Stayed for one night before going to the races. Had dinner in the bar area which was excellent, we have eaten in many places but the steak with peppercorn sauce & fish & chips were absolutely delicious, in fact the best we had ever eaten (& we have eaten many!). The en-suite double room was spotless
Really delicious lunch.
Proper home cooked fare. Children's menu was the best we've had, with proper home cooked kids food not just frozen and fried junk like most places.
Pie was delicious, shortcrust pastry that was just like my mum used to make me as a boy. Loved it. Thank you
This is a great hotel situated in the village and in walking distance of the Abbey and other activities (walks and breweries).
The owners are really friendly and the pub is busy so has a lovely vibe.
Breakfast was great and I heard that they will make up packed lunches if you need them.

Stayed in room 2 with was amazing to us as we had been staying in hotels all week and no other stay had a living room as well as a bedroom. And bathroom. A beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. There was a traditional feel downstairs and modern feel in the rooms upstairs. There was a great attention to details and the service was impeccable. The food was delicious too. I would highly recommend a visit.
