All I can say is take a look around, see it's busy, and have a little patience!
The staff at the Chowshed go out of their way to make sure that customers are looked after.
I have only experienced fine service there.

Friendly and quick service. Really good range of menu options at reasonable prices. Only downside is seating is a bit limited with it being so popular. They do do a phone order service though. Recommended!

Nice fried breakfast, at a very good price. Very quick and polite service. Definitely not a greasy spoon cafe. Good motorcycle route. Definitely stop here again.
Amazing breakfast, great staff, be hard pressed to find a better breakfast for less than £7.50 absolute bargain. Good quality, local ingredients, this surly is a diamond in the rough. Definitely visit again.
Great place to eat. Friendly Chatty staff. Excellent variety of food. Only negative is my toast disappeared once.
Just had a very nice cuppa tea in there well waiting for my mot so clean and tidy and the two ladies in there are very nice and friendly I will definitely be going back there to try the food
