I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Exeter Inn, and it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment we stepped inside, the environment felt welcoming and warm. The greeting and service we received from the owners throughout our visit was genuine, friendly and made us feel really comfortable.
The food was absolutely delicious! We each had a starter, main and dessert and were very please with our choices. The chef was also very friendly and attentive.
We will definitely be back!
Absolutely superb. Food was amazing, lovely place, service was great all round. Hadn't booked, but they fitted us in. Salt and chilli calamari was amazing. The homemade pie also incredible. Kids menu really good too. Highly recommend.
Overall 5 stars as an amazing pub, and B and B as was a 1 nite break.
Food in bar / restaurant was absolutely lovely and will visit again for sure love to try out more of their yummy menu.
Room overall lovely only 1 little quip left bottle to fill up kettle, Only that bottle too large to fit under sink to fill to complete this, so used glass Tumblr couple times and was fine, think some sort of plastic jug to fill up with be handy.
Overall lovely stay and breakfast yesterday was tip top and yummy.
Quaint old tradional pub architecture with chunky wooden beams holding up really low ceilings. Very friendly staff. Interesting menu and good quality food. We had a very pleasant dinner with friends who live locally, and they had recommended it.
Nice place and mainly good. We only stopped for a drink on the way past. My first pint of Exmoor (probably my favourite ale) was a little off, but not worth saying anything about, the second was spot on. The main issue was a young lady who was more interested in doing cutlery than serving, even though she served us the first time, which was disappointing.
Great place, highly recommend owners are very welcoming, food was very good, the rooms I loved not like most room for coffee when you get two sachets was fully stocked so win for me. Anything you need just ask them and it’s no fuss. Great stay
Amazing staff super friendly and welcoming. Room was very well fitted out onsuite bathroom tv kettle and a comfy bed. Breakfast had a few choices and was beautiful both days we stayed. The rest of the food here is just amazing also. We have eaten here a few times now and have across devon just for a Sunday roast before now. It is a must go to place just remember to pre book as they do get rather busy. The other great thing about the exeter inn is its location. Only a short walk from beautiful Bampton with Tiverton about a 15 minute drive. You have Exeter about a half hour drive and also straight on to the North Coast Minehead, Dunster, Watchet all about 45 minute drive. This inn really is placed perfectly for getting out and about. We will certainly be going back
A lovely little country pub, lovely atmosphere
Only down side was on returning to the car, in their car park, the door mirror was knocked off.
Not by another car, more like a person.
I never write reviews, I am not known for gushing and definitely was designated driver and therefore not
under the affluence of incohol but...What a great meal, what fantastic service, welcoming hosts. Three generation family get together made evenmore special by the the menu and venue. If you are thinking of going here Do!
Great place for a celebratory supper with the family. Landlords were lovely, having only taken over 9 weeks ago they had clearly worked hard to improve the quality of the menu and drinks. Had a wonderful pint or three of Exmoor gold and the food was high quality.
Prices were reasonable. My family all enjoyed the food and complemented the quality.
Easy to recommend the pub, environment, staff, food and drinks.
Love this place x. Keep it up guys 👍
Went for an evening meal, with 2 dogs in tow! Lovely atmosphere. The most delicious food, all freshly prepared and homemade. The FOH staff were incredibly accommodating and super super friendly. Couldn’t Have asked for any more. Thank you Exeter Inn team 🫶🏽
We were welcomed despite it being a busy Sunday we went on chance. Great service and food beer exeptional.
Perfect hosts, dog friendly and very hospitable. One of our party had the chicken schnitzel, which was huge piece of chicken and tasted great. Then the other two of us had the beef and ale pie. One of the best pies we've had, plus the onion gravy made it extra special. Looking forward to eating there again. Happy Days!
Cosy, clean room perfect for a short stay. Lunch the next day was delicious and the staff, particularly Jonathan, we're really friendly and went above and beyond in looking after us. Looking forward to returning when we're next in Devon.
Had our last pub food there before flying back to Germany and it was a perfect choice. I gave 5 stars for the rooms as well as I am sure that they are just as lovely as the rest of the food and people as well as the old Devon longhouse pub itself.
Great pub for locals & visitors of Devon.
Good value food & rooms. Dog friend and Very warmly decorated.
New owners making a real effort with high level of customer service.
Only went for drinks... Great Inn, very friendly staff, very welcoming. Enjoyable evening even with a power cut...
