Camping with Style (Shell Robshaw-Bryan)
+4
The room we had was small, but perfectly formed. Super comfortable and really lovely aesthetically. Importantly, when we stayed, we didn't have any issue with noise from the pub below or the road.
There was good parking behind the pub and service was relaxed and friendly.
We had an evening meal and have knocked off one star based on this. Our starter was lovely, full of flavour, but both of our main courses were OK, but not good or great. We had a G&T which was also good, but I then went on to have a glass of white wine, which wasn't very nice, so I only had a couple of sips.
The ambience of the pub is lovely, especially with the fires on and it was a really lovely choice as a stopover point on our way up to the Hebrides.
Breakfast the next morning was really good, no complaints there at all and it truly set us up for the day of travel ahead.
We'd definitely stay there again.
Perfect mid journey break. We were moving from the southwest to Glasgow and this was a good stopping place, and it was perfect.
It's a 300 year old inn which has been really well updated, it's cosy, quaint but with the mod cons you'd expect in a much pricier place.
We rang ahead to say we'd be arriving later than we'd hoped, and Helen called us back before closing the kitchen to see if we wanted anything made up, and that level of care and consideration was there across everything.
Breakfast was really well done with lots of options, we couldn't have been happier, many thanks.
Absolutely lovely Sunday roast. Service was perfect and very reasonably priced. Nice relaxed and old school atmosphere. Loved it!
Lovely traditional pub, a bit like a warren inside I kept getting lost!
I had the veggie stew, the others had roast beef and we all agree the food was delicious.
Prices are fair, service was good and the pub itself cosy.
Great looking old style pub, a classic! Whilst in the area nipped in for a few pints, welcoming and friendly staff. Cat park to the rear.
This was a fabulous find. Staying close by as attending a sporting event. Traditional cosy pub/restaurant. Food was excellent and was the service. I'm gluten intolerant and there was plenty of choice, dairy free and other allergen options. Definitely worthy 5 stars 🌟
They also have accommodation. Dog friendly.
Will be back, thanks team 🤩
Wonderful pub and inn, full of friendly patrons and staff. Food at the pub was delicious, with great selection of beers/ ales. Room was well appointed, very comfortable. Highlight by far were the people who worked there, genuinely friendly and went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable. Thank you!
We had a fantastic meal here and every dish chosen was thoroughly enjoyed.
I had the leek & potato pie and it was amazing, would highly recommend! Everything was home made and fresh. They also have a great wine selection.
We stayed here on our way up to Scotland the other week and it was a very comfortable stay. The rooms were very tasteful and the beds very comfy. We had dinner there which was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing, from as soon as we arrived everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was also delicious! We’ll definitely be staying here again if we’re ever in the area, I would say it is very good value for money.

The rooms are newly renovated and looked like the pictures on the website. Very clean4 and cozy. The only unpleasant thing is the sewage pump, which is very loud.
The pub is very cozy and invites you to linger. The food was great and the service was also very friendly.
We felt very comfortable and will be happy to come back!
Lovely pub, great food, nice atmosphere in the place. The owner was the most kind person and when we got into troubles with our transport he just brought us himself. Real great hospitality!

We stopped here for one night.
Nice quaint pub/food area.
Rooms are new and renovated.
Nice bathroom and great bedroom with enough space.
The service was also friendly.
The only thing I didn't like is the sewage pump in the bathroom. No matter whether you wash your hands, go to the toilet or take a shower, this pump is very, very loud and unpleasant.
We could hear the other rooms too.
A lovely country pub, great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Rooms are clean and comfortable with good quality refreshment tray in the room and fresh milk available.
Breakfast was excellent as was Sunday lunch
Absolutely beautiful pub, very traditional aesthetic and the live music was so much fun. Went for Sunday dinner and had some of the nicest pork roast I think I've ever had. The landlord is an angel and I would 100% come back here if I ever visited the area again, they are so welcoming and an absolute pleasure.
It's in a very pretty area, we arrived in snow and got a fireside seat! After going to our room to freshen up we had a good meal, the service was excellent. The following morning a superb breakfast was served, we walked to the waterfall, which was well worth the trip!
We stayed for one night and everything was wonderful. It was dog friendly. The team were lovely. The room decorated tastefully. The bed was super cumfy. Sunday roast was great and our peculiarities adapted to. Breakfast was spot on! Great value too.
We stayed for two nights in late May, en route to Scotland with my cousin from the US and her husband. For us old folk, the comfort of a bed is very important and we were not in any way disappointed. Food was v good and service friendly and helpful. In fact, the Manager, Stewart, went out of his way to help me by returning the jacket I had left on a chair whilst paying the bill. He put it in the post and it was waiting in our porch when we got home this evening.
We were really happy to have stayed in this delightful old pub in a beautiful part of our country. Thank you again.
