Lovely rustic restaurant serving very tasty wood fired food. Lots of sharing dishes available. Recommend booking as it gets busy. Great choice when visiting Knightshayes National Trust property - just a few minutes drive away.
What a little gem! Such a great place for brunch or lunch. The food was fancy but not pretentious, the service efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere was gorgeous, with beautiful hanging stars lining the ceiling. The pizza oven is enormous and there's a nice little shop to have a look round. Special mention goes to the polenta chips and feta, greens and mint pie! Their brownies are also some of the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot!). Can't wait to come back during the summer to enjoy the outside area on a warm day!
A lovely meal again, thanks x The crab gratin was really super (a small not large main). Pizza special's base included pistachio & parmesan!, some ham on top, delicious apparently. This time we sat inside (it was a bit dark far right, however). Special day, lovely meal, totally different to summer eating outside in sun. Super setting, service and food. Thanks again Lost Kitchen
Very much enjoyed our lunch at The Lost Kitchen. Lovely atmosphere on a wet autumn day, all decorated with gords and pumpkins. Food was good, especially the crab gratin and scallop starter dishes. We had venison for main course which was OK but not quite at the same level as the starters. The homemade pizzas looked really good which are made in their pizza oven.
Great service and very friendly staff. Would definitely return.
Really can't beat this not where you would expect a place like this to be food is awesome me and my wife came for my birthday we both had pizzas which were outstanding,the sourdough with oil and balsamic was also fab big portion too in all couldn't really fault staff friendly and setting is brilliant top stuff .
Fantastic atmosphere and great food. Shared between 5 of us lots of small mixing platters/starters.
And the cakes and rice pudding (pictured). All washed down with their own beer and all highly recommended.

Love the rustic decor for the exterior and interior. It really oozes farm to table cuisine, and the menu matches perfect.
Great drink selection too! We will definitely be back to sit outside, and then our doggy can join too. Also the pizza nights sound fab!

Lovely farmhouse feel place. Very rustic. Pizzas were beautiful (probably the best I’ve had!) desserts were also really special. We turned up an hour early before our booking and we were welcomed in by the man on the door.
I wish I could mark 4.5 the only thing that I’d say is that there needs to be a stronger service presence available at the bottom part of the restaurant, our meal was interrupted a little by trying to flag down a member of staff for something missing. Turned bodies of other customers towards the front of the building suggested the same feeling :(

This is how food should be grown & cooked. beautifully fresh, healthy and creative dishes. Everything seemed to be gown on site and every mouthful was packed with flavour. These chefs care about their produce and dishes they serve.
Service on the whole was good, the chefs were smiling and majority of the rest of the staff other than our server. Her welcome into the building wasn't very warm and she didn't tell us about the specials, or check everything was ok during the meal, however she might be new.
The atmosphere was very relaxed with great views over the local area.
We'll defiantly be back soon and will be recommending to others too. Thanks for a tasty, healthy and relaxed lunch at reasonable prices.
After our walk at the near by National Trust we decided to have lunch at the @thelostkitchendevon The food was absolutely amazing, the pizzas, the dips & the polenta chips they were some of the best we ever had! 🎉🔥🙌🏻

Stumbled across this little gem of a restaurant on our way home from leaving our holiday in Devon, and I’m so so glad we did.
The food was delicious, the coffee is great and the service was above and beyond.
It was just lovely to sit outside and enjoy the October sunshine. A great great place!
A lovely little place tucked away in the countryside. A proper wood burning pizza oven. My pizza tasted like I ordered it in a restaurant in the middle of Italy. Absolutely delicious. Service was 1st class.
This is a converted old barn in the Devon countryside, with a delightful raised vegetable garden outside. It's a wonderful rural atmosphere. Inside, there is a wood fired oven producing great pizzas, flat breads, curry, scallops and other seasonal delights. The food was delicious and made with great local produce. There was also a small but good selection of local beers, wine and luxury soft drinks/mocktails. The service was faultless. There is a small car park outside, and an overflow car park. It would be great to sit outside on a nice day, but the interior is very nice too. Prices were quite reasonable for the quality. I believe this restaurant is usually only open for lunch, but we went on a Friday evening. Booking is essential as I believe they order in the correct amount of food in advance and don't accept walk-ins.
What a fabulous place. Great wood-fired pizzas, lovely sides and good selection of wine and beers. Staff are really attentive and nothing is too much trouble at all. You won't regret a visit to The Lost Kitchen!
Ok we went back this evening 26/05/23 and it's even better than ever. Staff and owner still superb, food as good as you'll get anywhere, and so close to town you'll wonder why you haven't been before. Just terrific and we're lucky to have it.

Loved everything about this place - location, wine selection, atmosphere, staff and food. A wonderful experience. My only slight criticism is that the menu sounds fussier than the food is, which nearly stopped us from going - morale of the story don't let that stop you from visiting as it's worth stopping by!
