for me though was the minted mushy peas and the tartar sauce which was like coleslaw with capers in, and made the whole meal light and refreshing, it's not often you can say that about fish and chips! The place was packed, but that didn't slow down the service, top marks!
The best food I've had for a long time, and I'm not just on about pub grub. Having eaten in some "high class" restaurants I would put this up there with the best. Friendly and accommodating whilst keeping up standards.
Just enjoyed a lovely meal with my two kids. The food was lovely and my kids said that the burgers were "the best ever".
The staff were friendly and accommodating and the service was fantastic.
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
We ate here twice while visiting Todmorden. Truly a fantastic pub with great food and fantastic staff. We came to visit Fielden country as descendants of John Fielden and found the manager, who's name I missed, to be fantastic. Thank you so much for everything you gave us. We are forever grateful.
Looking for somewhere to eat after a walk on the moors with my dogs. Living on an island my youngest 18mth old dog was all new to her, & still accommodated us. You hope the food is going to be good & I was not disappointed, in fact I ate more than I have in a long time finishing off my sandwich & chips with my favourite & rarely see Jam Rolly Poly. It was delicious. Would definitely recommend.
A fabulous team of staff so pleasant and friendly, the food is great. I highly recommend a visit whether on your own or with friends and family.
Called in for some dinner today and the food was really good .The staff are really friendly and polite . Would recommend to any body lovely place
Food fantastic, service brilliant, lovely atmosphere will be visiting again in the future.
Thank you Richard, Tiffanie and all the bar staff.
Hare & Hounds was recommended to us by a Todmorden resisdent, and we were not disappointed. Our first visit yesterday was lovely. The food was spot on for everybody in our group (of 6). Good hearty food, not fussy but beautifully cooked with stylish presentation.
A friendly but not over the top atmosphere, really well looked after by the lovely waitress - who deserves a special mention, which I'll get to.
There were children in our party and the chef (and service) were only too happy to 'tinker' with their meals in order to ensure the kids got just what they wanted. All the food was lovely and hot and the waiting time was only short - which is quite important with childer in tow!!
All round a great experience which we will definitely be repeating.
A special mention to the waitress who served us; during the meal one of our party (me!!!) managed to drop an ipod nano out of their pocket under the table but didn't realise. As we were leaving she caught up to us and returned it (having discovered it when cleaning up round our table). No big deal?? I think it is, I use this to back up my disco trade and have had two lost/stolen in the past and this action has saved me a good few quid and lots of time re-filling with tunes. I currently do not know the girl's name but will find out - she's a credit to the establishment.
Thanks so much Simon & Jean Kilshaw (booked under Kierans, Easter Saturday 2016)

Good thwaites pub serving a range of cask and keg beers. Open from twelve serving hot drinks and food. Does Show sports on request. Kid friendly. Large flat carpark which is idea for a stop over obviously phone ahead and spend money in the pub. About 5 minute walk into town. Recommended spot for a quick and to visit the town. Kid and dog friendly. ⚽️ 🐕 🍻 🚐
Really enjoyed our experience here! Staff were so helpful and really attentive to our needs. Food was beautiful and great portion sizes and the best gravy!! Sat by the real fire and loved the whole experience from start to finish. Can’t wait to try the pies and other exciting things on the menu and visit on other days of the week for live music and quiz’s. So happy it’s reopened!! Well done everyone!
Food may be good on days other than Sunday. The vegetables were fresh and not over cooked. The chicken was lovely but not enough of it and no skin! The real let down were the roast potatoes. Clearly cooked well in advance and warmed through.
Dessert however was wonder ful. Crumble and custard sent me away happy.
Service and ambience were fabulous.
We moved here to todmorden and have been wanting to try this pub for lunch ... what can I say but wow! Staff so friendly prices very reasonable and food plentiful! Couldn't have my fish and chips as they had ran out so had the hunters chicken my husband the lasagne both meals full of flavour... having no fish and chips was no big deal just means I have to come back for another lunch.. the hare and hound was so clean and tidy including the bathrooms!! Can't wait to go back...
What a lovely pub! We went for lunch and had a great time. The food was delicious and the service exceptional. The pub has a nice atmosphere and is really clean and well presented. The entrance is accessible for those using mobility aids, like myself, and inside the ground is level. There's lots of space around the tables as well for wheelchairs, walking aids etc to move. As a disabled person this is great! A lot of pubs and eateries in this area are inaccessible, so this is a real gem. We will definitely be going back again in future!
My husband had the Yorkshire burger which isn't for the faint-hearted; it was the biggest burger ever and he said it was juicy and flavourful and delicious. I had the falafel and spinach burger and I was really pleased; usually veggie burger options are mushy and bland but this had great texture and flavour. And OMG the chips are just amazing! I would go back again just for the chips!
The pricing was really reasonable too, I felt that the food was great quality and I would have been happy to pay more than we did for what we had. If you are in the area I would 100% recommend giving this place a try.
We didn't have any food, although what we saw looked good, so we'll eat there on the future. The atmosphere was great, and it's doggy friendly. We'll definitely go in again.
Can't pass comment on food as didn't eat here but lovely warm clean pub with friendly staff. Attended for couple drinks after a funeral.
Good pub with a good choice of drinks and nice food, definitely worth a visit
Lovely staff okay food but need more fish on the menu and more variation - sorry but just my opinion.
Still great food, drink and service. Top notch as always.
Lovely place to eat. The food was fine and piping hot although at 5.00 there was no Yorkshire puddings even though they serve roasts until 7.30. I had the Rag pudding as I'd never heard of it before. Nice enough but there didn't seem to be any onion in it, it was a bit bland.
Reaĺly nice choice of food ,good vegetarian menu

Won lunch on their FB page, and we weren't disappointed!! The burgers were Belly-Busting good!! So delicious!!! Will definitely being going back again. REALLY friendly and attentive staff. Inside is surprisingly spacious and light, and really nicely decorated in a modern-twist-on-a-country-classic-style! Beautiful and welcoming!!
I tried one of their new vegan breakfast. Oh my gosh it was delicious. Really tasty and filling. The coffee was very good and the atmosphere was relaxed. Having the fire going too made it the perfect place on these cold wet morning. I will be visiting again soon to try to rest of the menu as it all looked great. Thank you for the lovely experience and great service. It’s been a grand place to start my day.
We had a big family meal at the Hare and Hounds after my mum's memorial service, and they were excellent.
Super helpful when we were planning and very understanding of some last minute issues. The food and beer were of excellent standards, and the whole team was incredibly polite and friendly.
Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
Cracking lunch ,friendly service.Plenty of room to eat outside and lots of car parking
